Paul Pierce scored in traffic with like 2:30 left, trimming the Pistons lead to five. Detroit had kept a manageable 5-10 point working margin for most of the game, but Boston’s Big Three were terrible (11-for-38), yet the Celtics remained within striking distance. Only they really didn’t, because it was a close game, and for various reasons, we like to think of Detroit as much more of a clutch team than Boston. Billups and Rip hit a couple clutch shots and the Pistons knotted the series at two. Antonio McDyess played like he did 15 years ago at Alabama (21 points, 16 boards) and Jason Maxiell didn’t miss a shot (6-for-6). What’s with James Posey hitting a three and turning to talk some junk to the Pistons bench? Boston trailed the entire game. Punk.
