Dwyane Wade is a Real American
NBA, Olympics August 2nd. 2008, 2:00pmD. Wade has been tearing up the rim in Olympics tune-up action. Here’s the video proof against Linas Kleiza’s team if you don’t believe me.
Wade led all scorers in the hatchet job of Lithuania, and media throughout the world proved why Planet Earth hates America with headlines such as “Americans hand Lithuania a hammering”, “Team USA Batters old Rival” and “USA hammer Olympic warning against Lithuania.”ÂÂ
Oh well.

Every article about this game paints it as a blowout, but the US only led by 9 in the 3rd quarter. They stretched it to 16 before Lithuania essentially pulled their starters — that’s how the US opened up the final margin.
The surprising thing to me was the American’s continuing inability to handle the zone. Lithuania will probably make the second round of the olympics because their draw is weak, but if the US doesn’t start showing more discipline against the 2-3, I wouldn’t be surprised if they dropped a game in Beijing. Spain and Greece are both good teams, and the US will probably play one of them twice.

The Olympics are the only time I will ever root for Dwyane Wade.
