Is Jewel still singing? … anyone else watching the Gyro struggle in Japan? He labored through the first few innings. Manny Ramirez just came through with a two-run double down the left field line to knot baseball’s season opener at 2 in the sixth … this video is almost too depressing to watch, and not because of the music, but because it makes us wistful of that one awesome Spring Break in Cancun … this will be NSFW, but since everyone jocks her, a Scarlett nip-slip in her most recent movie? … Megan Fox, why mess with perfection and plump up your lips? … this one’s for wrestling-loving weekender Patrick Imig: Brooke Hogan on the beach.
The A’s are treating the trip to Japan like a trip to Boston. (SF Gate)
Former Alabama QB Jay Barker lands himself a cute country music singer. (People)

If the Jordan effect is part of the reason for Stephen Curry’s success, then the same goes for WVU dunking machine Joe Alexander. (NYT)

Red Sox lead 3-2 on an RBI double from some guy named Brandon Moss. Joe Blanton yanked.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:17 am
Just get back from making breakfast and it’s 4-3, A’s.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:26 am
Why would you link to that Simmons basher. Oh my he missed on some picks – who gives a shit. I love the round-up and expect a bit better from you.
Terrible stuff about that FLA story.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:30 am
i liked how that simmons bashing guy says its a big deal to call him out because he gets paid to make these picks…actually bill gets paid to write interesting articles not be a CBB expert
and TBL im sorry but brooke hogan just doesnt do it, maybe if i was into woman with junk i would be, but sadly i am not
March 25th, 2008 at 8:33 am
I love me some Jewel.
I watched the beginning of the A’s/Sox game this morning and kept laughing to myself because of how much they paid for Dice K. (I started calling him Dice BB after he seriously fucked up my WHIP standings in FBB last season)
March 25th, 2008 at 8:33 am
Interesting how we only heard how great the Red Sox players were for trying to get the coaches and staff the $40,000 payment when they found out it was only players that were going to receive the money for going to Japan. Now we see the players actually caused the whole thing by demanding $40,000 apiece instead of the offered $25,000 and MLB had to cut those others out to make it work. Check out the last paragraph for the comments on Boston fans by the locals. They catch on quick.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:33 am
TBL, have you seen anything about the No Fun League instituting a “short-hair policy?”
March 25th, 2008 at 8:33 am
A girl who is probably less than 125 lbs. and she has “junk” in her trunk? mmon – I’ll take your scraps.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:34 am
I heard the Hogans have a no hair policy.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:41 am
Senior in high school + breast augmentation = smart?
In what world is that smart? Does she live in Laguna Beach?
March 25th, 2008 at 8:41 am
Couldnt get the game this morning on my directtv, no signal. Anyone else have an issue with this?
Best wishes to Donnie Walsh. 20+ years with the same team as GM, pretty remarkable.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:43 am
Same here IUGrad. DirectTV & No signal.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:44 am
I wonder what the girl next to Brooke looks like? I also wonder if she has a schlong as well.
I think the Dice-K signing will put an end to teams paying $50 million posting fees.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:44 am
Iugrad I could only get the game on the HD channel but not on another tv that did not have HD…weird.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:44 am
Benji – Short hair policy? Huh?
March 25th, 2008 at 8:46 am
sorry j i just like my ladies with a little less testosterone
March 25th, 2008 at 8:46 am
@TBL: Yeah, the Chiefs suggested it. They’re pissed about Larry Johnson dragging down Troy Polamalu (sp?) last year and getting his hand stuck in his hair. MJD and KSK have both mentioned it.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:47 am
benji…its just a proposal and it’s going in front of the competition committee at some point.
anything to get Troy Polamalu to cut his hair. that guy is almost as much of a disgrace as the turf at Heinz Field.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:47 am
Damn, was hoping it was my TV, so I could have an excuse to buy a new one.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:48 am
Wow, what a grab by Jacoby in center. Outstanding.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:50 am
i think i am going to pass on looking at Brooke Hogans pic. after the last time, no more.
great read TBL on Joe Alexander. I would like to see him play one more year in college under Huggins.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:51 am
@ Spence: Johnson draggin him down by his hair was one of the highlights of the season for me. I’ve always wondered why more people don’t use the hair. People will stop right the hell now if they get their hair pulled out of their scalp.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:52 am
Props to Jay Barker. There is something about Sara Evans that is sexy. Not to mention she looks like she would no doubt be a freak in the sheets.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:54 am
Red Sox are two outs away from 0-1.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:55 am
@TBL – Hit the panic button!
Hit it!
March 25th, 2008 at 8:55 am
bravesrrob…yea, it was great, don’t get me wrong, but polamalu looks disgusting. its one thing to keep it clean and have braids and shit, but to just have this nasty mane flowing from underneath your helmet is just…blech. it doesnt help that he’s a steeler either.
ND Kalu for the bengals is just as bad.
to be honest, i could really care less about the hair thing, the NFL should step in and force the Steelers to fix their swamp they call a field. if you insist on having grass, dont let the Pitt Panthers and high school teams play there on the weekends then…dear god it isnt rocket science.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:55 am
Red Sox = FRAUDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
March 25th, 2008 at 8:56 am
Boston is 1-6 over the past 7 years on Opening Day, so I’m sure they’re not worried.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:56 am
Brandon Moss homers to right! Tied at 4!
Street blows the save.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:57 am
Scratch that…A’s = FRAUDS!!!!!!
March 25th, 2008 at 8:58 am
ESPN MLB GameCast hasn’t caught up yet. Working sucks.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:58 am
I love the field theyre playing on, it looks like a game of Super Bases Loaded for Super Nintendo.
March 25th, 2008 at 8:59 am
Who is Brandon Moss and why do I care nothing about him?
March 25th, 2008 at 8:59 am
i know its just a proposal. but if these players want the risk of getting ripped down by their hair, i think it should be their own choice. this is just another example of the NFL flexing nuts.

March 25th, 2008 at 8:59 am
He’s playing because Nancy Drew was a late scratch.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:00 am
When you see an 18 year-old in WPB with a Lexus getting breast augmentation surgery, it sure is easy to make an assumption that poor/absentee parenting is at the root, isn’t it? Who knows, but it doesn’t make it any less sad.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:00 am
We’re going to the 10th. Baseball’s just like basketball and the NFL – you only need to watch the final inning/quarter!
March 25th, 2008 at 9:01 am
I predict the Jacoby grab in center – backpeddling, leaps, drills the wall – will be on You Tube or Red Lasso before 930. Any takers?
March 25th, 2008 at 9:02 am
Red Lasso? I assume it’s a video site?
March 25th, 2008 at 9:02 am
Red Lasso won’t give me access = dickheads
March 25th, 2008 at 9:03 am
TBL, are you a Red Sox fan? Is anyone suprised to see JD Drew scratched from a start already. He sure knows how to earn that $16 million.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:03 am
Benji, he already hit his grand slams to impress the Japanese, so he’s ready for a little break.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:04 am
Red Lasso is awesome – you can pull videos off live TV shortly after they happen. Looks like the delay is only in the 6th inning. Think the catch happened in the 8th or 9th.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:05 am
St. Bear, that was weeks ago(in my best chappelle voice)…
March 25th, 2008 at 9:06 am
In Japanese, JD Drew’s name is pronounced “Tom Selleck.”
March 25th, 2008 at 9:07 am
that nip slip was weak of scarlett. im guessing half dollars
March 25th, 2008 at 9:08 am
@ IUGrad & Nick

@mmon – I thought you were saying she was fat. My mistake.I guess you’re saying she has an adam’s apple? I get it. I think ann coulter is scary too.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:13 am
@tbl- page cannot be found with the depressing video link
brooke hogan has a big ol’ _ _ _ t
March 25th, 2008 at 9:15 am
@irish: Foot
March 25th, 2008 at 9:16 am
Oh yeah, the playing surface at Heinz Field–particularly anytime after mid-November is a joke. I would have liked to have seen them go to FieldTurf, but the Rooneys always wanted grass at Three Rivers and are unlikely to change unless the league forces their hand.
Pitt playing at Heinz was part of the deal. So, they’re not going anywhere (though I actually enjoyed the old bowl in Oakland).
March 25th, 2008 at 9:16 am
Yeah…really glad I took Dice K.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:22 am
412…yea i know that the HS and Pitt thing was part of the stadium deal, but the NFL REALLY REALLY REALLY needs to force a change.
but then again, that’s completely off topic.
im glad you took dice-k too because if he was still around, i was gonna snatch him up.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:22 am
412 – Must have been all that pinot grigio you were drinking.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:24 am
That was a cheap shot!
March 25th, 2008 at 9:27 am
Anyone read the live-blog of this game over at Bugs & Cranks? Tobin makes a great analogy of how Boston fans viewed themselves and are viewed by others.

March 25th, 2008 at 9:28 am
My alma mater, a tiny Div III school, has a much better surface than Heinz Field. And, seeing as how Commissioner Goodell is also an alum, he’s got to be aware of this.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:28 am
Red Sox take the lead as Manny drills one off the CF wall.
6-4 Boston
4 RBI for Manny.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:28 am
Ouch. Didn’t even realize this came off Houston Street. So glad I don’t have him in fantasy.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:30 am
Hey TBL, did you see that the DOJ officially approved the Sirius-XM merger?
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120638514923860085.html?mod=yahoo_hs&ru=yahoo
March 25th, 2008 at 9:31 am
As a Sirius subscriber, I am pumped to hopefully get baseball on my radio.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:31 am
yup, but still waiting to hear what FCC does. Those bastards will probably try to block it, but that has fail written all over it.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:36 am
I’m curious to see how their ala carte setup will work.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:36 am
pretty happy manny’s gettin off to a hot start. i realize it doesnt count yet, but if he can start the season on fire, ill be juiced.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:37 am
I miss Kornheiser. I would actually consider satellite radio if I could get Stern, MLB, and Kornheiser all in one place.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:38 am
Where did you go to school 412?
March 25th, 2008 at 9:38 am
spencer – this is a regular season game
March 25th, 2008 at 9:38 am
@Hakeem – W&J
March 25th, 2008 at 9:39 am
Papelbon with a 2 run lead looking to close it out.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:39 am
412…yea, but the fantasy season hasn’t started yet. im not facing anyone for the numbers to matter.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:40 am
Spencer, i’m calling it. Man Ram will bread the 600 RBI mark.
412, Kornheiser is on XM. So, if this merger goes through, you should be able too.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:41 am
412…nevermind. im really stressed out right now and am in the middle of fantasy basketball playoffs. i got too much shit on my brain right now.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:42 am
benji…if man ram doesnt break 600 RBI, im going to be very disappointed.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:43 am
412, i listen to Kornheiser everyday, sometimes twice a day. IMO, there is no one better on radio. Some come close, but no one is better.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:45 am
Wow, shot into the gap, and the A’s have cut it to … oh, wait … Emil Brown with a base-running gaffe, which hurts. Caught in a pickle. Out. But the run came in. 6-5 Red Sox.
Gary Thorne: “Man oh man, you cannot do that.”
March 25th, 2008 at 9:46 am
thats alright if they tie it. more time for Man Ram to know in more runs.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:48 am
Two hits after that moron got caught base running, freakin idiot. Gary Thorne is the man.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:48 am
Insult to injury: Back to back base hits by the A’s. Still 6-5.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:49 am
Manny was lifted, so no more RBIs for you tonight.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:50 am
Grounds out to first … ballgame. Red Sox win
Emil Brown runs to the showers to leave before the reporters show up.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:54 am
Sara Evans is pretty hot, I think she’s kind of a head case though. Just divorced last September and already getting married? Red flag.
March 25th, 2008 at 9:55 am
all the TBL updates made it sound like a great game. Man, i love baseball. i can’t wait for opening day next week. There is nothing like a tailgate in the snow.
March 25th, 2008 at 10:05 am
Benji- What time is Kornheiser on over at XM? Wondering if this will interfere with my Stern listening.
March 25th, 2008 at 10:07 am
8:15-10 ET or a replay from 1-3. He’s on XM 144.
March 25th, 2008 at 10:31 am
I have Street in fantasy, thanks TBL. Great way to start the season.
March 25th, 2008 at 11:10 am
