A reader noted that Towles, a 2nd year catcher with the Astros, is hitting a meager .145 in 117 at-bats, yet amazingly is in fourth place in NL All-Star voting for catchers. Our mission: Try and get Towles to become the starter. It is about three stages beyond Mission Impossible, but how sweet would it be for someone to be hitting under the Mendoza line to get voted to the All-Star game?

Overtaking the Molina brother on the Cardinals should be no problem; B McCann in 2nd could be a challenge. (We have him in Fantasy and he’s carrying out struggling offense.) Right now, Towles is 600,000 votes behind that Soto kid in Chicago, who seems to be a mortal lock. Spread the word. When Towles falls to eighth because this works in reverse, All-Star game purists can thank us later. (We have no clue who this female is with Towles, but it’s humorous that he’s wearing a baseball t-shirt at the beach, as if to say, ‘ladies, I’m a ballplayer!’)
