Detroit 2, Dallas 1:
Good for the Wings: They only need two wins in the next five games (if necessary) to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. Bad news for the Wings: The second leading scorer in the playoffs this year, Johan Franzen, was scratched and will miss Game 3 in Dallas with what the team says are “concussion-like symptoms.” But if the Stars continue to be careless with the puck it may not matter. A turnover just inside the center line by the Stars in the first period directly led to Darren Helm’s first playoff goal this spring. Henrik Zetterberg’s power play goal late in the first put the Wings over the top. Did Chris Osgood have a cheap shot that provoked Mike Ribeiro’s slash near the end of the game or was it an accident? Detroit leads the series 2-0.
