So…the Yankees versus the Redskins?
Ugh!

Great save on the first shot, better strike on the second
April 30th, 2008 at 5:23 pm
Those are the toughest saves to make, on the second shot. So much of playing keeper is positioning and after you make that first save with a dive you find yourself out of position and leave the near post exposed. Tough break.

The soccer post-game show is freakin’ me out. No bombastic screaming and oneupsmanship. No ridiculously loud suits. Where’s the smugness? The doled out sides to take in an argument? Espn2, what hell hath you brought upon us?

Well, let’s all pray for a meteor in Moscow now.

Wow. Banner year for the English Premier League in the Champions League. In the knockout stage, they’ve only lost to other English sides.

Dammit all! My reds went down. Fernando Torres still put one in though. Holler at my boy! He’s going to win player of the year next year, then become a whore mongering filth-bomb.

Fuck. I had this TiVo’ing so that I could watch it when I got home from work. Fuck.
April 30th, 2008 at 5:35 pm
Same as Jack, warn us when you are going to spoil things, damn.
April 30th, 2008 at 5:35 pm
riise – gone to newcastle
arbeloa – gone to wherethefuckever as long as hes gone
alonso – sorry bout it, youve sucked the vast majority of the season, enjoy barca
unbelievably stupid decision by riise on the third goal to stop marking anelka and call for offsides. absolutely has looked lost the last two seasons.
the fact that liverpool have made it this far the past three of four years in the competition when they have players like him, bellamy, zenden, biscan, gonzalez, traore, nunez, etc is fucking absurd
god willing al maktoum will get control of the club and spend like a mother fucker. chelsea and united have enough players to field two teams taht could beat most teams. liverpool dont have one
April 30th, 2008 at 5:37 pm
Drogba scored the game winner in extra time, since you’ve already spoiled it, you may want to get the story right TBL!@
April 30th, 2008 at 5:39 pm

if youre going to mail it in just ignore it

Ted & Jack: Ya’ll just got punk’d! This was all just an elaborate ruse on soccer fans who actually work in offices. Go home, open up a Ruddles, kick back, and enjoy a great game that has an unknown to you outcome.

interesting points… im a big liverpool fan as well and i totally agree that gonzalez, bellamy, riise, and xabi alonso are pretty much chumpchange at this point. not good enough for the EPL. on the other hand, torres was a great pickup, kuyt, gerrard, babel, there are some fantastic pieces to keep this thing rolling as is, i doubt they change all that much. crouch dissappeared this season

oh no im not saying those players arent great, im saying theyre a few pieces short of a genuine contender. they are razor thin at right and left back. finnan is over the hill sadly, and riise/arbeloa/aurellio offer little to nothing outside of one decent cross every third game.
left back might be okay for next year because by all accounts insua should be a regular in the starting XI. without a doubt he starts the next two games. he looked incredible the few times hes gotten a premier league game in him.
they have to buy a right back plain and simple.
they have no true wingers. pennant just isnt good enough, kuyt is good as an attacking midfielder but we didnt pay that much for him so he wouldnt be a striker. a player like mancini or maxi rodriguez would be much better suited on that side. gerrard and mascherano are in the midfield until gerrard retires and mascheranos agent murders him. on the left, babel isnt a creator, hes a scorer, put him up front. bring hammill back from on loan and let him at it.
the bright side of things is that our reserves are fucking LOADED in offense right now with nemeth, pachecho, bruna, etc
April 30th, 2008 at 5:48 pm
also paul anderson who has been on loan at swansea and had an amazing season. him and hammill should both be competing for wing spots next season if they arent loaned out again.
people knock rafa’s rotation, and sometimes rightfully so, but one thing he has done the past few seasons is brought in a ridiculous amount of youngsters that look incredibly promising

LACES OOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!
April 30th, 2008 at 5:49 pm
yes satan?
April 30th, 2008 at 5:53 pm
I agree, babel should be up front, i think him and torres would be a rediculous 1-2, plus he is sooo young. im also a huge maxi rodriguez fan. i think he would fit well on the team too, but with the ownership problems, thngs could get dicey. im still pretty positive about it all though, chelsea was fucking due… i dont feel all too bad. going to be a great final.
April 30th, 2008 at 5:57 pm
they should have a hot bit of money regardless of what happens ownershipwise but i see dubai being in charge one way or another
carson should still fetch around 8-10 million pounds for whoever ends up buying him
riise will go for 5-6
guthrie should cost bolton around 5ish im not sure, that will be interesting, i dont see him coming back though
at the minimum they should have 20 million pounds from selling off dead weight, regardless of whether crouch leaves
now if torres could work some magic and convince sergio ramos to hand in a transfer request we’d be set
April 30th, 2008 at 5:58 pm
@nomo – you forgot about Bruce Willis being dead

Huzzah for Chel-Ski.
Them winning means this Everton supporter doesn’t have to root for MANU in the final.
April 30th, 2008 at 7:06 pm
Nothing short of what Liverpool deserved after being gifted a spot in the Semifinals. I never thought I would root for Chelsea, but I think I hate United more than Liverpool so Chelski it is.

Ha, only getting to watch the replay on Classic. Babel dives again in the box only this time they dont get the tie winning penalty cause this ref isnt retarded.
TBL you have said you are a soccer fan, who’s you team?

April 30th, 2008 at 7:35 pm
Sadly I think United is going to win the final, and probably the Premiership as well.

Is anyone able to explain why Rafa withdrew Torres? Fine substitution to introduce Babel at that stage, but my goodness, to do so at the expense of Torres, when you have seen all season long just how special he is, and how he alone of the Liverpool players can make a goal out of absolutely nothing? Bizarre.
