Does anyone else think Cheryl Cole is the type of woman who has perfect penmanship? … if you’re a serious procrastinator and didn’t do your taxes yet, here’s how fantasy sports can lower your taxes … a female reader has a question for our male readers: why do so many people have private Myspace profiles? … a reader wants everyone to know about this weather girl … we’re bringing the email mailbag back today, people! … it’s becoming popular and comical to take quotes from real estate cheerleaders, and chart them as the real estate market tanks … the Pope is here, clean up your act! …
At the risk of overdoing it with Nick Saban (unpossible!), he went off in a TV press conference the other day. Story here. Video here. (Roll Tide!)
Gotta give it up for Purdue University, which is doing a fantastic job in helping its students to download free music. (Torrent Freak)
In a mini USA Today profile, Erin Andrews is compared to Anna Kournikova and called TV Sports first “It Girl.” (USA Today)
Would have been nice to see Candace Parker on the cover of SI. (Cosellout)
For the first time since Pat Tillman’s death, his widow speaks. (Arizona Republic)
It’s the Ombudsman, so we link it. (ESPN)
As usual, Sir Charles is right - if Isiah had pulled what Pat Riley did (abandon the team), he would have been destroyed by the media. (Watchdog)
Is somebody on the New York Rangers dating the President’s daughter? (Page Six)
No drama between Carmelo and his baby’s momma. (People)
Baseball games are dangerous: Mets fan leaving Shea last night falls two stories to his death. (NY Post)
Tiger Woods went to his website to announce that he had knee surgery and he’ll be out 4-6 weeks, which just made a bunch of golf tournament sponsors cringe about the prospect of crummy ratings. (LA Times)
Urinating in public is one thing; urinating in the stands at a NHL playoff game is another. (Lion in Oil)

Of course there’s no drama…she’s on the gravy train.
BTW, Tiger kills after coming back from knees surgery. Golf.com did a story, he’s just prepping for the next master.

oops…should have read…next major. It’s pretty early.
April 16th, 2008 at 8:34 am
Now that is a quality pic of her TBL. Well done
April 16th, 2008 at 8:37 am
I agree. Usually not a Cheryl fan, but the hourglass in that picture is fantastic
April 16th, 2008 at 8:37 am
Re the weather girl - type “Jill Nicolini” into Google Images.
April 16th, 2008 at 8:39 am
I’d dip my pen in that ink.
April 16th, 2008 at 8:39 am
i wouldnt be surprised if she was completely illiterate. i can assure you John Hancock she is not.

The ombudsman appears to be a good writer. She occasionally “rips” ESPN for what they do, but if she’s going to defend ESPN (like for Jemele Hill) or give lavish praise (for “Black Magic”), even if it’s deserved praise, what’s the point? The ombudsman should never praise ESPN. That’s not the point, imo, of an ombudsman. Plus, it’s not like ESPN is ever going to heed any of her advice.
I think we are quick to say how good this ombudsman is, when she really doesn’t do anything of good.

who cares if she can read or write…she needs to be good at 2 maybe 3 things to make it through life happy…
April 16th, 2008 at 8:50 am
Scott Gomez certainly isn’t the ranger player dating Bush’s daughter. He’s gay.
April 16th, 2008 at 8:51 am
TBL links are heavy on the cute girls today, I see–even Pat Tillman’s widow and the Bush twin are lovely. But please–can we all get over Erin Andrews now? Yes, I was on the bandwagon, but I’m off until the crowd thins a little bit. It’s getting ridiculous by now.
As for your female reader (readers? reader? :-p just messing), I find it’s mostly girls who make their myspaces private because of strange guys hitting on them. I do make my “real” Myspace private, because I work with a lot of people from the U-21 set and don’t want them creating drama on my page. But the MCBias Myspace (mwcb is the ID) I keep open so that other sports bloggers/friends will find it. It’s tough…there’s a fine line between avoiding weirdos/having privacy and being an elitist Internet snob.

That was my first thought when I saw that pic - I wonder if this chick writes neatly?
I’m sure her cockmanship far exceeds her penmanship.
April 16th, 2008 at 8:55 am
And Jenna Bush > the other twin.
April 16th, 2008 at 8:57 am
take JEBUS recommendation at your own risk! NSFW — I’m packing my desk if anyone needs me.
April 16th, 2008 at 8:59 am
Had to watch to American Idol with the wife last night…Maria Carey had a very nice sweater on.
April 16th, 2008 at 8:59 am
Sophia Bush > Jenna Bush > the other twin
Speaking of, TBL, we need some Sophia Bush!

@Nick,
I thought that the ombudswoman was going to use the “Black Magic” as a proper way to contrast how ESPN does both good and bad about race. But then she has Jemele’s back for some reason, and she completely ignores Rob Parker’s racist tirade about how Hansbrough and Love will be bad pros because they’re white. I also thought that her column this month was useless. I’ve only said that one other time, when she didn’t address my (and others’) complaints about their coverage of the Rich Rodriguez hire and the pro-USC BCS coverage, and dedicated her entire column to Roger Clemens.

Dirty Sanchez, now that would be a great matchup for the polls. Barbara or Jenna? After a rigorous examination via Google Search, it’s Barbara for me.
Oh, and USA Today did a profile on an ESPN employee? Really? That never happens. /sarcasm

Your lips to the internet’s ears.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:04 am
Nick - I’m w/ you on the WWL Ombudsman. She is a perfectly good writer wasted in a meaningless role. Conversely, three-quarters of the people who have Blogspot accounts bring more insight to their writing than does Jemele Hill.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:07 am
Still an Erin Andrews fan, but she did look less than spectacular at the Gators scrimmage this past weekend.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:12 am
Jermele Hill is a race-baiter.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:16 am
I love how the other pros on the PGA just let Finchem bitchslap them… “Of course, we’re disappointed when Tiger is unable to compete in a PGA Tour event…”
They’re happy to ride Tiger’s moneytrain and finish 4th, making 125k.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:18 am
412, layoff Erin Andrews, her grandma made her that dress.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:22 am
WC…yea, but wouldn’t you? mickeltits made more $$$ last year in winnings (not endorsements, where he makes an astronomical amount) than Jack Nicklaus did in his career.
getting bitch slapped isn’t that big of a deal when you’re rollin in it. of course, mickeltits, els, adam scott, justin rose and all the other challengers could, you know, practice more and try and knock tiger off, but then they wouldnt get their vacation or corporate outings.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:26 am
Jill Nicolini is not only hot..she is cool and funny..she does the Opie and Anthony show from time to time..they have one of their TV’s labeled Jill TV and on the Ch 11 news can be on with Jill..and she is the Traffic girl not the Weather girl..and not even the chick in the helicopter..they have her in studio looking at a map…awesome

spencer, you seem pretty knowledgable on the golf end, can you explain why people are still so high on Ernie Els all the time? I think he won a tournament earlier this year, but wasn’t that his first one in quite some time, like since 2004 or something (I’m only talking PGA victories here)? Don’t get me wrong I like the guy just as much as everyone else, but it seems like every major they talk about guys that could challenge Tiger, or whoever and they always mention his name. I guess since he’s won 3 majors he should still be considered a threat, but it been since 2002, and that was the British Open.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:30 am
the Ombudsman may be the hottest chick you linked us up to today.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:39 am
arkbadger…golf is a little tricky. els didnt win before the honda since 2004, you were right about that, but look at his track record in majors. he’s routinely on the final leaderboard at the masters and PGA Champs, he’s won a British Open and 2 US Opens, so he has the game. He’s always in contention when he plays in the US and his European track record is even more impressive.
he has an incredible game, even post-injury. his short game might only be paralleled by tiger and vijay (i think phil is on another planet, no sense in even bothering to bring him up) and he’s one of the longer players on tour. he can work the ball like nobody’s business too. plus, you have to understand his knee still isn’t healthy, he’s going thru a swing change with a new teacher AND a new equipment change (this is a huge deal - Titleist and Callaway are about as far apart philosophically as it gets). he’s behind the 8 ball, yet is still contending and playing decent golf.
i just think he’s too old to get back to where he was in the mid 90’s when he looked like an all-time great. the media loves him because he’s such a nice guy and really approachable. but he’s a lot like furyk…he’ll probably win 2-3 times per year, but he’s going to finish in the top-10 pretty much every time he tees it up.
he aint catchin tiger tho.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:39 am
So, I’m to take it urinating in the stands is wrong? Next you’re going to tell me having sex with the cleaning lady in my office is a fireable offense.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:43 am
Don’t her arms look pretty weird here??…..short? Kinda of like a T-Rex?
April 16th, 2008 at 9:52 am
Yeah, I knew he hadn’t been the same since he had that injury. I think the Furyk comparason is a pretty good one. Also, I had no idea that he changed equipment. That is a huge deal, even when it is the same manufacteror, at least in my opinion. I just got a new Taylor Made driver, replacing my burner that I have had for probably the past 5 years and it is hard as hell for me to put together even 3 or 4 decent drives in a row out at the drving range. I had a buddy in college that was from So. Africa and was on the golf team here and said Ernie was one of the nicest guys he had ever met.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:57 am
@ spencer - good Els analysis
@arkbadger - Chances are it isn’t your new driver that can’t hit 3 or 4 good drives in a row….I’m guessing it’s your swing
April 16th, 2008 at 9:58 am
ernie is great, and following him around, he’s just so laid back and it looks like he’s enjoying himself. ill always be a big ernie fan.
he switched to callaway in the middle of last year, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. but i can’t remember a guy switching companies so frequently. from lynx, to taylor made, to titleist, to callaway, back to TM, back to titleist, back to callawy…jeezus just make up your mind dude. callaway’s new wedges are fuckin legit tho.
April 16th, 2008 at 9:58 am
touche spidey, touche. Granted I’ve only had it about a week and been to the range with it twice, so it’s bound to get better.
April 16th, 2008 at 10:04 am
so, that TBL myspace thing is catching on?
April 16th, 2008 at 10:05 am
equipment changes are a big deal thats just as important as your swing. i have a lot of trouble hitting drivers that don’t have a diamana whiteboard 75g 40.5 inch shaft because of the kick point and torque or drivers with a lower than 9.5 degree launch angle. other shafts i play with i always slice it.
i mean, a lot of it is your swing, probably 95% of it, but to really play your best, your shit’s gotta be in order and fit to your individual swing.
April 16th, 2008 at 10:07 am
Hardly. I can tell he never checks it because I’ve been waiting to be made his friend for three months and he still hasn’t accepted. I mean, what other reason could he have for not…Ohhhhhhh.
April 16th, 2008 at 10:13 am
Wait, which profile? My real one, or TBL? The TBL one is checked daily; my real one, not so much
April 16th, 2008 at 10:43 am
I don’t know how to answer this without being rude to the big boss.
Ahem. Cough cough.
It was a joke.
April 16th, 2008 at 11:52 am
TBL, your Sabanticism is reaching LeBetardesque proportions.
April 16th, 2008 at 11:55 am
The Jill Nicolini “Dance Fridays” Youtube clips might need to become a regular feature.
April 16th, 2008 at 12:15 pm
Sophia Bush looks great in the Hitcher, that’s a good cable movie.
April 16th, 2008 at 12:21 pm
Jill Nicolini has taken the dumb blonde with big jugs weather girl skill to new heights. Kudos!
