ESPN Welcomes Manny Ramirez to Los Angeles … at Laundromats Everywhere
Baseball, ESPN August 5th. 2008, 10:30am
Ad Freak with a tremendous find – the day after Manny Ramirez was dealt from the Red Sox to the Dodgers, ESPN agency Ground Zero dispatched its minions all over Los Angeles county to distribute these little gimmicky ads to laundromats everywhere.
Did they select laundromats because of the “sock” angle, or is there another idea behind this campaign?
As for Manny: 8-for-13 with five RBI in three games over the weekend. We wouldn’t be surprised if the Dodgers reach the World Series and the Red Sox don’t. Yup, we feel confident in that opinion less than five days after the trade.
Manny: machine wash cold, tumble dry low (Ad Freak)

That has as much to do with the weak NL as the Red Sox sucking down the stretch.

Dodgers should concentrate on winning a playoff series, something they haven’t done in 20 years I believe.

Why is ESPN welcoming Manny? I thought they just reported sports news. Silly me.

We wouldn’t be surprised if the Dodgers reach the World Series and the Red Sox don’t.
The Dodgers traded away their third basemen for the next ten years (Andy LaRoche) for two months of Manny. They better make the World Series, or this move was a colossal mistake.

do you think ESPN passed eye-patches around in Boston for the arrival of Jason Bay?
August 5th, 2008 at 10:46 am
I’m on the Dodgers wagon with this trade. Or at least think they’ll make a strong push.
August 5th, 2008 at 10:52 am
Not the way they had been treating him so far.

This just doesn’t sit right with me. A media outlet should not be doing this. This would be like CNN sending out fliers welcoming Obama to Atlanta or something.

Where is the Brett Farve cheese giveaway in Green Bay?

maybe they’re trying to bring back the asian audience they lost when nomo left?

Nothing would please me more than to see this trade f up the Red Sox season. Well, except maybe a night in the locker room with EA.

I can’t believe TBL hasn’t commented about this. Didn’t we have a run of Hathaway Roundup pics and isn’t he slightly obsessed with her?

In the end the Bo Sox got the best of this trade, they are now a contender with no distractions.Bay fits in perfectly and hes better than Hermedia(who they would have recived from Florida). Manny is going Nuts in LA right now but I doubt those guys make the playoffs because of their pitching woes.

@ill-none of that celebrity gossip talk in here!

@ill, the Royals are working towards ruining the Red Sox season as we speak. With Papi out too? This could get bad for them quick. If they lose this series, then they head to Chicago, then at home to the Rangers who could hit them out of the park.

That was fun. Let’s misrepresent someone else’s opinion.

ESPN is just mad at Boston because Tom Brady compared them to MTV.
“Lose a sock, Boston?” They are getting way too much enjoyment out of this, just doesn’t seem professional.

TBL, your random pics always seem to come at the right time.

just another example of ESPN forcing their East Coast bias down everyone’s throats for 25 years… nothing like being an impartial news organization.
