Maurice Williams, Sidelined With … The Hell?

A reader asks: What exactly is pubic symphisitis? Why would anyone care? Well, it’s because that’s the reason Milwaukee Bucks point guard Maurice Williams was sideline this weekend, according to NBA.com. If you have just eaten lunch, do not click on this link that describes – in rather gory detail, and with photos that may not be safe for work – the painful conditions that Mr. Williams was going through last weekend. (It appears as if NBA.com may have spelled the injury wrong, or said injury can be spelled two ways.)
The only part of the wikipedia explanation that makes any sense is this: “… results from instability or from abnormal pelvic mechanics.” That could mean a number of things, but most importantly, we wish Mo Williams the best, and we hope he’s resting comfortably under the watchful eye of the best nurse his $7.75 million salary could buy.

Next year instead of a Culture tournament you can do gross injuries…we have this, Felix Pie’s testicle problem and Kaz Matsui’s anal fissure. The trifecta.

On another note, why is there this new phenomenon to put very literal things an injury report…couldn’t DND groin suffice…Same thing with Kaz Matsui’s anal fizzures…while funny..do we need to know that much info?

Did I hear correctly yesterday during the Indians/Red Sox game that the Yankees put Wilson Betemit on the DL because of pinkeye? Or did I completely hallucinate?

I’d heard about them, but I had never just sat down and looked at the Bucks’ roster. Jesus Christ, that team is horrible. I can’t believe they win 30% of their games.

The link is for the Wikipedia page of the pubic symphysis, which is the area of Mo Williams’ disease, not the disease itself. The -itis ending indicates inflammation, so he probably either has osteitis pubis (inflammation of the pubic bone) or degenerative join disease of the symphysis (inflammation of the joint, not the bone itself).

I’m not much for booing unless something really pisses me off. I think Dusty is a good guy that handled some things poorly in his time here. My real issue is that I have Harang on my fantasy team, conflict of interest!
