Lee Diekemper recaps the night in the NHL.

Washington 10, Boston 2: Alexander Ovechkin went nuts, scoring a hat trick (in the first period!) and finishing with five points. Don’t worry, we’re not going to credit or blame AO’s Russian e-mail girlfriend. That punchline’s getting old. AO now has 52 goals.

San Jose 6, Montreal 4: The Sharks have won six in a row. Brian Campbell’s spin move in the third helped. Jeremy Roenick is talking about returning to the Sharks next year.

Anaheim 3, Ottawa 1: The defending Stanley cup champions have also won their sixth consecutive game. As usual with a win streak, solid goaltending helps. Jean-Sebastien Giguere recorded his 30th win, the third straight season he’s accomplished that. In his last 11 starts, Giguere has a 1.26 goals-against average. Could coaching be in Chris Pronger’s future?
