Los Angeles Lakers 109, Utah 98: For a fleeting moment in the fourth quarter, the Jazz had the defcit down to four or five, but Boozer had fouled out, and inexplicably, Utah had Kyle Korver curl off a screen and take a 14-footer jumper that clanged. Not sure about that call; we’d rather go down with Deron Williams (5-for-18) chucking than Korver. Kobe had 38. An eternal Jazz optimist might say: We dominated the glass (58-41), we won’t shoot 4-for-19 from three next time, and the Lakers won’t get 46 free throw attempts again. Think Utah will need to win game two to take the series, though; do you see the Lakers losing four of five? Us neither. Question: Why do we have to wait until Wednesday for game two?

Boston 99, Atlanta 65: Not sure why anyone got remotely worked up for this one – the Hawks were tremendous all series long at home, and dreadful on the road (lost by 23, 19, 25 and 34). This may have the most the most anticlimatic game seven in recent memory, and was never remotely close. No need to get worked up over the Marvin Williams foul – it was nasty, cheap, and we’re surprised no Boston knuckle-dragging fans didn’t hurl a beer at him on his way out – but for Hawks fans, here’s something to ponder: next season is Mike Bibby’s final year under contract ($15 million). What’s the move there? He shot better from the field earlier in his career, but has faded in the last two seasons (including 7-for-28 on the road in this series). Is Acie Law ready to make the leap?
