OJ Mayo Speaks, But is There More to the Story?
College Basketball, ESPN, Shady McShady May 15th. 2008, 12:59pm
After ostensibly huddling with his cadre of handlers, OJ Mayo has spoken: He took nothing, he paid for nothing, and Louis Johnson, the man who spilled the entire story to ESPN, is motivated by revenge because … wait for it … they had to sever ties because having someone in your crew with a cocaine arrest under their belt might not look savory to the NBA. Now that you’ve finished laughing, here’s something anyone covering this story may want to take a peek at: Random, unsubstantiated, potentially-libelous tales of drama and intrigue in the ESPN comments section! (Courteous of a brilliant tipster.) Just in case the comments have been deleted, we took a screen grab of them last night, and that’s after the jump. Allegations of Mayo’s ties to drug dealers, a sordid story about Mayo’s dad … if there’s a kernel of truth in here, there’s quite a story to be told. Or, one of Mayo’s former classmates has an active imagination.

Wow, they’re a shifty bunch in West Virginia.

Oh wow, I’m only a month older than OJ Mayo

If any of that is true, you can understand why he wanted to go play for the farthest away, big-time program he could find.

I doubt that anyone who was “basically” one of his teammates could write this well. Something seems fishy here.

USC is ruining all the fun for the PAC 10.

TBL you were a little short to the right on the screen grab, but you’re learning, I’m proud of you.

Anybody named Ty Manor on Huntington’s roster when OJ played?

cbh, you gotta look at the whole picture. I heard that it was a problem here.
May 15th, 2008 at 1:24 pm
If you view the actual image, the whole screen grab shows up. It just doesn’t fit on the page.

This is just more proof that Marijuana should be legalized, alcohol and cigarettes banned. Well, maybe not alcohol.

O.J. is walking the path of Darius Miles…have fun doing the next Van Wilder series, O.J…it’s all downhill after that

wow crack marijuana…sounds awesome

Even if you can see the whole image, it still doesn’t make any sense because this person clearly has no concept of grammar or spelling.

@sportsgal- cmon now. Who cares about that. Its comments on a website. Not a graded paper.
May 15th, 2008 at 1:55 pm
I was reading all these comments because I just finished reading this.

@PKI
I think you just disrupted the Matrix.
It is click link, type, clink link again. come on!

This is the kind of thing that MSM’ers might call irresponsible. Lending any credence to a random commenter on the biggest sports site in the world? C’mon TBL, you’re better than that. I could go on there and say he rapes babies and is responsible for the Holocaust…it doesn’t make it true.

Crack + Marijuana= Creed….no wonder Scott Stapp was so AWESOME! WWSD?
I have no qualms with OJ playing while high….I thought they all did.
