PM Roundup: Out of Jail, and Right Back In
Baseball, Blithering Idiots, College Basketball, Media Gossip/Musings, NBA, NFL, Politics, Race, Video March 26th. 2008, 2:46pm
As you can tell, we’re spending way too much time at the SI Vault. Greatest swimsuit cover, this one. If you’ve recently eaten, you’ll want to avoid this: a transgender person is pregnant.
This is gully: Man released from jail, and in the jail parking lot, he tried to carjack a woman. (Palm Beach Post)
Whitlock’s latest is bound to get a few people worked up. (Fox Sports)
Injured Dirk, getting his play-by-play on (late in the clip). (Odenized)
Funny breakdown of Jemele Hill’s take on the LeBron cover. (Sports Hernia)
John McCain is against the bailout and he’s gong to be tough on illegals? You factor in his cute daughter and this messed up joke about Chelsea (see No. 7), and we may have to consider giving him our vote. (NYT)
Did you know James Dolan was in the mix to buy Newsday? (Stop Mike Lupica)
Gary Thorne should probably stick to hockey. (Awful Announcing)
Was the LA Times tricked by a liar in its Tupac story last week? (Smoking Gun via Romenesko)
Nike equipment or sex toys? (Friends of the Program)
LSU’s Big Baby Davis Glenn Dorsey and his health issues. (Fifth Down)
Agreed – 128 teams in the NCAA tournament is dumb. (Buffalo News)
Who knew there were so many former small-time jocks on Capitol Hill? (Politico)

Don’t you mean Glenn Dorsey
March 26th, 2008 at 2:48 pm
In the highly-unlikely event that anyone cares, Becks will get his 100th English cap this evening in Paris, having been selected to start the match against France.
March 26th, 2008 at 2:51 pm
Dear God, people are claiming the LeBron/Giselle cover is racist?
Sometimes I hate this country.
March 26th, 2008 at 2:52 pm
too tired to walk, what a clown
March 26th, 2008 at 2:53 pm
Amen to that.
March 26th, 2008 at 2:53 pm
My bad, Hak … thanks for the heads up.
Also: Official at the U used a work computer ALLEGEDLY to look up kiddie porn.

Elle >>>>>>>>>>>>> Kathy Ireland
By the way, the people at Vogue owe a great debt of gratitude to Jemele Hill. If she wouldn’t have bitched about it, few people in this group would have known that LeBron was on the cover of the magazine.
March 26th, 2008 at 2:56 pm
Jemele Hill and Scoop Jackson both need a new shtick.
March 26th, 2008 at 2:56 pm
What the hell is a Sheriff Clergy? Priest with a gun, awwaa WHAT???
March 26th, 2008 at 2:56 pm
@CBH49er:
It’s BS and just plain stupid that people think the cover of Vogue is racist. Are people really that bored and that bitchy to start such a dumb theory?
March 26th, 2008 at 2:57 pm
Kathy Ireland was my all time favorite back when I subscribed, but I think Elle has aged better
March 26th, 2008 at 2:57 pm
If McCain’s not-that-cute daughter is enough to swing your vote, maybe you shouldn’t be allowed to vote. Maybe you should check out #1, option c, since that statement is 100% true. not to get too political here, but I think McCain is a scumbag (that’s a personal, not political assessment).
March 26th, 2008 at 2:57 pm
Jemele Hill needs A schtick, any schtick.
Beating the drum of racism is not a schtick.
It is a disgrace.
March 26th, 2008 at 2:58 pm
isnt Elle banging some 20 year old guy? i love her as well
the body is one hot cougar
March 26th, 2008 at 2:58 pm
@EF – Only Jemele Hill. I wonder how much her editors are pushing on her to write these stories.
March 26th, 2008 at 2:59 pm
jemele hill is too stupid to write about anything for anyone, much less for ESPN
March 26th, 2008 at 2:59 pm
The Nike Sparqs equipment looks really great, but 95% of the people who are going to spend too much money and buy it are going to fall into one of two categories: 1) They don’t need special unique equipment because they don’t push themselves to start with or 2) Don’t know how to use anything besides the cones and medicine ball.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:00 pm
I remember when Jemelle first got hired for Page 2, she wrote about how race is only an issue in like 1% of sports stories, so I wrote her and asked if she was only going to write about race 1% of the time? She said yes, ha ha, maybe, kind of, not really, no.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:01 pm
“Instead of offering a concrete plan to address the crisis at all levels, McCain promised to take the same hands off approach that President Bush used to lead us into this crisis,†Howard Dean, the Democratic National Committee chairman, said in a statement. In his speech, Mr. McCain did not provide specifics about any immediate plans to deal with the crisis.
The Democrats criticizing someone for not having a concrete plan? What concrete plans has Barack Obama proposed to end poverty, lower tuition, end the war on terror, and the other miracles he is going to produce?
March 26th, 2008 at 3:01 pm
“Dear God, people are claiming the LeBron/Giselle cover is racist?
Sometimes I hate this country.” CBH
Don’t hate the country. Hate the tiny minority of magazine editors and tv producers that try to create controversy out of anything. “A white woman standing next to a black man??!?!?!? Racism!!!!!”
For christsakes, Klum is married to a black man in real life.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:01 pm
Elle >>>>>>>>>>>>> Kathy Ireland
By the way, the people at Vogue owe a great debt of gratitude to Jemele Hill. If she wouldn’t have bitched about it, few people in this group would have known that LeBron was on the cover of the magazine.
1) I’d take Ireland 10 times out of 10, and on Sundays
2) Actually, a CBS blogger wrote on the topic a few days before her, and it was picked up in political circles … but not sports ones. We did link it here.

Whitlock calls tattoos a prison and gang thing. Um…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tattoo#History
March 26th, 2008 at 3:03 pm
Personally, I think the proposed NFL hair rule hass more of a racist angle than this shit (and that one is tenuous at best). Has there ever been a white player since Pat Tillman whose hair has covered his name? But let’s complain about a fricking magazine cover. Great……….
March 26th, 2008 at 3:03 pm
The Jemele Hills and Scoop Jacksons of the world are all about race all the time. While a reasonable person looks at the Vogue cover and sees Lebron James and Giselle Butterface, Jemele sees black guy and white woman and feels the need to project decades old stereotypes on the rest of us! Will we ever move away from this ridiculous mode of thought? Nah.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:06 pm
i think the cover does resemble the King Kong movie poster. but i don’t think its racist. i think LeBron would enjoy the comparison to King Kong, not a gorilla or whatever Kong was. First of all, he is a beast in the NBA. Second of all, Lebron has stated that he wants to be a worldwide icon. King Kong most certainly was a huge movie.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:06 pm
Sterlin,
too clarify, McCain did do c, but i don’t know if that was said during the debate. part of the reason i find him to be a dick.

March 26th, 2008 at 3:07 pm
You mean change and hope don’t qualify as plans?
March 26th, 2008 at 3:09 pm
If they just included Jennifer Lopez and Lucy Lui, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:09 pm
Barack’s plans are explicitly laid out for all to see here.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:09 pm
Kathy Ireland is the first woman I ever jerked off too and that Magazine was my inspiration….I know too much info but that is how special Kathy Ireland is to me…Job well done.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:11 pm
Ugh…about tattoos being a prison thing…I have no idea where he would get that.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:11 pm
I bet it was easy to give a roman war helmet to a magazine cover too.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:12 pm
@ cbh49er
tax, tax, and tax
March 26th, 2008 at 3:13 pm
Jamelle Hill is saying the LeGlobal Icon picture looks like the King Kong movie cover from the original motion picture. And it does. And it COULD be taken as mildly offensive if it was their intent to make it look like that cover. It is a stretch, but it is an opinion. I love how people talk about how freedom isnt free and then tell people like Jamelle and Obamas priest to shut up. Freedom to speak is freedom to speak whether you agree with the speech or not.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:16 pm
Rachel Hunter > Kathy Ireland
March 26th, 2008 at 3:16 pm
janet reno is her father! ha, now that is funny shit
March 26th, 2008 at 3:17 pm
Whitlock is the man, great article. As usual, grandpa (McCain) is confused by all these new fangled business workin’s. While I’m not thrilled that my tax money is bailing out bad business decisions, it’s better than the 21st century equivalent of a bank run. The NewYorker has a nice writup on how some institutions are simply too big to fail.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:17 pm
@Magglio
Jamelle and Pastor Wright can speak all they want. They are protected by the 1st amendment and aren’t being imprisoned by our government. However, one (this goes for everybody) is not free from the reprecussions of scrutiny.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:17 pm
Maggs with a triumphant return. welcome back buddy. great point.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:17 pm
Jemele Hill and Obama’s spiritual adviser of 20 years can talk all they want. And people can call them out on their race-baiting all day long too. And I don’t know about you, but the more we hear from the good reverend, the better.
“God damn America!!!”
March 26th, 2008 at 3:19 pm
Magglio – I’m not telling anyone to shut up. I’m just sick of everything having to be about identity politics in this country. Jemele Hill is welcome to write what she wants (albeit badly), but this sort of nonsense only serves to divide people further.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:21 pm
It’s not a freedom of speech issue. Not even close. Her speech is directed in particular ways; I’m sure she’d tell you that she writes these kinds of things to expose racism in America in an attempt to eradicate it. However, she’s actually perpetuating racism and doing her race (and everyone else as well) a disservice. That’s why it’s a good idea to tell her to shut up. She’s incompetent to the point that she’s hurting everyone who she’s trying to help. It’s disgusting that ESPN has given her a pulpit, when her body of work suggests that she’s worthy of a blog on a myspace page.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:22 pm
The thing about racism is you don’t know about it unless you have lived through it. And you have no valid opinion about it unless you have lived through it. You can condemn what he rev said all you want but you have no frame of refrence. The fact is you probably got through your youth from suckling your parents teet, and them from theirs and so on. The money flowed down from generation to generation helping you as it will help yours. With some unfortunates that had to be held as slaves, they were given a fresh start at $0.00 some hundreds of years after your parents (who probably did not start at $0.00). So there is your lesson on how to approach racism from the other side of the coin AND how to approach the rev’s words from off the pulpit.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:22 pm
@Magglio–Freedom isn’t free, there’s a hefty fuckin’ fee
/greatest song of all time
March 26th, 2008 at 3:24 pm
Not everybody adheres to a ridiculous theory of cultural relativism like that. True and false can transcend race, and everybody can bring something to the discussion as long as people are looking for true and false, right and wrong, instead of ridiculous standards where right and wrong depend on the race of the speaker.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:25 pm
I use to love Kathy Ireland…..Then she dated Kevin Greene.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:25 pm
I thought freedom cost a buck o five?
March 26th, 2008 at 3:25 pm
Um, hey Maggs–no offense, but you can go back into hiding if you’d like.
/On behalf of the TBL message board
March 26th, 2008 at 3:26 pm
Tell me Maggs, what “frame of reference” do I need to say that this statement of his (among many others) is utter bullshit?
March 26th, 2008 at 3:26 pm
You’re right, CBH. You’re right. And if we don’t all chip in, we’ll never pay that bill.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:27 pm
Kathy Ireland dated Kevin Greene, damn that was big for that guy. i hope TBL reads that and thinks twice about his Kathy > Elle comment
March 26th, 2008 at 3:27 pm
@atlanta
Hey that is just like, my opinion man. Let me take a stab and say you are a white male age 25-40? So what exactly do you know about racism? You know you don’t like hearing about it, but you have never been a victim of it.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
@atl- dont speak on my behalf
@maggs- forget that guy
March 26th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
Nothing like moving past racism by interjecting past transgressions.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
The Onion is fun.
http://www.theonion.com/content/news/black_guy_asks_nation_for_change
March 26th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
On the flip side, by your “thinking,” anyone who has been a victim of racism is a Ph.D. in Sociology.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:30 pm
CoRM – Whitlock implied that the origins of tattoos were prisons and gangs. That is incorrect.
However, I certainly wouldn’t disagree if he had said that tattoos in African American culture have a strong link to prison and gang traditions.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:30 pm
I have to go with Tyra Banks cover as my favorite. It has lost some luster now that she has proven to be completely insane but back in the day that was the best.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:30 pm
@MIKE NYC
It is an opinion of his, a conspiracy theory. Just as many think our own government brought down the twin towers… YOU may think it is utter BS. They may not. Hey man, I like cheeseburgers. You may not, but there is no way to convince me that I don’t like the taste of cheeseburgers no matter how much you may hate them.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
LeBron should apologize to every black person individually.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
@Maggs,
I was born a poor black child.
Seriously, if you must know, I’m a 30 year old of hispanic descent. My grandmother, a full-blooded Costa Rican, raised my mother and her two sisters on a paltry salary earned from keeping children all day long. And my parents raised my sister and I on a teacher’s salary (dad) and substitute teacher’s salary (mom). Not too much teat to suckle in either case, so your generalization (that you say is your opinion, even though your exact words were “the fact is”) is incorrect in this case.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:32 pm
@yysa- oh yeah, i remember that one. biscuits were huge on her. Chris Webber hit that though
March 26th, 2008 at 3:32 pm
412, i think you made Maggs’s point. he is saying everyone is entitled to say whatever it is they feel like saying. he isn’t saying it’s right or wrong, just their opinion. if it hurts their cause because of poor logic or whatever else, so be it.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:32 pm
Can’t we all just get along?!?!?
/Rodney King
March 26th, 2008 at 3:33 pm
He’s also saying that you can’t change anyone’s mind on anything, which applies only to the most ignorant people on the planet, and nobody else.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:33 pm
Bacon Cheeseburgers are the fucking best. That is not an opinion. That be straight up fact.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:33 pm
people should not talk about race, religion, or even politics on here
its just going to start a bunch of bullshit
March 26th, 2008 at 3:33 pm
Chris Webber retired today.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:34 pm
I know about racism. I know I’m white and Rev. WRight thinks I’m the cause of a lot of his problems.

Wow…we’re inching closer and closer to the Chewbacca Defense.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:34 pm
I think if you asked the photographer they would tell you that they were attempting to capture a King Kong like image. Kong does have a lot of racist imagery. But, at the end of the day its a picture of two very rich people who probably put less thought into the shot then what we are spending blogging about it.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:35 pm
I dont know KC I think Bacon Double-Cheeseburgers are the fucking best.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:35 pm

he just signed with them like two weeks ago, damn
he must of needed the weed money
March 26th, 2008 at 3:35 pm
March 26th, 2008 at 3:35 pm
@atlanta
I took a stab, missed. I didn’t really mean to broad stroke here. My point is why can’t the rev speak his mind? Why is Obama being hurt by it? It not even be his opinion. Why can’t Jamelle feel hurt by a magazine cover? Why is it stupid and not relevant if she does?
March 26th, 2008 at 3:35 pm
I would agree with irishmafia, but in order to do that I would have to have an opinion on something.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:36 pm
high five Irish.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
“Freedom Isn’t Free” is quite possibly the funniest song ever…
I’m agreeing with Magglio here, most of us don’t know or have never been a victim of racism. I’ve seen racial discrimination happen with my own two eyes and it was awkward beyond explanation so much so that I actually wanted to ask the cop why I didn’t get in trouble for the same exact offense… thankfully a fight broke out at the bar down the street, the cop ran that way, and nobody ended up getting arrested. Point being, it was awkward and I definitely WASN’T the victim. I can’t imagine how people who are treated in an unjust manner must feel. This country talks about equality for all and blah blah but it isn’t that way, to think otherwise is ignorant.
That being said: people like Jemele Hill and Whitlock (who I happen to like) sometimes actually cause more harm than good when it comes to race by constantly writing articles about it.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
@Maggs–the thing is, I agree with your main point. Jemele Hill can say or feel however she wants. It was the broad stroke statements that I disagreed with. So, no harm no foul.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
Getting a bit heavy here.
Let’s lighten up and look at some hot tail.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:38 pm

March 26th, 2008 at 3:38 pm
Ooops!
Now there is no arguing with that logic!
March 26th, 2008 at 3:39 pm
“people should not talk about race, religion, or even politics on here
its just going to start a bunch of bullshit”
Yep. This has devolved into Sociology 101 study group attended by a bunch of drunk freshman.
JB – A hat tip to you, sir. Double Bacon Cheeseburgers are the best.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:41 pm
@Mike NYC
You are constantly attacking Obama on here, why? This is a post about Jamelle Hill and you bring up the Obama rev? Why?
March 26th, 2008 at 3:42 pm
Ahh yes my alma mater still holds the top spot
March 26th, 2008 at 3:42 pm
Irish…I used to not agree with that sentiment but I am beginning to agree with you…its the same people who say the same things and nothing gets accomplished…we stopped having progressive conversation awhile ago…instead of talking about things, its calling one guy a commie and another an old man…caring to much about what other people they know say and try to pinpoint it to that person like its the end all be all and never bringing up why you really don’t like the person. The tax brake for the the short sells and the payback checks mean more to me as a person than what some guy in says to his congregation in Chicago or what the head of University that another candidate speaks at believes…let’s get back to what’s important…Sports and Tits…because all races, religions and people of whatever political party can unify on that.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:42 pm
since we are gonna lighten up, anyone wanna play fantasy baseball on the worldwide leader? I need to fill 2 teams to draft tongiht
March 26th, 2008 at 3:42 pm

March 26th, 2008 at 3:43 pm

The Rev can speak his mind all he wants, but people are subjected to reprecussions of their statements as well.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:43 pm

March 26th, 2008 at 3:44 pm
I like Big Kahuna Burgers, you know that Hawaiian burger joint.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:44 pm
@CBH – Just read it. Hilarious. Does that make me racist? maybe….oh wait I voted for Obama. So I guess not.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:45 pm
To tie the race discussion to the tits discussion:
Coming from the whitest of the white, that Tyra Banks cover was the absolute, no doubt about it best swimsuit issue cover. On that, there will be no discussion.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:45 pm
CBH, that is very funny. i read it on Saturday in print form while eating lunch. i would think of it while drinking and watching BBall throughout the day, and bust out laughing. my friends all thought i was high.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:46 pm
Hmmm, upon review, there’s probably a jizz joke somewhere in my last post, but I leave it to the more intellectually snarky on this board.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:46 pm
I don’t think some of are saying that racism doesn’t exist in America. However, I’m saying that I can pretty much predict what Jemele and Scoop are going to write about a week before it is published. And most of the time I predict in jest. Like Whitlock would suggest, they are “bojangling” a hell of a lot more than LeBron is.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:46 pm
Aaaaand ….. the first person to bring up Obama’s Reverend on this thread? Why, it was Magglio Merkin himself!
Maybe you should be asking the question to yourself instead.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:46 pm
Kathy Ireland was the goddess of my teenage years (and Kelly Preston before she married John Travolta). TBL, great cover choice.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:48 pm
The new spicy bacon cheeseburger from Wendy’s is incredible, it combined the greatness of the Baconator with the greatness of the Jalapeno Cheddar Burger.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:48 pm
CBH..I just spit my water on my computer screen..funny article…
March 26th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
I’m partial to Elle.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
Nino…Kelly Preston was smoking hot after she married John Travolta too…the sex scene in the beginning of Jerry McGuire is awesome.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
The412, thank you. I miss that Elle cover
March 26th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
Im almost ashamed to say I agree with Jemele Hill.
But I always agree with the main Man, Whitlock. Best sportswriter/columnist going today.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
This is the cover I remember.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
When did Kathy ireland and Kelly Preston get ugly???
They are still smoking hot.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
@Mike NYC
Who attacks Obama at every post.
The post could be about Bobby Knight at you somehow relate it to “Obama sucks!!!” I mean what is it with you? Give it a rest. Or go to a polictal site. It is just getting old. Why are you trying to paste your opinions onto others? We get it, you don’t like Obama. Ha ha ha way cool man!
March 26th, 2008 at 3:53 pm
@roman- i didnt know that was her in that movie, didnt she show tits in that scene?
@cbh- those wendys burgers are the shit, gotta have a frosty though from Wendys
March 26th, 2008 at 3:54 pm
the bacconator
March 26th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
This SI cover is pretty awesome as well.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:56 pm
But the irony is that Jemele Hill helped guarantee that this will be the biggest selling Vogue in some time (although I concede TBL’s point that she wasn’t the first to do it). In a country in which we generally use the marketplace to accept and reject ideas, I’m thinking she would have been better served ignoring it. This just tells Vogue that what they did was right.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:56 pm
Kelly Preston was also pretty hot in “Mischief”.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:56 pm
But Mags, why did you bring up the Reverend?
And it was CBH who brought up Obama, I just added a hope/change quip to the mix. Didn’t realize the Obama worshipers were so sensitive!
March 26th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
No, no, no, Im not implying that she got ugly, no way!
The scene in Jerry Maquire is classic. I was just recalling her from those teeny bopper movies, she was always topless or something in them, great memories and great godzilla biscuits.
March 26th, 2008 at 3:58 pm

Jesus man, because you attacked Obama from post one. Sorry my post should have read “who attacks Obama on every fucking post?” My apologies. Oh and nice touch with the “worshipers” you may need to cool off a bit. PLease just dont come in here banging your right wing drum, nobody wants to hear it so save it for your buddies at the country club.

Kevin Greene, football player, long blond hair, Rams, Pittsburgh and Carolina Panthers LB.
March 26th, 2008 at 4:02 pm
I actually found out Kevin Greene was dating Kathy Ireland at the NFL experience during Super Bowl XXX here in AZ. He walked past some buddies and I with the fine Ms. Ireland at his side….bastard
March 26th, 2008 at 4:02 pm
RWH – I also like at the end of the scene when she says something to the effect of “You know, I’d be in a threesome with you and another girl. I’m not into girls, but I’d do that with you.” Outstanding.
March 26th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
Can’t talk about B. Hussein Obama without referencing this remarkable site.
Anyway…back to what’s really important.
March 26th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
Elle was my favorite, wearing the white tank on the boat, almost showing through. Great stuff.
March 26th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
Amazingly, Sofia Vergara has like a 10-year old son.
March 26th, 2008 at 4:05 pm
TBL…I am thinking we need to do a Kelly Preston retrospective in the near future…from topless teeny-bopper to Scientology MILF the career of this piece of ass needs a post.
March 26th, 2008 at 4:05 pm

March 26th, 2008 at 4:06 pm
Oh boy. I attacked Obama from “post one”? What does that even mean?
Maggs, check out this site for a good laugh. On second thought, maybe not – you might have a heart attack, poking fun at your messiah!
March 26th, 2008 at 4:06 pm
Screw you left wing commies.
March 26th, 2008 at 4:07 pm
412…I disagree with you first point…but I am putting my full throated support behind your second thought…Job Well Done.

Kelly Preston biscuit movie
March 26th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
@MIKe NYC
GIVE IT A REST. So you are saying you actually like McCain? A man who once ran independant! Sounds like you just run on party lines and don’t vote for someone who you believe in. Shame on you. Democracy is lost on people like yourself. Hell I don’t mind McCain, bestter than the child we have now. Let me guess, you like George!? Because he has done sucj a great job. I din’t vote for him. I bet you did.
March 26th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
My first time watching Jerry McGuire was with my mom. The sex scene was very embarassing.
March 26th, 2008 at 4:13 pm
Mags’ world came crashing down around him with this news last week.
Mags, relax… Have a cheeseburger. If…you like cheeseburgers.
March 26th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
Anyone that votes strictly on party lines can fist themselves. Lets keep this blog filled with people that fall in the 20% shade that is growing yearly and not diminishing left 40 and right 40.
March 26th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
@412
Why am I being told to relax? This fuck is telling me I “worship” Obama. Attack someones religious beliefs and you cross the line in my opinion.
March 26th, 2008 at 4:16 pm
and that is why it should never be brought up on this site
March 26th, 2008 at 4:16 pm
Heh. How does that saying go again? “Never argue with a fool, they will lower you to their level and then beat you with experience.”
I’ll take the hint. But for the record, the two times I’ve voted, it was for Nader and Kerry. But luckily I am not 18 or 22 anymore.
March 26th, 2008 at 4:16 pm
Ok…fellas…your points have been made…call off the dogs…
March 26th, 2008 at 4:17 pm

dick joke.
March 26th, 2008 at 4:19 pm
@Mags…and most everyone else – We’re getting a bit touchy here. No need to get into name-calling. I think we’re all adults here. We’re all educated to some extent and we all have opinions. We either need to be able to be respectful or just agree not to agree.
That’s just my opinion…I could be wrong.
March 26th, 2008 at 4:19 pm
Amen
ahh dammit
March 26th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
Sorry, YYSA.
I’m not fighting anyone re: that statement. Just had to get ‘er off my chest.

March 26th, 2008 at 4:58 pm
Biscuits
March 26th, 2008 at 6:05 pm
@asf- +1 for the “The Jerk” reference.
March 26th, 2008 at 8:24 pm
I would like to make a couple of points.
1)Duke is ranked 30th on the top 50 hottest colleges. That is complete utter BULLSHIT. I went there, and a Duke 10 is a UNC 5-6 (excluding the tennis players). That, plus the fact NC State is on the list (State girls for the most part have horse faces…though they do have godzilla biscuits) completely voids the list.
2)Bacon Cheeseburgers are awesome. And the Duke Chronicle once had a column that referred to bacon cheeseburgers as Jew Burger Deluxes (because they violate kosher rules somewhat fierce). Now that was alot more offensive (and funnier too) than the silly Vogue cover.
March 26th, 2008 at 10:29 pm
Wow…still can’t believe the cover of a fucking Vogue magazine could incite the slightest bit of controversy!
Whitlock nailed this one.
March 26th, 2008 at 11:47 pm
Um, right. Except anybody who passed Stats 101 knows that a campus with similar academic standards in a similar climate with a shitload of women in general is going to have essentially the same exact talent.
