Nice Catch
Baseball, Video, Youth Sports July 26th. 2008, 4:44pmThis unbelievable little league catch happened in my backyard – literally.
Seriously, I live in the town of Colonie. (Their water service is spectacular.) Easily the coolest thing about the catch is that it ended up on ESPN – which to a young child who hasn’t been jaded by the 4-Letter yet, really is a dream. Jordan Johnson made that catch:
“It’s been exciting, you know. I never knew I was going to be on ESPN. That was the coolest thing. That was my dream to do. I made that catch and I didn’t know it was going to be that big.”
Good for you, kid. The video shows Johnson being congratulated by Mike Graves – the kid Johnson robbed – when he gets to the infield. You know, this is the kind of thing that makes me love sports again…

Actually, I was glad to see CRM acknowledge that he did not actually have a baseball field in his back yard.
Pretty sweet catch, reminded me of my playing days.

I love how you can hear Tim Kurkjian saying, “Are you kidding me?” in the background at the very end. Glad he was on hand.
