It’s On … the 2008 NFL Hall of Fame
ESPN, NFL August 2nd. 2008, 5:00pm
It’s hazy, hot and ungodly humid here in the midwest. In other words, it’s football Hall of Fame weather. Tonight the Bert Blyleven of the NFL, Art Monk (before he actually got in that is), will take his rightful place at the NFL shrine along with former teammate Darrell Green. In addition to the two Skins, Fred Dean (Chargers), Emmitt Thomas (Chiefs), Andre Tippet (Patriots) and Gary Zimmerman (Broncos) will have the ultimate football honor.
ESPN has issued an outline for what to look for, along with quotes from Tom Jackson describing each of the soon-to-be-inducted Hall of Famers. It’s worth a read. The only person Jackson failed to comment on was Manny Ramirez, but I’m sure Boomer will atone for it with an extra snazzy mention during the telecast.
On the media side, Dan Dierdorf and Len Pasquarelli will receive honor for their work in television and print, respectively. Their bronze plaques will be in the shape of glazed doughnuts with white icing and multi-colored sprinkles.
Over on NFL Network, Rich Eisen will be joined by Michael Irvin. Something tells me the ladies of Canton are in for a crazy, wild ride if those two head out together. I’ll bring the Coke – Diet, that is. I’m not a fan of all that sugar in regular – rots out your teeth.

I want to flip off Zimmerman for going in as a Bronco.

I also want to flip off the voters for putting that piece of shit Michael Irvin in ahead of the superior player and human being in Art Monk.

The question is, how many Favre mentions did Berman make?

Andre Tippet, really? No Rickey Jackson, but Andre Tippet? That’s just stupid.
