Missed over the weekend by 99.9 percent of sports fans, for no reason other than “any startling performance brings immediate suspicion” that someone has cheated: Sprinter Usain Bolt setting a world record in the 100 meter race. It’s like the next slugger to jack 60 homers. Won’t everyone will assume he’s cheating, like Mark McGwire et al?Be that as it may: Jamaica’s Bolt is 21, stands at 6-foot-5, and obliterated the record with a time of 9.72. This makes him the fastest human being on the planet. He recently ran a 9.76 and people chalked that up as bunk. We’re hoping he’s not doping. Hey, that rhymes.

Sadly, nothing rhymes with Yuriorkis Gamboa, a boxer we learned about this weekend thanks to one of our commenters. He’s only 5-foot-5, 128-pounds, but once you watch that video, it’s clear he’s a young athlete worth keeping an eye on.
