Baltimore’s Jones: Don’t Call Me Pac-Man
Baseball April 8th. 2008, 4:21pm
The setting: Monday. 8th inning. Depressingly-empty Camden Yards. Richie Sexson of the Mariners is at-bat, and lines out to Baltimore CF Adam Jones. We’ll allow a reader to take it from here:
Some guy in the bleachers bellows out, “Way to go, Pac Man.” Jones doesn’t turn around, but wags his finger towards the guy, as if to say, “Don’t confuse me with the other Adam Jones.” The whole bleacher section cracked up, which is something you haven’t seen O’s fans do at Camden Yards in a decade!
So what you’re saying is that Adam Jones is unlikely to be making it rain at Fantasies anytime soon?

They keep wining at this rate and Camden Yards won’t be empty for long.

I go through the same thing every time I go to the video store just because my name is Paul Reubens. It gets old.

I definitely want to make it to Fantasies, but it’s in Baltimore…. little sketchy.

I think Avon Barksdale owns Fantasies.

@CoRM: He actually does own it. Wee Bay use to frequent it quite a bit.

I told those fudge-packers I liked Michael Bolton’s music.

This guy’s a huge prospect. He’ll be sick. Already great with the glove.
April 8th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
If he’s half as good as Luke Scott has been so far I will be happy.
April 8th, 2008 at 4:47 pm
Oh, Michael. That’s not right.

CBH – Fuckin right they are. The bullpen duo of Schoenweis and Heilmann blow it again. That’s 9 wins in a row against the Metropolitans.

So what’s your favorite song? It’s gotta be twice as hard for you, having the same name and all.
April 8th, 2008 at 4:57 pm
That’s the Adam Jones they got in the Bedard deal, right?
April 8th, 2008 at 5:02 pm
Correct, and I think they got Luke Scott in the Tejada deal.

For my money, I don’t know if it gets any better than when he sings ‘When a Man Loves a Woman’.

Fantasies no. Lust? Aboslutely.
