Brewers Acquire Ray Durham; Rickie Weeks Feeling Unwanted
Baseball July 20th. 2008, 4:10pm
If people weren’t convinced of the Brewers’ “win now” mantra after the Sabathia acquisition, they’re probably believers now. The Brewers sent a couple of prospects to Frisco for a soon-to-be 37 year old switch hitter.
1:33PM Keith Law says the Giants got prospects Darren Ford and Steve Hammond in exchange for two months of Durham. Buster Olney’s reporting the Brewers have acquired Ray Durham. It’s not yet known what they received in return, although according to the Milwaukee Sentinel, OF prospect Darren Ford was removed from his class-A Brevard County starting lineup yesterday “with indications he is being traded.” MLBTR covered movement on this yesterday.
The number two pick of the 2003 draft, Rickie Weeks, might find playing time hard to come by. Coming into today, he’s hitting .218/8/27 with a balmy 72 strike outs and a bleak .322 OBP. Kudos to me for my excellent use of adjectives.

damn corey hart just homered for my opponent in fantasy and the score went from 4-4 to 8-2. im losing. we were knotted in runs, HR and TB.
at just about this time, Jake peavy was battered by the cards. edwin jackson and nate robertson didn’t get the job done, either.

Who needs Ray Durham when you have Aaron “Mini Me” Miles?
To quote the late, great Jack Buck, “I don’t believe what I just saw. I don’t believe what I just saw.”
