PM Roundup: #@#&*** Wagner
Baseball, Bird droppings, ESPN, NBA, Numbers, Olympics, Peter King, TV August 6th. 2008, 3:30pm
Let’s hear it again for our old friend Dan LeBatard. I’d like to apologize on behalf of TBL for the same post being at the top of the page for more than (GASP!) an hour! I know! My head is still reeling!
I’d also like to apologize to everyone who was here for the live-chat with Stugotz which was canceled due to inclement weather. I know it would have been a nice respite from LeBetard, who was keeping us from another Brett Favre post.
Anyone else going to see Pineapple Express tonight? Amber Heard might be there... Oh, and rumor has it, Leo and Bar have split….
6 hot chicks you didn’t realize were on Saved By The Bell. (Uncoached)
LeBron would be less important in America if he played in Europe. You heard it here first. (Waiting For Next Year)
Though $50 Million would be hard to pass up. (Deadspin)
More reactions to the Penn State OTL story. (Black Shoe Diaries)
Have an opinion? Good luck getting into China. (ABC News)
One spot in California is over 800 degrees. Seriously. (FOXNews)
Look! It’s Barry Bonds! (TMZ)
Fantasy Football advice for women. (The Hazean)
The Marlins-Phillies game last night should have been a shutout. (The Sporting Blog)
Sports video games that never made it to testing. (The On Deck Circle)

Dibs on Bar!
/called it.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:33 pm
No dibs here, I got next.
And I was fully aware of every hot chick on SBTB.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:34 pm
Seeing Pineapple Express Sunday in the right frame of mind to see it, should be tremendous.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:35 pm
Man that video game post was hilarious. And topical.
/sincere
/really
/I laughed
August 6th, 2008 at 3:36 pm
No dibs here, I got next.
Coop is content with sloppy seconds? Gross.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:36 pm
@Hef: Me too. The Oliver Miller joke was great.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:36 pm
Bar is ridiculously hot. Giselle is nowhere near her league.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:38 pm
I miss all the fun stuff.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:38 pm
Pineapple Express was fantastic
and Saved by the Bell had some good ‘talent’ on the show
August 6th, 2008 at 3:39 pm
Man that video game post was hilarious. And topical.
It could have really have used a Yar’s Revenge reference. Which leads me to this: Who the fuck was Yar in that game? Was I Yar? What was I revenging? Or maybe Yar was revenging against me? Atari games were complex.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
It’s not enough that the Global Icon is ready to leave Cleveland for another NBA city. He’s willing to leave the country. Cleveland rocks!
August 6th, 2008 at 3:41 pm
Just say that SBTB with Denise Richards a week or two ago, had no clue it was her.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:42 pm
I’ve seen all but one of those SBTB episodes recently. classic
August 6th, 2008 at 3:42 pm
SBTB is only on at like 7 AM on TBS right? I’m never up to see it. Did they ever release it on DVD?
August 6th, 2008 at 3:43 pm
at least Barry likes biscuits with his juice
August 6th, 2008 at 3:44 pm
Well played irish
August 6th, 2008 at 3:45 pm
ha ha, irish. that took me probably a second longer to get than it should have.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:48 pm
CRM continues to bat well over .700 with his choice in women/photos.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
I only knew about Mrs. Sampras on SBTB. The others were new to me (and make me want to watch again… especially Carla Gugino…)
The video game post was solid, although I think more could have been done to make it better. Like:
Post Game Interview featuring Chad Johnson, Terrell Owens, and Jim Mora.
The College Version of Post Game Interview featuring Mike Gundy , Bobby Knight and Beetlejuice.
On the Recruiting Trail featuring John Calipari, Jim Calhoun and in the old school version, Larry Brown.
Imagine the possibilities!
August 6th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
as was i. i still could tell you everthing that was going to happen in each episode with 10 secs of the first scene. pathetic.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
Totally off random and off topic but has anyone watched Jurassic Fight Club on the History channel yet? I caught two hours of it last night and am like a little child learning about dinosaurs again.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:53 pm
One time in college I got drunk took 2 xanex and a Perkaset and when I woke up I findout that I had purchased season one and 2 of saved by the bell…Not cool.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:54 pm
is gmail down?
August 6th, 2008 at 3:54 pm
cbh, not sure what timezone you live in, but here in the central it is on from 6:00-8:00 a.m. on tbs.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:54 pm
/Zach Attacked
No lie, my cable has the West Coast feeds of TBS and TNT, so I get SBTB from 7-9 and 10-noon every day.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
TBL, gmail is up for me.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
@TBL, no.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:56 pm
i think i would violate my own bill of rights if i told you what i did during one of my own blackouts.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:56 pm
Thanks Ark, it would be 7-9 for me.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:58 pm
the chick from the “Attic” episode remains my personal fave. even though she went to USC.
August 6th, 2008 at 3:59 pm
Game I’d love to see: Karl Malone’s Little Mexican Girls Hunt.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:00 pm
@ill – from the department of the genius of lozo “fuck dinosaurs (last paragraph)“
August 6th, 2008 at 4:00 pm
will be in the roundup tomorrow but do we listen to this guy and do as he says?
August 6th, 2008 at 4:01 pm
The Attic episode was fantastic, man I miss that show, wish I was more of a morning person or a had a job with more normal hours.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:02 pm
@cbh: DVR, man.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
@TBL – fine with me
August 6th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
cbh, it’s also on some channel called “The N” at 10-11pm CDT
August 6th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
Yes, exactly what this guy needs — a fucking shrink.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
do we listen to this guy and do as he says?
Nope. He’s not the boss of me.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
@TBL: Nah dont listen to that guy. I would get a therapist to find out what makes this guy nuts and turn it aginst him.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:05 pm
tbl..I am for killing lots of People..so what the hell..he will never be rehabilitated
August 6th, 2008 at 4:05 pm
ROTFLMAO!!!
August 6th, 2008 at 4:07 pm
Yeah go ahead and kill the guy, but make sure you give him the eye for eye treatment first. Ears, then nose, then off with his head. This guy makes me sick.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
I say you leave that decision up to the victims family. They’re the ones who know how to best make their peace.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
Tampa, in all honesty, only Dr. Tobias Funke could help this guy. An analyst and therapist. A sort of “analrapist”, if you will.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
I say give the man what he asked for.
Saved by The Bell > SBTB “the new class” + SBTB The College Years

NSFW cindy crawford sunbathing shots …
August 6th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
Ditto what was said above, haven’t read something and felt sick in a long time but that story definitely did it.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
If the Dog has Rabies you kill it…same with Humans..this dude has Rabies..Child Molesters have Rabies….kill the fuckers and move on..a family never truly gets peace from something like this
August 6th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
Nick I hear you, just think it might take up space on my DVR and I won’t watch them but it’s a good thought.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
what good can this man possibly do alive? so he pleads insanity, goes to the looney bin, and 10 years later, he’s ‘reformed.’ 15 years later, he strikes again.
hey, im a catholic, but in instances like this, it’s tough as hell for me to NOT say fry the bastard
what if that kid who died was your friend? or brother?
August 6th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
Threadjack:
Why do the Indians suck this year? Check out the box from today’s game…
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/boxscore?gid=280806130
They managed to give up 6 runs in the bottom of the 9th without recording an out, thankyouverymuch.
Add the injuries to the moistsweatyassawful bullpen and you have a team that is in last place behind the Royals… No offense NWilson26…
August 6th, 2008 at 4:13 pm
If the Dog has Rabies you kill it…same with Humans..this dude has Rabies..Child Molesters have Rabies….kill the fuckers and move on..a family never truly gets peace from something like this
You are quite the Philosopher my friend…Seriously What?
August 6th, 2008 at 4:13 pm
I didn’t think Canada had the death penalty
August 6th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
killing the dude and putting him out of his misery is too humane. i say let him live.
/hi, im george costanza, im unemployed and live with my parents
August 6th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
No offense taken Wallly!!!!!! I love reading about the Indians sucking worse than all of the other teams in the Central! As short lived as it may be, I’m soaking it all in.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
Threadjack: the Indians bullpen is the worst in the history of all baseball. PISS!
August 6th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
If you don’t understand that you have issue…the Fucking guy who decapitated a guy and ate him as issues..he will never bee fixed..TBL posed a question..thats my answer…you kill the fucker
August 6th, 2008 at 4:16 pm
You may be the only catholic named “Raj” I’ve ever heard of, but then again, I may be the only member of the Nation of Islam named “Rex Kramer” who also is an ordained minister in the Universal Life Church of God (at least I think that’s what the certificate and wallet card says).
August 6th, 2008 at 4:16 pm
Wally – how do they even field those guys? Someone somewhere has to be better… they sure can’t be any worse. PISS!!!!
August 6th, 2008 at 4:17 pm
@OUMike: Brewers will give you Mota and Gagne for LaPorta back?
August 6th, 2008 at 4:17 pm
an ordained minister in the Universal Life Church of God (at least I think that’s what the certificate and wallet card says).
You eat Trinity Puffs cereal too!?
August 6th, 2008 at 4:18 pm
If you’re religous then why does it matter what happens to him for the remainder of this life? Won’t anything done to him now pale in comparison to what will happen in the afterlife?
I have no problem killing the man, but will that really make anyone feel better about what happened?
August 6th, 2008 at 4:18 pm
Actually, that is a result of their sucking, not a cause.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:18 pm
just a guess, but if the catholicness of our gracious host is from family roots, I’d say it’s the McIntyre side (irish origins)?
/if that sounds in any way racist, then /NickP
August 6th, 2008 at 4:19 pm
haha miz
August 6th, 2008 at 4:19 pm
@benji – no, but thanks for the offer. Off all of the people in that bullpen, they have 1 guy (Perez) that is remotely reliable. Bad bullpens are entirely frustrating.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:19 pm
Nice Cindy Crawford link, TBL. She is still absolutely bringin’ the heat.
/first we get jobs, then we get yachts, then we get coke, then we get the super models.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:20 pm
probably not, but justice will have been served by depriving him of what he deprived his victim – life.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
Rex, what kind of danger is your flavor?
August 6th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
ill..no it won’t but I am dealing with practicality here…why pay for a guy to live when he will never be fixed? Kill him..its cheaper..We care to much about the lives of people who would kill us or rape our children..and I am not talking about a one time Murder or a passion thing..Serial Killers, pedophiles and the like have no functioning place on this planet.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
I think understanding the mastery of satffing a good bullpen every year is up there with some of the great philosophical questions of all time.
The Tribe’s pen last year was as lights out as any pen could be, including Joe “heart attack waiting to happen” Borowski as closer. Betancourt, Perez, Lewis, plus a myriad of others put an absolute clamp on everyone from the 7th on.
They add Kobayashi, who was a great closer in Japan, to add to the mix of setup men for this year.
Borowski falls on his ass (stops taking the juice?). Betancourt goes from unhittable to HR King. Perez is still good, but not unhittable. Lewis loses 5 MPH on his fastball. Kobayashi is great unless he pitches in the 9th. About 5 others guys in the bushes come up and do WORSE than this bunch.
I don’t know how Shapiro could do anything differently before the year started. But, it is definitely an unmitigated disaster.
/REALLY FRUSTRATED TRIBE GUY
August 6th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
Bad bullpens are entirely frustrating.
Welcome to the life of a 2007 Orioles fan.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:22 pm
That dude shouldn’t be put to death by a state-sanctioned execution… mostly because it is just too damned expensive and he burdens the taxpayer yet again. A better solution is to happen to turn the other way for a few minutes while some violent offenders do him in (ala Jeffrey Dahmer).
August 6th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
Or maybe it’s just that he hasn’t been good since 2003?
August 6th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
Nice Crawford link TBL.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
Commandment #5: You shall not kill.
All Catholics who adhere specifically to their creed oppose capital punishment because it violates the 5th commandment
August 6th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
That fantasy football for wives was a joke. Seriously, do none of your wives/girlfriends like sports? I just can’t fathom that. That is pretty much most of what we watch. We even went to watch the little league southern regionals because a Tampa team is in it.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
I love to hear other people bitch about bad teams.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:25 pm
RWH – death penalty is many times more expensive than putting him in prison for the remainder of his life (not that I think he should live or anything like that).
August 6th, 2008 at 4:26 pm
This year has so many shit bullpens it is unreal.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:26 pm
Exactly what Almighty said, you can’t oppose abortion and then be cool with the death penalty.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:27 pm
You can, but you can’t cite religion as your reasoning if you do
August 6th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
@guinness – I am lucky that my wife is into college football, college basketball, and the NFL. she’s not as serious about it as me but she will watch games with me and she’s getting pretty jacked about football season starting too.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
wilson, well said. that is funny.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
nwilson – I would be fine if everyone was bad… (e.g., from starters to bullpen). But, we have the probably Cy Young winner, we had CC (who had 4-6 bad starts and then was dominating), and Fausto has been average when healthy. But the bullpen finds new and exciting ways to suck my asshole every day. It is really depressing… I just wish they were entirely bad so that I could stop watching after the first inning.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:29 pm
I disagree with this. A baby has done nothing to determine he/she’s not worthy of life. A serial killer has.
Not a religious issue with me.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:29 pm
every state should do what texas does…if there are 3 credible eyewitnesses to a violent crime, front of the line.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:29 pm
Mizer that is cool…I am getting excited about football season too..though baseball is actually enjoyable this year(go Rays!). Although not too psyched if Fav-ra comes here..
August 6th, 2008 at 4:29 pm
OU..the way we do it..of course..nothing like a bullet to the back of the head to cheapen things..I never got humane killing..you die..you die
August 6th, 2008 at 4:29 pm
Actually, most religions do believe in the death penalty as an eye-for-an-eye type thing. It’s in the Old Testament not too long after the 5th commandment.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:30 pm
Ark, your squad is fading fast w/o Ankiel next to Pooholes.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:30 pm
/sportsgal’d
August 6th, 2008 at 4:30 pm
@guinnessgirl:did you get a chance to watch that Guiness Commercial that posted yesterday?
August 6th, 2008 at 4:30 pm
No, and nothing personal, but I absolutely love the fact that she doesn’t like sports (outside of PSU football). She can read something or be on the computer while I watch sports, but I have no interest in discussing Farve/Fantasy Football/LeBron with her. She’s great, we do lots of things together, but sports (and drugs) are my temporary escape, not to be shared with the wife.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:30 pm
But..let us forget this silly debate..Irish has just had his first post..may us all rejoice
August 6th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
You guys are right, I should have been more clear, I was speaking from a Catholic’s perspective.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
Yes I did…all I could do was laugh…I think I will seriously have to change my name since that will constantly pop up in your minds..
August 6th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
Dammit I forgot to watch that!
August 6th, 2008 at 4:33 pm
My wife watches football with me but only Saints games. During the the nba finals we became mortal enemies because she hates Kobe and rooted for the Celtics.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:33 pm
GG13 was rockin’ the boat in that clip…Can’t wait until the States get uncensored tv.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:34 pm
wilson, tell me about it. And really if we were just losing, that would at least be understandable. But the shit like what went down last night (although we did somehow end up winning) is what really pisses me off to no end. How the fuck Mozeliak sits around and makes no move whatsover to help the bullpen baffles me. I mean, even the astro’s made a couple moves to try and shore up the pen and they are 8 games behind us in the standings.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:34 pm
Now changing name to Chardonnay…
August 6th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
The Cubs just look so tough this year I’m starting to think it isn’t going to matter. I can see the Dodgers coming on strong.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:36 pm
+1 guinness. we all know that happened at the topless car wash.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:36 pm
Roman… I agree. I do believe there is a natural deficiancy with him (and others) that can’t be corrected. But there are different types of extremist. You have these people who truly believe in killing, raping, etc… and then you have people truly believe it’s justified to kill women who have abortions or people based on their race. So what makes it ok for people to decide when other people deserve to die? There will always be a faction that doesn’t agree with the majority regardless of the topic.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:37 pm
Guinness, I had to stop reading as soon as I saw she suggested I bake something for the guys to eat during their draft. I realize about 85% of the female population doesn’t like sports, but I find it totally insulting that women should have to be at their man’s beck and call during his draft like we’re fucking maids. If you don’t like football, why not spend draft day getting drunk with your girlfriends? Go to the beach, get a mani/pedi, go shopping or to the movies, etc.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:43 pm
Wives and sports: the key is appreciation not interference.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:43 pm
Seriously, do none of your wives/girlfriends like sports
My girlfriend likes to give me head during the Bears games does that count.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:47 pm
@ Tampa Bo. That is better than her breaking down the cover 2.
August 6th, 2008 at 4:54 pm
sportsgal..sweety…relax..men were making jokes..I understand women don’t have the humor gene…so just relax put your feet up and get some cucumbers on those eyes..no reason to hurt that pretty little head of yours
August 6th, 2008 at 4:58 pm
no one patronizes SG better.
August 6th, 2008 at 5:00 pm
You think I’m pretty, Roman?! OMG!
/go fuck yourself.
August 6th, 2008 at 5:04 pm
SG..I actually just read that thing..that is some good Southern Upbringing right there…my wife wouldn’t pass me a beer if she was standing next to the fridge..oh and she hates all of you..my fake friends
August 6th, 2008 at 5:07 pm
My girlfriend doesn’t even know about my fake friends.
August 6th, 2008 at 5:08 pm
No, it’s not good southern upbringing, it’s just another insecure woman who feels it’s necessary to spend every waking minute with her husband.
And I’m sure the reason your wife wouldn’t pass you a beer is because you’re a jerk. A Major. League. Jerk.
August 6th, 2008 at 5:15 pm
SG..thanks for the plug…CBH..I do my posts from home…as I am doing them I am chatting it up under the lights with the gang…I laugh sometimes and she shoots me looks because
a) I am watching a Met game
b) I have MLB.tv up on 6 games
c) I am writing and she is not allowed to distract me as I write
d) I may or may not be damaging my daughter
e) I occasionally get racy pics from Rex..and have to explain
f) I have a facebook account open to a girl she doesn’t know and then have to explain who sportsgal is
g) I keep getting G-Chat messages from Hef and the make noises that might wake the baby through the speakers which are on because of #2
Those are a few of the reasons
August 6th, 2008 at 5:16 pm
Hahhaha, classic Roman.
August 6th, 2008 at 5:35 pm
Hey cbh off topic here you have a ps3 right?
August 6th, 2008 at 5:42 pm
Yes I do 49er brother
August 6th, 2008 at 5:54 pm
When you installed the virus protection did it screw with your internet? Mine fucked up my you-tube.
August 6th, 2008 at 5:56 pm
I’ll have to get back to you, my roomate set that stuff up.
August 6th, 2008 at 5:57 pm
OK and its finally quitting time.
August 6th, 2008 at 6:36 pm
Actually, I invited her to come. We needed someone to help the out-of-towners draft. Nice stab, though!
