LeDunk
Uncategorized April 19th. 2008, 6:38pmPretty sweet.
Sorry for the big delay…I can’t believe I missed a double OT game. I should resign. I did play my first round of mini-golf of the season. And I had ice cream. Now I have to go outside and play jarts. It’s just too nice outside.

Sickest shit ever
April 19th, 2008 at 7:25 pm
wow
April 19th, 2008 at 7:26 pm
That’s spectacular.
I know I’m in the minority on this one, but i think in terms of sheer athletic ability, there’s nothing in all of sports like a slam dunk.
April 19th, 2008 at 7:30 pm
Forgot to say – I’m really sad that even I sold LeBron short. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
I think he’s the best player in the game and I feel like a fool for picking against him in round one. Maybe the Wiz still win the series, but just watching the highlights now … it is obvious the regular season didn’t mean all that much to the guy.
Personally, i hope he takes the Cavs to the finals again.
April 19th, 2008 at 7:30 pm
New Orleans Arena is half full. For the Hornets first playoff game since they’ve moved there.
Tell me again why it’s not this team moving to OKC?
April 19th, 2008 at 7:34 pm
TBL: Glad to have you back on board. However, he did 30-7-7 this year, something only Jordan and Oscar have ever done. So really, the reg. season didn’t mean that much to him?
April 19th, 2008 at 7:39 pm
what a shot by Paul at the end of the 1st. But goodness West looks nervous and Chandler still has no touch after like five years in the league. We all know Peja’s a choker and MoPete is no starter … Paul really might have to do this himself, and the thing is, he’s that good
NICK – Exactly. I didn’t watch 82 of his games, or even 41 of them, but can you imagine if he had that postseason fire all year? He knows the Cavs can sneak into the playoffs and he’ll carry them. It would not surprise me if LBJ averaged a trip-doub for the season.
April 19th, 2008 at 7:42 pm
TBL, don’t feel stupid for picking against LeBron. Yeah, he’s probably the most athletic in the game right now. But, it’s like watching Dominique Wilkins. He was the Human Highlight Film and he never made it to the conference finals. In fact, he won first a round series only a few times.
April 19th, 2008 at 7:45 pm
@gonzo: He’s much better than ‘Nique ever was…but let’s consider ‘Nique. How good were his Hawks’ supporting casts compared to Bird? Or Magic? Or Moses? Or Isiah? Those 80s teams were stacked. Just looking at his teammates, why would you expect him to make a Finals?
April 19th, 2008 at 7:52 pm
Nick, my point is, although the East teams aren’t as stacked as they were in the 80’s, Lebron has never had a stacked or semi-stacked team. Not his fault, but I know everyone WANTS the Cavs to go to the finals and even win it, it’s a similar situation as Nique.
April 19th, 2008 at 7:54 pm
Because David Stern can’t find anyone to kill George Shinn quietly, and he doesn’t want him to alienate yet another market.
April 19th, 2008 at 8:10 pm
One dunk and now the Cavs are Finals bound? Hoppers.
April 19th, 2008 at 8:13 pm
Nah, they’ll still get beat by the Celtics — still rooting for a KG injury, though.
April 19th, 2008 at 8:45 pm
Is it just me or are the Mavs getting to every loose ball first?
So the Jazz are 1 point dogs … any thoughts on letting the Suns cover ride? I know Utah can’t play on the road – but it won at Houston (no Yao).
No Alston tonight, which usually would be a good thing for Houston, cept he’s had a good season. How old is Bobby Jackson, who starts in his place? But Aaron Brooks is the backup, meaning he’ll see minutes. Yikes. How will old man B Jack guard Deron Williams?
It’s virtually a pick’em, and with Utah clearly being the better team, it’s tough for me to pass on them. I’ll hang up now.
April 19th, 2008 at 8:47 pm
TBL, instead of throwing away your money betting I have one word for you.
Triangles
April 19th, 2008 at 8:48 pm
Tyson Chandler is an idiot. Acting by Dirk, but still, a dumb move by Chandler
April 19th, 2008 at 8:51 pm
Chris Paul is willing the Hornets, nice… the league is in great hands with this guy
April 19th, 2008 at 8:52 pm
CP3
April 19th, 2008 at 8:54 pm
If New Orleans ever gets CP3 a damn wingman … kid is nasssssty
(say David West and I’ll throw the remote at you)
April 19th, 2008 at 8:54 pm
this is my favorite match-up of the 1st round, love watching both teams play
April 19th, 2008 at 8:55 pm
who would be the best wingman within reason for CP3? Manu would be something, or Monta Ellis, orrrr???
April 19th, 2008 at 8:57 pm
the other good thing about Paul is that – so far – he’s not up in the clubs till 5 am, he’s not packing heat, he’s not getting DUIs …
I still remember his last college game. Great shit … unless you were like me, and you had Wake in the damn final four.
And Paul likes BOWLING! Me, CP3 and CRM in a bowl-off … now that’d be some shit
April 19th, 2008 at 9:00 pm
and Jerome Bettis.. did anyone know he’s from Detroit? that’s not well known at all
April 19th, 2008 at 9:01 pm
Jermaine O’Neal? CP3 doesn’t have a serious low-post scorer, and again, I’m not buying into David West just yet. Still see him as a complimentary player. I think the smart move is to sell West high right now.
April 19th, 2008 at 9:03 pm
I think West is better than O’Neal now, I think we’ve seen the best days of Jermaine
April 19th, 2008 at 9:05 pm
cool jordan commercial … hadn’t seen it
that’s the mentality i take to this blog! ha.
mother f’in CHRIS YOUNG! DAMN YOU!
/losery fantasy rant
April 19th, 2008 at 9:10 pm
Blogging is you god given gift, BUT you do work hard at it….
April 19th, 2008 at 9:11 pm
he’s so automatic in the lane!
his 2nd half has made this comment look good
7:39 pm edit

April 19th, 2008 at 9:22 pm
This Mavs 4th qtr meltdown must be karmic payback for the Suns 4th qtr choke-job at home vs. Dallas a couple weeks ago …
April 19th, 2008 at 9:23 pm
That game killed me as a Warrior fan
April 19th, 2008 at 9:36 pm
West has 23? THat’s a quiet 23.
I also wonder – can CP3 turn any PF into a 20-point a night guy? Obviously not anyone … but can he turn a mediocre talent into an All-Star?
April 19th, 2008 at 9:40 pm
Chris Paul could turn me into an 8-point a game scorer.
April 19th, 2008 at 9:41 pm
lol
Tyron Lue and Deaven George?
April 19th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
I can’t believe ESPN has Doris Burke doing the color on the Utah game. This is an embarassment.
April 19th, 2008 at 9:56 pm
@bigtuna:
Greg Anthony’s getting pushed out the door, and Doris Burke gets at least one more playoff game. At least she’s not paired up with Pam Ward.
April 19th, 2008 at 9:57 pm
David West
(ducks)
April 19th, 2008 at 10:02 pm
I was going to put money on Phoenix, Dallas and Washington today. Lesson learned: it pays to actually watch a couple regular season games.
April 19th, 2008 at 10:06 pm
LeBron played well no doubt, but the Wizards are going to win some games in this series. That got out free-throwed by 20 (granted, too many jumpers) and were on the road, while LeBron played well – Jamison played miserable offensively (10 of 24).. and they were with the Cavaliers every step of the way.
You guys were that impressed with the Cavs today that you now think they’re getting past the Celtics? Keep in mind, they were playing the Wizards.. Talk about an overreaction.
April 19th, 2008 at 10:07 pm
Is that who is calling the game? Wow. Volume is low. I thought I heard Dan Shulman doing the play-by-play … he’s very good. Does Doris Burke host Sportscenter?
April 19th, 2008 at 10:08 pm
I just said i’d LIKE to see LeBron in the finals again, but I’m quite the realist (i think) and i got the Celtics winning it all
April 19th, 2008 at 10:08 pm
Big Lead, David West has been a beat for the Hornets. He actually does a ton on his own, with a bunch of isolations 15 feet away in which he produces. Paul’s been Huge no doubt, but David West has not been getting his due. Like I’ve said before, I think he’s been more consistent than Tim Duncan this season.
April 19th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
I also thought the Cavaliers were way, way too emotional (but I think that’s a byproduct of having a 23-year-old leader. Every basket they scored they were gyrating and motioning to the crowd. LeBron acted like a big baby when Haywood was standing over him (Notice, Haywood did not even look at LeBron, yet James got up with his arm cocked.. yeah that’s not really smart..).
Someone needs to tell the Cavaliers that this was a 4-5 game between two irrelevant teams.
April 19th, 2008 at 10:25 pm
Way too emotional? Did you not hear all that trash talk that was going on? It was an emotional game because the teams hate each other and it was a very physical game.
I don’t know if I’d call a team with LeBron “irrelevant.”
April 19th, 2008 at 10:25 pm
Houston looks very unclutch early
April 19th, 2008 at 10:27 pm
/looks in 2008 dictionary for consistent, sees Duncan’s face, chalks it up to CC’s saturday night pre-gaming
April 19th, 2008 at 10:35 pm
Big Lead, you scoff, but check out April alone, Duncan shot a pedestrian 47% (he’s 7′ tall)… scored just under 18 a game.. 67% from the line. In March, he shot 46% and averaged 18.9. I hate when people use stats to tell the story, but I’m using them as a supplement here, to coincide with what I saw in the games!
April 19th, 2008 at 10:36 pm
Isn’t that what you call an Eastern Conference team that’s eliminated in the 2nd round of the playoffs? Because that’s exactly what’s happening.
April 19th, 2008 at 10:37 pm
And of course, if the Cavaliers beat Boston, I will of course be nowhere to be found. Because that’s what honorable people do – run away when confronted with terrible NBA picks.
April 19th, 2008 at 10:44 pm
You do realize that is cherrypicking in the worst way, right? I know you hate to use statistics, but when you do, let’s try to use them correctly.
For the full season, Duncan was a better shooter & scorer and a much, much better rebounder.
How that adds up to West being more consistent that Duncan, I don’t know…unless you mean consistently worse. Do you?
Duncan gets all his points/boards/blocks in 4 less minutes than D-West, too.
April 19th, 2008 at 10:47 pm
Okay Nick, I also added the month of March as well (that’s cherrypicking another month). In watching the games, I felt David West was a better overall performer. You may disagree, but West is a huge part of why the Hornets are the 2 seed in the Western Conference. I’m not saying Timmy’s not good, but come on now, Timmy didn’t exactly dazzle there when the Spurs needed him for homecourt advantage..
April 19th, 2008 at 10:52 pm
True, but he didn’t dazzle last year when they needed homecourt, and they still won the title. The Spurs are one team that doesn’t really care at all about securing home court advantage. They are perfectly happy to play Duncan 34 minutes per game, Ginobili/Parker under 30 minutes per game, and have everyone well-rested and ready to go in the playoffs (on the road if necessary).
Of course David West was a big part of the Hornets’ success, but that’s not what you asserted. You said he played better than Duncan.
April 19th, 2008 at 10:58 pm
I made multiple assertions! But you’re right about the past and Duncan and the regular season and the yearly malaise. But we have to admit one thing, there is going to be a year when the Spurs slow down. This year might just be the year (although I’m not sure the the Suns will get over what happened tonight…).
April 19th, 2008 at 11:03 pm
Did you put your picks on record, Cursed?
I got C’s over Jazz.
April 19th, 2008 at 11:12 pm
Only in the East, but in the West, I did pick the Spurs/Hornets/Lakers/Jazz with the Lakers facing the Spurs and the Spurs winning.
Spurs vs C’s. with the C’s winning.
April 19th, 2008 at 11:17 pm
I think the title of this post is awesome with a capital A. That is all.
April 19th, 2008 at 11:31 pm
You can take West, I’ll have TD.
Current foul situation: ROckets 21 FT attempts, Utah 5.
Now, i can’t wait for the Jazz to choke away an 8-point fourth quarter lead and blow my cover.
April 19th, 2008 at 11:56 pm
Come on Jazz, hold them off … this 15-point lead with 4:35 left seems very sketchy. THe way the Rockets can shoot 3s … the way the Jazz aren’t making all their FTs … home court factor ..
April 19th, 2008 at 11:57 pm
f’ing Battier is going nuts … luckily, Deron Williams just cleaved through the entire Rockets D for a sick layup
Dan Shulman loves him
