Is Braylon Edwards a First-Round Fantasy Pick?
Fantasy Sports, NFL May 8th. 2008, 5:15pm
Saw this yesterday, and felt compelled to comment: Braylon Edwards, last seen taking about blogs on HBO, is somehow being considered a first-round fantasy football draft pick. Drafts don’t happen until August, but the hardest of the hardcore are preparing now. We love the Browns, and Edwards is an emerging stud … but to take him ahead of Willis McGahee, Clinton Portis and Marshawn Lynch? Absurd.

Edwards is a third rounder. If he’s still available in the fourth round, it would be wise to pick him.

Anyone who does anything other than running back-running back in the first two rounds (except to take either Brady or Manning) is dumb.

Outside of Adrian Peterson and Tomlinson I don’t get the love for RB’s in the first round that I have seen so far.
Running backs were a huge disappointment point wise last year, it’s a passing league now.

as big of a mancrush as i have on braylonzo…COME ON.

Since the Browns are going to be 6-10 this year, I’d say that’s a bad 1st rounder.

Not even in a “keeper” league

No wide receiver is EVER a WR, IMO. They don’t give steady or prolific enough production to be the centerpiece of a good team.
Much like in real football, top-flight WRs are a little more of a luxury than a sound investment.

QUERY: Is Westbrook really a better pick over Manning and Brady?
May 8th, 2008 at 5:22 pm
@Cbh: for some reason I always think it says you give “LeBlumpkins to Lebron James”
@Romo: yes
May 8th, 2008 at 5:23 pm
I imagine Moss will be the only receiver picked in the first round. Beyond that, I can’t imagine why anyone would pick a wide receiver with any of their first three picks.

@Spencer
You love Edwards, a Wolverine?
Traitor.

feel free to go fist yourself…who wants 15 paragraphas about why the browns will win the AFC North?
May 8th, 2008 at 5:25 pm
I did forget Westbrook in my RB list.
Fetch, the French variety of blumpkins is much more disgusting.

SpartanFan…last time i checked, he wears an orange helmet, not a winged one, that’s all that matters to me.
believe me, i hated his fucking guts when he was at Michigan.

Spencer
See, I try to be like that, too-once a guy makes it to the pros, it should be a different story. Like Tom Brady-you have to give the guy props, but it’s a hard thing to do.

Is that because they don’t shower as often?
May 8th, 2008 at 5:31 pm
He’s a holdover on my team. Got him on the cheap.
May 8th, 2008 at 5:33 pm
no its because all the cheese and cigarettes makes for some exciting deucing
May 8th, 2008 at 5:34 pm
@mmonast. That just made me throw up a little bit.
May 8th, 2008 at 5:35 pm
you don’t have to give him anything, he already has it all. i hate him even more because he went to Michigan.
so join me in saying, “Tom Brady…kindly go fuck yourself. Oh, and stop headbutting your teammates, that’s extremely lame. And you look like a goat. A dumb goat. Lemme bang Gisele, kthxbai.”
May 8th, 2008 at 5:37 pm
with so many 2 RB offenses now, i wouldn’t rule out taking a #1 WR over a platoon RB.
May 8th, 2008 at 5:38 pm
ooo…hot stuff. excellent point.

Milk was a bad choice

It’s only May and already my FF team is already screwed.
May 8th, 2008 at 5:47 pm
Fantasy football makes me sleepy.
May 8th, 2008 at 5:50 pm
Fixed (by a Bears fan)
May 8th, 2008 at 5:52 pm
Of course you could make the arguement that the Bears have a #2 RB offense, not a 2 RB offense.
May 8th, 2008 at 5:58 pm
Nothing worse than having the 8th pick and settiling for McGahee or some guy you HOPE will get 1200 yards, even though you know he probably won’t
May 8th, 2008 at 6:01 pm
Stay away from WR’s in the first round save for a couple. Moss is the only one I could justify in the first round…
Wait why are we talking about this.. It’s May. The season doesn’t start for 4-5 months
May 8th, 2008 at 6:32 pm
The few times I have taken a WR in the 1st round… it has always turned out to be a bad decision. I’ll stick to my RB/RB theory.
of course, it ALL depends on whether your scoring system awards one point per reception or not.
May 8th, 2008 at 6:44 pm
Grungedave has it right, 1 point per catch changes the equation, you might go RB but in that scoring Westbrook is an MVP and Moss and Owens become huge threats and first rd picks
May 8th, 2008 at 7:07 pm
@spenc I think Cleveland can be a Real threat but I’m not going to say Division champs just yet… this draft got Pittsburgh looking Awesome on offense along w/ the 108-million-dolar-man pulling the trigger
So a WR with 20 touchdown potential isn’t worth the 1st round and I already know about the rules of drafting RB’s and stud QB’s
May 9th, 2008 at 1:00 am
16 TD’s are insane, but WR’s can always be found in rounds two or three. Especially if he’s going to be ranked behind Moss and maybe T.O.
I’d give him a mid-2nd grade.
May 9th, 2008 at 7:37 am
As long as Brady is throwing to him, Moss is a bottom of the 1st round selection in some of the bigger leagues. Otherwise, you don’t want to ever take a WR that early. That being said, Braylon Edwards is very likely a top 3 WR this year and should go no later than round 3.
Damn, I feel like TMR…
May 9th, 2008 at 8:13 am
To the idiots that will take Brady and Manning in the first, thanks.
May 9th, 2008 at 8:14 am
To the idiot who refers to everyone else as idiots, thanks.
