John Bale Is Punchy
Baseball May 4th. 2008, 4:30pm
John Bale was an English churchman, historian and Bishop of Ossory. Wait…no. That’s not right. Damn Wikipedia.
John Bale is a left-handed pitcher for the Kansas City Royals. Recently you could find him on the DL with a “dead arm.” Bale was scheduled to start tossing batting practice this week, but he suffered a minor set-back.
Now he has a broken pitching hand and will miss even more time. Needless to say, Royal’s manager Trey Hillman isn’t too impressed:
“I’m not pleased,” Hillman said. “Players [have to] think before they do things. They’ve got to think about how it’s going to affect the rest of their team — how it’s going to affect their individual possibilities of being able to perform.”
This reminds me of the time my freshman year roommate punched a door and broke a bone in his hand. He was an art major which is kind of like pitching for the Royals.

Today being not really that interesting, I would have preferred a Christian Bale “Dark Knight” post or a Zumuya Guitar Hero injury story.

Bannister and Greinke are still better than Hughes and Kennedy. That being said I imagine the Yanks trade for one of the two and make the playoffs, while the Royals will most likely finish in dead last.

It’s better than having career threatening injuries due to “your arm being worn out by Dusty Baker”.

While I was on my knees, Connor Jackson was trying to turn a double play using the left fielder.

Check out the newest poster on the site, Gonz. The name is even more accurate now. No, it’s not irish.

I will reiterate what I said on your blog Hef: There is a 100% chance of Buzz Bissinger referencing that blog.

If I cared even a little bit about Hockey, I’d comment on your blog. Alas.
May 5th, 2008 at 12:22 am
lol. well like it says mine is all about college hockey, and since i started it when the season ended, i can’t really do anything until august. But if you wanna comment on something I write some stuff for complete sports (apparently people have heard of it–Deadspin has linked to it a couple times) but a buddy I go to school with writes it and he let’s me sully it up a bit.
May 5th, 2008 at 12:22 am
Oh and I’ll be stopping in frequently. Looks like it will be good.

Well it’s finals week for me so I have about 3943484 energy drinks in me so I’ll be up a lot.
May 5th, 2008 at 12:32 am
You mix some vodka with those energy drinks and you’ll really be ready for finals.
May 5th, 2008 at 12:58 am
by the way Hef, I want to take umbrage at your first post which says that the first place team in the AL central is out of it
May 5th, 2008 at 1:01 am
Who did I say was out of it that is in first place?
May 5th, 2008 at 1:04 am
The Twins.
May 5th, 2008 at 1:09 am
They were just an honorable mention. They didn’t make the cut. They’ll be in worse shape if Carlos Gomez can’t play more consistently. That son of a bitch only steals bases or hits the ball when I bench him. When I start him, he shits the bed worse than the PHX Suns. If he keeps this up, I might have to stab his ass. Metaphorically speaking.
May 5th, 2008 at 1:10 am
Well if he doesn’t get moved to the 9 hole or start getting on base more I might have to stab someone. No metaphor included.
