Forrest Griffin Was Always A Little Off…
High School Sports, UFC, Video July 12th. 2008, 12:00pmIf I had to pick a favorite fighter in the UFC, I would have to go with Forrest Griffin. He has all the qualities of the San Antonio Spurs. He works hard, doesn’t do anything flashy, and more often than not, come out with the victory. Basically, he’s so fun to watch for all the same reasons that people hate the Spurs.
A few days ago, as I was trolling Forrest’s MySpace page, I noticed this video of him playing high school football. Forrest was a defensive end and the quarterback rolls right into him. The sack isn’t that impressive so I don’t know why he posted the… oh. Yup. That’s definitely him.
He ran off the field like he had just made Shogun Rua tap, did a little hop-skip over the chains and ran directly to the bench like a good boy. Of course he was too excited and ended up head-butting a teammate or two. I think the play-by-play guys were a little worried about him.

I think its cool he hasn’t changed, even in his “stardom.”
I love Forrest, I think he’s great and really marketable for MMA. I loved the way he reacted to beating Rua. I love the fight where he was slapping himself in the face between rounds. Now, for the life of me, I can’t find footage of it.
By the way, did you see Yahoo paying respects to your greatness CRM (sort of)? I was pretty stoked for you.

first Jerry O’Connell, then Yahoo. Congrats CRM.
forrest griffin goes on Lebetard’s radio show every once in a while and he seems like a super chill guy. he seems really down to earth and grounded. Lebby asked if he likes pain, and he responded “No, I like Ice Cream.” Funny answer.
