Maybe it’s just us, but we long ago lost interest in the whole Spygate saga. You either think the Patriots cheated or they didn’t, regardless of what “evidence” turned up in Goodell’s office. So why are we, in the offseason, getting this storyline shoved down our throats? We had Mike & Mike on mute all morning, but we can see their topic for discussion at the bottom of the screen. For a solid two hours – maybe more – the only thing they talked about was this ridiculously overblown story. Guess who else is tired of ESPN’s incessant coverage? Tom Brady. That’s what he told a Boston radio station Tuesday. Small White Ball sent us the audio, and it comes about 30 seconds in (after he takes a swipe at the Jets):

That’s the environment right now … I think that’s the way guys make it, they just say the craziest things. That’s what ESPN has become. ESPN is like MTV, except without the highlights.

Interesting assessment, but it’s odd that Brady is only now noticing this trend. It’s been happening since we started this blog in February of 2006. In case you’re curious, the “former players” at ESPN are not mentioned in the interview. But a few of them at the WWL who Brady may have been referring to include: Bob Mike Golic, Emmitt Smith, Mark Schlereth, Ron Jaworski, Cris Carter, Keyshawn Johnson … who are we missing?
