NASCAR’s Finest: Former Miss Teen USA Semifinalist and Budding TV Star Nicole Manske
ESPN, Media Gossip/Musings, NASCAR February 29th. 2008, 8:50am
A reader’s email yesterday read: “Why aren’t you guys writing about Nicole Manske? She’s the Erin Andrews of NASCAR.” That’s an attention-grabbing email, isn’t it? Without further adieu:
* 1998 Miss Teen USA semifinalist (it was won by MTV’s Vanessa Minnillo)
* High School cheerleader in 1996 with Danica Patrick in Rockton, Ill.
* Apparently dated 2005 Indy 500 winner Dan Whedon
* She lives in Charlotte, and she’s bored
* Working in the NFL has “always been her dream,” which must make Suzy Kolber thrilled
All we’ve got is screengrabs (and here’s a link to her as a brunette), but perhaps some of our commenters can do some digging. It does appear that the NASCAR world is untapped reservoir of talent. That’s definitely one way to get people interested in the sport. A couple more photos:

I’d give her an angry minute.
February 29th, 2008 at 8:53 am
She looks like she is about to serve some Saki in that middle photo.
But all jokes aside, she is pretty hot.
February 29th, 2008 at 8:53 am
she’s bored huh. i bet some of us can take some time off her hands
February 29th, 2008 at 8:54 am
do we have any readers in charlotte? is nicole on the bar scene?
great, great AAA city (with NY, SF, DC, etc being the Majors) if you ask me
February 29th, 2008 at 8:56 am
I live dowtown Charlotte and am on scene all the time. Never heard of her…then again, I really dont do the NASCAR thing…
February 29th, 2008 at 8:56 am
TBL now you are going to have to do a post ranking the cities like that
February 29th, 2008 at 8:57 am
Yeah, that always makes for good reading.
/sarcasm
February 29th, 2008 at 8:57 am
ranking cities could be brutal … but perhaps also fun. i will begin a list and try to get it up this PM
February 29th, 2008 at 8:58 am
Nicole spent some time with the local CBS affilate in Indy.
There is no apparently to it, she did date Dan Wheldon, and the rumor mill was she “dated” several drivers. Think Alissa Milano of motor sports. Her dismissal from the station was very quiet and not a lot was ever said about it.
February 29th, 2008 at 9:00 am
good tidbits, IU
Alyssa Milano of motor sports - fantastic

Say goodbye to the Cleveland readers…
February 29th, 2008 at 9:06 am
One of the hottest women I ever knew was from Cleveland. There are plenty of smoking hot chicks here in Pittsburgh. I’ve traveled extensively across the country and have found the same to be true pretty much everywhere…which is why I think such lists are kind of tired.
That being said, I might give an edge to places like San Diego and Tempe, if only because it’s so gd hot that you tend to see a bit more skin.
February 29th, 2008 at 9:11 am
TBL — Sweet idea. Some other good “AAA” (or whatever you’d like to call them) cities to consider:
– Nashville
– Austin
– I really like Portland, though I understand there could be disagreement. Actually, there will probably be disagreement on all of these, what am I thinking.
February 29th, 2008 at 9:11 am
Ther’s plenty of smoking hot girls everywhere, they’re just tanner and/or more anorexic in certain places.
February 29th, 2008 at 9:13 am
CRM…id stick around for that. im all about S&M
February 29th, 2008 at 9:14 am
I’d give her an angry minute also. Not sure how I’d feel the other 45 seconds, but I’m sure I’d think of something.
February 29th, 2008 at 9:14 am
If you’re talking north of the Mason-Dixon line, look for the big college towns — think Madison. Impossible not to have a good time there if you’re young enough to do the bar scene.
February 29th, 2008 at 9:15 am
Fill the other 45 seconds. So hard to type accurately when talking to your boss.
February 29th, 2008 at 9:16 am
@Dirty - Nice that you’re typing about premature ejaculation while talking to the boss.
February 29th, 2008 at 9:25 am
i’d say most college towns are just AA, right? I don’t think this is necessarily about hot women … as others have said, they are everywhere
February 29th, 2008 at 9:30 am
My female boss at that.
Alright TBL, I expect a Lost post sometime today. Hopefully in the afternoon since I have some bullshit meeting this morning and I want to devote my full attention to the Lost discussion.

I know nothing about NASCAR (that’s certainly didn’t stop my TV station from sending me to Daytona this year)…but imagine my face face when I saw this trolling the pits: http://www.espn.go.com/media/radio/2004/0818/photo/jamielittle_i.jpg

I’d say Columbus is AAA.
February 29th, 2008 at 9:53 am
We would need negative integers to desribe Parkersburg, WV
February 29th, 2008 at 10:02 am
Now that’s a good photo, cursed.
Columbus AAA? It’s what, the third biggest city in the state? Or is Akron bigger? Sorry, AA
February 29th, 2008 at 10:03 am
Biggest city in the state, TBL.

February 29th, 2008 at 10:04 am
She reminds me of the cocktail waitress at FlashDancers.
February 29th, 2008 at 10:06 am
bigger than Charlotte
February 29th, 2008 at 10:07 am
Wow. I had no idea. Cleveland and Cincy have multiple pro teams and are dwarfed by Columbus? Amount of nights i have spent in Ohio: maybe two, possibly zero.
February 29th, 2008 at 10:11 am
This chick is hot.
Anyone know who the chick is that does NASCAR reports for SportsCenter? She isn’t really hot I would say, but definitely cute and has caught my attention. They don’t make her up too much, but there is potential there.
February 29th, 2008 at 10:17 am
I live in DC, and it does not approach the number of hot women in NYC. I actually get distracted walking down the street in Manhattan. Big school college towns always have TONS of hot, young ass walking around. I was an athlete at a Big 10 school, and visited every other campus. Iowa had amazing tail. Good times.
February 29th, 2008 at 10:23 am
@TBL — The point about college towns is a fair one, I just think it will be difficult to find anything that qualifies for your list north of the Mason-Dixon line without them. Providence? Ugh.
I’m not going to insult Cleveland, lord knows those people get enough (and I love Great Lakes Brewery). But Buffalo, Syracuse, Toledo, Akron… all not so hot.
February 29th, 2008 at 10:24 am
@cbh49er:
Shannon Spake? I hope you don’t mean Jamie Little.
Nicole Manske is pretty hot. She was hosting NASCAR Now last night on ESPN2, and for some reason the host has to turn their back to the camera when they interview someone on satellite. Her ass is alright, too.
February 29th, 2008 at 10:25 am
cleveland’s population is plummeting. the only reason we have sports teams still is the devoted fan base due to tradition. oh, and the cavs have lebron, but if they didnt, the franchise would be strug-le-ing.
February 29th, 2008 at 10:30 am
I think it is Shannon Spake
February 29th, 2008 at 10:42 am
I am going to need a breakdown of what the difference between AAA and AA is. Charts would be nice, etc.
February 29th, 2008 at 11:07 am
I remember when Nicole Manske started at the CBS affiliate in Fort Wayne before moving down to Indy.
One time a pal and I drove to a location we knew she’d be reporting live from. We got there and stared at her - from a distance - from my car. Weird, I know.
February 29th, 2008 at 11:17 am
Actually, truth be told, the Cleveland/Akron Metro area is larger than the Columbus area. It equates to 3 million people, while the Columbus metro has almost 2 million people. It’s why the Cleveland TV market is substantially bigger than Columbus - despite losses from Cleveland proper, the “exurban” sprawl has kept the Cleveland metro holding firm.
Jamie Little is so hot
February 29th, 2008 at 11:18 am
Columbus is sprawled out for miles. They just keep annexing surrounding communities. It’s the ‘it’ place to work in Ohio. The words ‘Lake Effect’ don’t mean anything in Columbus either.
February 29th, 2008 at 11:18 am
Hmmm…. the left turns jokes have suddenly disappeared…
February 29th, 2008 at 11:21 am
columbus is so bland it kills me to visit. especially since all the best public golf courses in ohio are there.
cursed…do people actually consider akron part of cleveland? might as well just call the whole region NE Ohio as its just one big suburban wasteland.
February 29th, 2008 at 11:33 am
Spencer, not in Cleveland they don’t. But like I said, the tv market includes the entire Cleveland/Akron/Canton Demo, which is pretty freaking huge. Imagine being a winning high school team in Canton, and getting zero coverage because the TV stations are an hour away.
Cleveland, while slowly rotting away, has suburbs with character. Columbus is far more cookie cutter. I’m not saying one is better than the other, but you many more unique neighborhoods in Cleveland than you do C’bus. Cleveland’s much tougher to get around though…whie in Columbus, everything is right off the outerbelt.
February 29th, 2008 at 1:34 pm
I love the maternity shirt she’s got on.
February 29th, 2008 at 1:47 pm
That’s right on target CC, good analysis
February 29th, 2008 at 1:48 pm
But don’t forget that the technology and financial jobs are all in Columbus.
February 29th, 2008 at 2:22 pm
Yes but the burgeoning field of Pizza delivery and Golf Course do-it-all kept me in Cleveland for my formative years. That is until I struck gold in Parkersburg.
February 29th, 2008 at 3:00 pm
great link Nick P…
love crazy info sites like that on the ‘net. thanks.

@rick: Tech yes. Finance not so much.
