“Let’s hug it out, you little bitches,” to commence the National Anthem.

The most priceless part of this Roseanne-like National Anthem controversy is that prior to grabbing the mic, Piven and the Cubs agreed he would alter his zeitgeist-capturing line to “Let’s hug it out, Cubs fans.”

Nothing like the ballsy, I-do-as-I-please machismo of an actor who refuses to adhere to rules. We’re going to say what Piven was correctly thinking – he would have come off as a pussy who kowtowed to The Man had he gone with the line the Cubs gave him.
