So Kobe, Tell Us, How Does Shaq’s Ass Taste?
NBA, Video June 23rd. 2008, 8:23pmFull credit to The Big Deal for pulling this video from TMZ. You guys have asked repeatedly why we love Shaq, and this simply incredible video is further proof as why he’s the greatest entertainer in the NBA, and why his retirement will make us very sad. (And yes, we saw his comments to Stephen A. Smith about how he meant no harm to Kobe. That’s laughable.) Obviously much more on this tomorrow. In the meantime, we’ll watch this another 30 times.

I actually kinda liked the rap; thought it was really good…although it left me thinking – “Really, Shaq? You just can’t let shit go, can you?” And I’m a Kobe hater.

“I love ‘em/ I can’t leave ‘em/ I got a vasectomy/ now I can’t breed ‘em”
bahaha – I love it

Career highlight?
it’s that good
June 23rd, 2008 at 8:35 pm
and poor Patrick Ewing. that is just great. I can’t stop watching.
and he forgot “it’s like Travis Henry having more kids than me” …wait, nevermind that one.

Damn funny.
Shaq has mastered the art of media manipulation. Of course that was a 1000 lb sledgehammer over Kobe’s head. And everyone laughs. Had Kobe been in a NY club rapping about Shaq, he’d of been immediately drawn and quartered by the media (both old and new).
June 23rd, 2008 at 8:36 pm
Free-Styling is just like Doing-the-Dozens when we were kids
And trust me I’ve heard Far-Worse between Child-hood friends
Shaq killed it and it was HILARIOUS !!!

What a terrible run for Kobe, and it all started after the romp of the Spurs. Major bummer for that guy.
KC, you are right – if this were Kobe, he would be slammed hardcore for this. Shaq’s just this big lug who screams, ‘i’m fun.’
June 23rd, 2008 at 8:49 pm
Google trends: Shaq is in the top 31 google searches four times
June 23rd, 2008 at 8:49 pm
TBL you forgot add “/sincere”
June 23rd, 2008 at 8:57 pm
amazing amazing stuff from shaq! an earthling like kobe couldnt possibly pull something like that off.
June 23rd, 2008 at 8:57 pm
I may be randomly singing this for a few days… it’s catchy.
June 23rd, 2008 at 9:05 pm
As a Suns fan I am very happy to have the Diesel as our center. I think the Suns will be a big surprise next year how good they are….They will make the Lakers taste some Suns ass
June 23rd, 2008 at 9:07 pm
this is wonderful. he’s come a long way since “I hate 2 brag, but damn i’m good.” which, btw, i totally have on cassette.
June 23rd, 2008 at 9:09 pm
LMAO!
June 23rd, 2008 at 9:09 pm
I thought it was disgraceful. Just kidding, very funny. Nobody ever questioned Shaq’s entertainment value, just his work ethic (and rightly so).
Now if only we could get Phil Jackson to write some haikus about how “uncoachable” Kobe is, while he’s still on the team!
June 23rd, 2008 at 9:22 pm
Being a Bulls fan my favorite part was definitely about Ewing. I don’t think the NYC crowd liked it as much though.
June 23rd, 2008 at 9:29 pm
two things…one I think I found the one guy happier than KG that the Celtics won and two if Patrick Ewing had more talent than a bunch of has-beens and John Starks around him he would have some rings (fucking Shaq is right fuck)
June 23rd, 2008 at 9:30 pm
Do you say the same thing about Karl Malone?
Haha
June 23rd, 2008 at 9:36 pm
And once and for all, nobody wins a title in the NBA by themselves, it just doesn’t happen. Hate the argument that Kobe can’t win without Shaq or MJ couldn’t win w/o Pippen. As if it should chip away at their greatness.
June 23rd, 2008 at 9:50 pm
The big lead, the big deal. I’m all very confused.
June 23rd, 2008 at 10:06 pm
Hilarious… but kind of cringe-worthy and embarassing for Shaq. And someone should remind Shaq that he wouldn’t have any titles if it hadn’t been for Kobe or Dwayne Wade.
If Kobe is going to respond at all, he should aim really low. Like, “How does his ass taste? Not nearly as good as his wife’s!” Ohh…..
June 23rd, 2008 at 10:07 pm
“You play ball like a girl”
If Kobe doesn’t respond with that, he loses.
June 23rd, 2008 at 10:11 pm
F Shaq. He’s fat, lazy and over rated. What has Shaq done lately? Oh yeah, he got bounced in the 1st round this year. He won with the Heat because of Wade. So Kobe hasn’t won without Shaq, but Shaq can say he won without Kobe, despite having Wade?? Give me a break. Shaq is a punk.

June 23rd, 2008 at 10:54 pm
This is precisely why Shaq is nothing more than an overgrown child who looks to bite the hand that feeds at every opportunity.
F-U, Shaq.
June 23rd, 2008 at 10:55 pm
By the way, I strongly believe Imus will be getting fired over his latest comments… I defended him last time b/c I felt it was a botched attempt at humor, his comments today won’t be confused with an attempt at humor by anyone.
June 23rd, 2008 at 11:52 pm
Sports fans are such pricks. We rag on Tim Duncan and the spurs because they are boring, throw daggers at Kobe because he isn’t nice enough to his teammates, and fans will look down on a guy like Shaq because he acts out like a petulant child. Get over your fucking selves….
June 23rd, 2008 at 11:59 pm
MJ = not boring, good teammate, not a petulant child. Casts a big shadow over these guys…
June 24th, 2008 at 12:06 am
yeah…just ask Steve Paxton about that good teammate shit. Just be thankful the internet wasn’t around/as prevalent during MJ’s playing days when his gambling was getting people close to him killed (allegedly).
June 24th, 2008 at 12:09 am
excuse me…Steve Kerr…the white guys on the Bulls just all blended together for me…
June 24th, 2008 at 12:27 am
Enough about Kobe … where is the outrage over how Shaw clowned Patrick Ewing???
June 24th, 2008 at 12:31 am
MJ was a good teammate because he made everyone around him BETTER. From a sports perspective, that’s all that matters.
June 24th, 2008 at 1:06 am
You could say the same thing about Shaq during his career.
June 24th, 2008 at 1:06 am
ahhh yes, the famed “making eachother better” argument. Always great to assign intangibles to those we like and highlight the lack of intangibles with those we dislike. I’m not calling you out jaywashere, you might actually believe Jordan did make his teammates better, and logically, yes, teammates of superstars do have it easier – more open looks, less focus and preparation for them. But I find the entire premise to be flimsy and unprovable.
June 24th, 2008 at 1:57 am
“You could say the same thing about Shaq during his career.”
I agree. Shaq is the petulant child, not the bad teammate.
June 24th, 2008 at 1:58 am
“But I find the entire premise to be flimsy and unprovable.”
Of course it is… on the other hand, all of those rings are not.
June 24th, 2008 at 2:50 am
ive read alot of comments here, but the question still begs to be answered…just how does shaqs ass taste?
June 24th, 2008 at 8:33 am
Dude needs to grow up.
June 24th, 2008 at 8:36 am
“Kobe can’t do without me”
I think the Suns could. Was that really that great? I dunno, I’m ready for Shaq to, I dunno, die.
June 24th, 2008 at 8:39 am
TBL Headline of the Year.
You know, ESPN and I have had some awkward morning moments over the years. Like when I woke up and turned on SC to see Stuart Scott doing spoken word or when I turn on ESPN2 for Mike and Mike only to find some tennis or soccer coverage. But few moments compare (from an awkwardness standpoint) to this morning when I was confronted with the images and sounds of Shaq asking Kobe “how does my ass taste?”. Yea, they bleeped out ‘ass’ but I was still surprised that they showed the entire video. Methinks ESPN will be apologizing for this one in a few days. And this was after an almost constant running on the Bottom Line of a headline something along the lines of “Shaq disses Kobe in freestyle rap in NY according to TMZ.com video” right behind “Don Imus makes apparent racial comment on radio show” during baseball last night. What the fuck is this? Show me my god-damn fantasy baseball stats and scores and shut the fuck up!!
I don’t have much to say about whether sports blogs have ‘cleaned up’ or should ‘clean up their act”, but on the point re: whether the MSM has tried to become more ‘bloggy’, I challenge you to find a more convincing example than SC practically leading with a TMZ.com video of Shaq freestyle rapping about his ass at a NY club.
June 24th, 2008 at 8:41 am
Kobe said i gave that bitch a mill…I said i dont do that…
My name Shaquille
hilarious video
Kobe is going to murder the Suns next year
June 24th, 2008 at 8:46 am
This is true, I hate Kobe, but the forecast is hate for the Suns next year when Kobe comes to town. Oh, and Shaq’s ass tastes exactly like it smells…..Delicious!
June 24th, 2008 at 8:54 am
Who cares what this washed up fatso has to say? Kobe won the MVP last year. Shaq was fumbling his way out of the first round in 5 games.
June 24th, 2008 at 8:56 am
WHY are people calling Shaq a child and all this loser-crap stuff
The MAN has personality and for a Pro Athlete is a Comic-Genius
Go back and look at his press conferences during “The Ring-years”
And the same people ragging complain that athlete are Bland-n-Boring
June 24th, 2008 at 8:58 am
Shaq just let it go.
