I dont see why the last two teams in dont have to play the play-in-game and the teams who earned a right to play in the field of 64 (conf. champs) get shafted. If that fails, just take away an at-large bid. When is the last time a 12/13 seed won anyway?

The NCAA Tournament is fine, except for the stupid opening round play in game, but it’s inconsequential so it doesn’t really bother me.

My three changes to the already-excellent NCAA Tournament (most have been rehashed elsewhere):
1. Make at-large teams play in the play-in game.
2. Don’t make a team from a state that borders the Pacific Ocean play their opening round game at noon Eastern.
3. Limit teams to one timeout during the final minute of a game (or anything to keep the final minute from lasting 17 minutes).

I was in the Navy for about 9 years and so that AF article doesn’t shock me. After 9/11, every e-mail that we sent home, had to be sent to our supervisor first so they could look it over to make sure that we didn’t send out something that might compromise our mission. Then they would go and send it out. This type of thing is not new at all for military members and I honestly think it won’t be the last.

As far as the Texas Rangers prospects go, here’s my two cents: I have to thoughts on it. On one hand, they made a mistake and have paid the price. Let them in. On the other hand, cynicism wins over–someone came to them with a scam that they knew was illegal, but the scammer said he’d pay them for their deeds. They took the money (regardless of whatever reason they took the money for–to support their families, whatever–they took it, and it was wrong, and they know it). As someone firmly against illegals in our country, and them being right in the middle of a ring to get countless illegals in, I say let them stay over there and rot away in a Dominican league that pays them in peanuts.
