Phillies 8, Nationals 5: Shane Victorino had a homer and three RBI and Chase Utley had a two-run bomb to give Philly their second straight win over George W. Bush’s wiffle ball team. With the Marlins win over the Mets, the Phils regain first place by half a game.

Cardinals 7, Braves 2: Chris Carpenter made his first start in over 450 days (Opening Day 2007) and gave up one run in four innings. As a Cards fan, I wanted Carpenter to get one or two more starts in the minors, but this outing against the Braves was similar to a AAA game. Bad times for Braves fans right now. The Cards have the second best road record in all of baseball behind Anaheim.

Yankees 13, Orioles 3: The day the Yanks acquired Pudge Rodriguez, they flattened Baltimore as payback for Monday’s 13-4 loss. Bobby Abreu had two homers and three RBI and A-Rod had a solo homer because he sucks when runners are on base, largely attributed to the fact that he’s not a true you-know-what.

Rockies 7, Pirates 4: Aaron Cook is now 14-6 and Brian Fuentes got his 18th save on what could have been his last outing as a Rockies representative. Colorado got two hits apiece from Tavares, Holliday and Atkins along with a three spot from T. Tulowitzki.

White Sox 8, Twins 3: Carlos Quentin continues to continue, this time with a homer and four RBI. Alexi Ramirez added a three-run shot and Gavin Floyd earned his 11th win of the season. The White Sox lead the Twins by 1.5 games, followed by Detroit, Kansas City, Mayim Bialik, Cesar Geronimo, Odysseus, Terrence Newman, Paul Hackett, Bimbo Coles, Richard Karn and the Indians.

Other stuff: Marlins over Mets, Cubs over Brewers again and the Angels swept the Red Sox.
