Don Imus is Still a Douche, Still Hates Black People

Forgive us for not getting too worked up about that insufferable racist Don Imus. Even though he magically crawled out of his grave after calling the Rutgers women’s basketball team “Nappy headed hos,” it seems as if his latest transgression, another racist dig at an African-American athlete, will bury his fledging radio career 6-feet deep, hopefully, forever:
Wolf: “He’s also been arrested six times since being drafted by Tennessee in 2005.€
Imus: “What color is he?â€
Wolf: “He’s African-American.€
Imus: “Well, there you go. Now we know.€
This morning, Imus was grasping at anything to salvage his career, saying he was being sarcastic: “What people should be outraged about is that they arrest blacks for no reason. I mean, there’s no reason to arrest this kid six times. Maybe he did something once, but everyone does something once.” Fail.
Not quite as sad, but rather depressing: Warner Wolf. What a fall from grace. He’s the “Let’s go to the videotape” guy, and now he’s slumming with Imus? When asked, ‘what color is he,’ Wolf could have easily shot back, ‘what does that matter?’ This morning, Wolf tried to bail out Imus, comparing the media outcry to Joe McCarthy communist witch hunt in 1950’s. Distance yourself, dude. Quick.
The only good news to emerge from this? Sympathy for Pacman Jones. You know it’s coming.

Why is sympathy for Pacman Jones a good thing? The dude is a douchebag.
When reading what he said it is damning, when listening to it you can see how it can be interpreted by people in different ways.
However, he is an idiot for even mentioning race.

Just because Imus is an outdated hack still stuck in Jim Crow era thinking, it doesn’t make Pacman ’sympathetic’ or a ‘victim’, IMO.
Then again, that’s probably just because he’s such a miserable human being by any standard… if Imus had said it about OJ would anyone feel bad for OJ?

That was a comment about an individual. I think i said last season that Derek Anderson of the Cavs reminds me of the cat i used to bump into working the tiles department at Hechinger.

This comment was way worse than the other one IMO.
It reminds me of when you’re with a group of people who you kind of know. Then one guy makes that awkward comment of joke about blacks and everyone kinds gives a nervous, uneasy chuckle. “Should I laugh about his stereotype of young, black males being arrested? I mean there’s some truth to it, especially in the south but why even go there with that joke? Eh, I’ll give him a half-assed smile and ‘ha.’”

Compared to, “Oh, Imus, he’s stereotyping black people as always in trouble with the law.”

August…in his difference, they did have a discussion on the show earlier about black people using racism as a shield (started by one of the black co-hosts) and racial profiling. They had also have had extensive discussions in the past few months…unfortunately Imus has the inability to express himself in more than sarcastic tones and this looks bad…in the context of the show this is not what is being portrayed. Unfortunately Politico’s existence is spent monitoring talk shows and playing tattle tale…this looks worse than it sounds and then the context actually portrays
