Tom Brady’s Life: Still Better Than Yours
Athletes and Celebrities, Movies, NFL May 19th. 2008, 3:27pm
How can a guy possibly care about Spygrate when he’s loitering backstage with young, talented, females like this?
Two absolutely unrelated items: Which looks scarier, the Happening, or the Strangers?
Iron Man, for the 7th time, is awesome. We’ll be talking about it soon; perhaps tomorrow.

I’m seeing strangers ASAP. That movie looks bomb. Oh and while we’re at it:
Miss Teen USA > Miss USA
May 19th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
Marky Mark has came a long way from the funky bunch. I really think he is a great actor and i like any movie by M Night whatever
May 19th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
Yes, yes, die
May 19th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
Strangers does look really good, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it really sucks.
M Night Shamalamadingdongs last like 4 movies have sucked but might be willing to give this one a chance.
May 19th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
Yes, Yes, and do you have to rub it in our face all the time? We know we suck
May 19th, 2008 at 3:34 pm
Tom’s hair doesn’t look dpuchey, it looks nerdy, what gives?
May 19th, 2008 at 3:34 pm
why is he wearing a dong brooch?
May 19th, 2008 at 3:34 pm
Chris Hansen would like to have a word, Tom. cant you see it’s Miss TEEN USA? and now she’s pregnant…way to go.
May 19th, 2008 at 3:36 pm
I just found out the M. Night Shamalamadingdong directed the Happening so now I have to pass. That guy’s more self-absorbed than I am.
May 19th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
Totally agree. Right now, the battle for best action movie actor in his 30s might be between Matt Damon and Marky Mark. You want a dude with big arms – was at a roundtable interview for one of Marky Mark’s movies and i think he was filming incredible at the time. dude was ripped. he’s tiny as hell, but he was built like a tank.
May 19th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
really guys? i thought Signs, Sixth Sense and Unbreakable were great movies
Marky Mark best movie has to be Boogie Nights
May 19th, 2008 at 3:39 pm
There needs to be a “Clown” phone, similar to the “Batphone” that we can use in situations like this. Please make a “guns” joke asap.
Thank you.

Ed Hochuli?

Paging Clown to the Tom Brady Thread. John Clown to the Tom Brady thread.
May 19th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
Strangers looks “scarier”, but The Happening looks better. Strangers looks like just another “we are weird murderous crazy people who will attack normal people” movie. If you want to see the absolute most gory movie of this ilk…rent The Devils Rejects. Crazy, stupid, gory movie by Rob Zombie.
May 19th, 2008 at 3:41 pm
I respectfully disagree.
Sincerely,
The Rock
May 19th, 2008 at 3:41 pm
TBL do you mean Invincible when he was playing that Eagles guy?
May 19th, 2008 at 3:41 pm
The Strangers looks like a bomb. It’s round-the-clock ads make for great running jokes.
May 19th, 2008 at 3:42 pm
TBL is goading me. no can do.
May 19th, 2008 at 3:44 pm
What the hell is happening in The Happening?
May 19th, 2008 at 3:46 pm
irish – good call on Unbreakable. I thought that movie was fantastic
May 19th, 2008 at 3:47 pm
miss teen usa looks like one of the kardashian sisters.
May 19th, 2008 at 3:50 pm
harold & kumar>> iron man
by far
May 19th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
Irish, those were all good, but Lady in the Water was awful as was the Village.
May 19th, 2008 at 3:54 pm
Miss Teen USA’s real name is Hilary Cruz. She is smoking hot!
May 19th, 2008 at 3:54 pm
Marky Mark just does not make bad movies.
And Signs was an unwatchable piece of garbage (sorry this is my least favorite movie of all time and will argue that it’s stupid to my death.)
May 19th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
But Irish is right about 6th sense and Unbreakable. Excellent stuff. If he started making stuff like that again i’d start watching his movies again.
May 19th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
liked em both…cant complain.
May 19th, 2008 at 3:56 pm
Agreed, can’t go wrong either way with those movies.
May 19th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
Sly Stallone and his 800 year old permanently curled lip don’t approve of not being included in the best action actors discussion.
May 19th, 2008 at 3:58 pm
Bridget Moynahan is an underrated actress. Her greatest role so far was making believe that Tom Brady was not gay.
May 19th, 2008 at 3:59 pm
Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman? You’re kidding me. I think it’d be a horror film just having to watch them on screen, no matter what was going on.
May 19th, 2008 at 3:59 pm
I thought Signs was pretty good. I love the part where their eating and he makes the kid cry. Fucking hilarious just for the fact it kinda reminds of Will Ferrell as the division manager asserting himself over the table.
Secondly, I thought the Village looked stupid, and the night one of my friends went I saw I said, I’m willing to bet that all the shit that happens in the Village is made up to keep them from venturing outside of it.

@ Dr. C:
SIGNS SPOILER ALERT
May 19th, 2008 at 4:01 pm
Scott Stapp was great in Underworld.
May 19th, 2008 at 4:05 pm
Damn double post…
@ Dr. C
SIGNS SPOLER ALERT (just inc ase you haven’t seen it in the 8 years since it’s been released)
Any movie that has aliens, aliens who no doubt are smart because they can travel great distances, that decide to attack a planet where 75% of it is a lethal poison, a poison that falls from the sky for god’s sake, and don’t bother to plan for that minor detail just can’t be taken seriously. Who the hell thought that up.
May 19th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
Even more creepy trailer for The Happening.
May 19th, 2008 at 4:25 pm
@ jibble
That’s always the problem the aliens run into. They get too cocky because they’re way smarter then us and figure we won’t know what to do. So they come, fuck our shit up until someone like Randy Quaid crashes his plane and screams up yours. Once again, totally belieavble.
May 19th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
The best part about the aliens in Signs was the fact that a washed up fuck with a baseball bat hitting one of them is the highlight of the movie. “Swing away”. Stupid Mel Gibson.
May 19th, 2008 at 4:34 pm
Brady straying away from the “it-took-$45-product-for-it-to-look-intentionally-messy” look?
May 19th, 2008 at 4:41 pm
I really enjoyed signs. It was on this weekend, and i caught some of it (for like the 15th time). In the last 10 years, i think that one moment in signs – the Alien walking across the screen in Mexico – was probably one of the scariest i’ve seen in a theater.
I probably haven’t seen many scary movies in the theater, though. BUT Blair Witch totally stands out.
May 19th, 2008 at 5:07 pm
i saw Blair Witch at the Michigan Theater in downtown Ann Arbor – this is an old style, single screen theater with a huge pipe organ that plays before the evening shows. awesome place to go.
it was a cool flick and pretty creepy.
i still think that Hostel is the most distirbuing/scary/creepy movie i have ever seen. i have yet to rent Hostel 2, but will do it at some point when i have a free weekend.
May 19th, 2008 at 5:18 pm
Blair Witch scared the bejeezus out of me. So did the Ring. That being said, those are about the only two scary movies I have seen in the past decade, because I’m a huge sissy when it comes to them.
May 19th, 2008 at 5:19 pm
@Dr C and TBL: Yeah but i can at least believe Aliens have a weak point. I mean they still make mistakes, so having their biggest weapon become their biggest weakness has some sort of plausible reason to it.
But an IR camera would have told them that Earth was 75% water, and they didn’t even make any plans for it. They just missed the detail that one of the most common chemical compounds in the universe, which happens to be completely toxic, happens to be the most prevalent compound on the planet they are traveling light years to take over, and they make no effort to combat this minor inconvenience?
You’re asking the audience to believe that aliens aren’t incompetent but completely braindead.
May 19th, 2008 at 5:21 pm
Sean – rent Hostel sometime and report back. The Ring was awesome. Ring 2, not so much.
May 19th, 2008 at 5:34 pm
@ jibble
I suppose you’re right, but I prefer not to overthink things such as that analysis when I’m watching movies. I just let the movie go where it may, and take it from there. And yes, TBL, I would definitely have to agree on the Fox News scene in Mexico. I was high as balls watching the movie at that part and went on a good 20 minute tangent thinking what if I turned off the movie and that was the report going on. What would I do I thought? Then I got hungry and killed some Honey Nut Cheerios, and life was better again.
May 19th, 2008 at 5:53 pm
Totally agree. I jumped – high – when that happend. The music hits just at the right time and you DO NOT EXPECT that green mofo to slither out from behind that bush. Nearly gives me goosebumps thinking about it.
May 19th, 2008 at 6:00 pm
P.S. For you TBL,

@Dr. C
See i usually am that way and don’t let stuff like that bother me. For example Transformers breaks all sorts of physics laws, and I can let it go. But I hate signs because it had potential to be a good movie and then he screws it up with Water? seriously? Oh it’s just an unbelievably stupid error.
