Glazer Does it Again: Favre to the Jets
NFL August 7th. 2008, 12:07am
The intrepid Fox Sports reporter is reporting that the Jets – the Jets! – have traded for Green Bay Packers QB Brett Favre.
It’s sort of comical – we wrote this last week, and Wednesday, all we could think about was taking it back. Favre took douche levels into another solar system this week with his cheerful and confident Sunday flight into Green Bay … followed swiftly by his pouty Wednesday flight back to Mississippi.
The good news: Aaron Rodgers can sleep easy tonight. After his first pick, the nightmares will begin anew. The bad news: Chad Pennington must be devastated. The good news: Jeff Garcia gets to keep his job and go home to the prom queen. The bad news: Favre in New York can only result in bedlam this fall for Gotham.
This photo? Browning Nagle. He actually was the Jets starter for a minute.

Losers always whine about their best. Winners go home and fuck the prom queen.

FIESTA GRANDE!!!
/TBL

Thank God! Now that he’s playing in NYC, we won’t have to hear about
him ever again [insert sarcastic smirk here]. I think this will
officially ruin the NFL season for anyone not named Johnny Bagadonuts
from Staten Island!
August 7th, 2008 at 12:20 am
TBL uses that name to order pizzas.

The Rock was a great movie. At least, after 1227554 months of bullsh!t, actual news involving Brett Farve. Now we can all move on with our lives.
August 7th, 2008 at 12:25 am
trade him NOW!!!!
August 7th, 2008 at 12:26 am
So I’m assuming it will be safe to draft a Jets reciever in my fantasy draft this month…
August 7th, 2008 at 12:27 am
So… Anyone want to guess how the Jets will do next year? After taking a quick gander at the schedule, I’ll go with 9-7, just missing the wild card.
August 7th, 2008 at 12:28 am
Is this big enough news for Francesa to do the show tomorrow, even though he’s on vacation?
How much did this move increase the cost of the impending Jets PSLs?
August 7th, 2008 at 12:28 am
8-8. They still look like an average team on paper. And we all know NFL games are played on paper…
August 7th, 2008 at 12:30 am
All aboard the WAHHHHHmbulance!
August 7th, 2008 at 12:32 am
will there be French Fries on that WAHHHMBULANCE? Sorry, I mean Freedom Fries
August 7th, 2008 at 12:35 am
one thing overlooked (not really), but GB plays TB in week 4 (@ TB) and they don’t play the Jets at all.
August 7th, 2008 at 12:35 am
Why, if Favre’s whole point of coming back was to play with a contender, would he agree to play with the Jets? Even with Favre the Jets aren’t one of the six best teams in the AFC…He should have just stayed retired…
Chance that his legacy isn’t tarnished by playing one year as a New York Jet? 0%.
August 7th, 2008 at 12:36 am
..Favre hasn’t signed off on the deal yet.
August 7th, 2008 at 12:40 am
he hasn’t signed off yet but I’m sure during his meetings with they Pack they mentioned only 2 possible places they’d trade him. and he already said he didn’t want Tampa
August 7th, 2008 at 12:41 am
hasn’t signed off on it? where else is this douchebag gonna go? oh,yeah,he has to run it by Deanna, aka Bitch who must be obeyed.
August 7th, 2008 at 12:42 am
I thought he liked Waffle Houses
August 7th, 2008 at 12:42 am
Holy shit – I am honestly shocked. Well those shifty local CBS games just got a whole lot interesting.
August 7th, 2008 at 12:42 am
August 7th, 2008 at 12:43 am
Damn that worked better in my mind
August 7th, 2008 at 12:44 am
Ahem – shitty.
August 7th, 2008 at 12:46 am
On the bright side for Chad – it limits his opportunities to get hurt.
August 7th, 2008 at 12:46 am
rs27, made me laugh. well done.
August 7th, 2008 at 12:48 am
anyone else find it laugh out loud funny how all of a sudden everyone thinks the jets are wild card contenders just because of favre? get out of here with that shit man… he isn’t going to do ANYTHING with the skill position help he has in NY.. gregg jennings, driver, jones, and grant made favre last year, not the other way other around.. he’s been pretty inefficient for 2-3 years now sans last year with the help from recievers, and once you take away the constant, down goes favre.
August 7th, 2008 at 12:48 am
Only eaten there once and it was overpriced garbage. And I was drunk so I can’t imagine paying that much coin for that crap sober.
August 7th, 2008 at 12:53 am
cortes, Coles and Cotchery aren’t horrible IMO.
BTW, where have you been. Didn’t see you during Lebatard. Though I could be wrong.
August 7th, 2008 at 12:54 am
There is nothing I would like more than to see this blow up in both parties faces.
I hope both Green Bay and Favre have disastrous seasons. I really hope Favre can further tarnish his legacy.
August 7th, 2008 at 12:56 am
the only thing that can really tarnish a legacy is the media. and Favre has his dick so far down their throats that it’ll never happen
August 7th, 2008 at 12:57 am
His legacy in GB has to have taken a hit – he was a hero to those sheep and he left them high and dry.
August 7th, 2008 at 12:57 am
he should sign with a euro league team…
August 7th, 2008 at 1:00 am
I hear they pay good money over there for basketball and futbol players
August 7th, 2008 at 1:02 am
When will the media morons figure out what a schlepper Peter King is? He has his tongue completely up Favre’s anal column for years and still gets scooped by Glazer and Mortenson and others day after day. And I still hear the sportstalk goofballs salivate about having the schlepper on their shows — wake up, fools.
August 7th, 2008 at 1:06 am
sportsnut, take it easy. Peter King had 3, count ‘em, 3 coffee’s in his hands. you try checking your text messages with that much coffee.
August 7th, 2008 at 1:07 am
Why don’t the Jets just trade him to the Vikings or Bears now?
August 7th, 2008 at 1:16 am
broseph, there’s no chance the Pack made that trade without writing some kind of 1 year no-trade clause. Which makes me wonder if the players union would approve this trade. Which also makes me wonder, does the union get a right of refusal in trades?
August 7th, 2008 at 1:20 am
Is there such a thing as a team being able to write in a no-trade clause? Unless they amended their contract with Favre, I don’t think they could add that stipulation if it supersedes whatever no-trade provisions exist in his contract.
August 7th, 2008 at 1:22 am
I’m sure they can’t. But, I’m sure they can add that if the Jets trade him then they’d have to give up numerous draft picks to GB.
August 7th, 2008 at 1:25 am
ESPN reporting that its a 4th round pick right now. If he plays 60 percent of the snaps its a 3rd rounder. If he plays 70 and the Jets make the playoffs its a second and if he plays 80 percent and the Jets make the SUPER BOWL!!! its a 1st.
Interesting I guess.
August 7th, 2008 at 1:27 am
good grab rs, so most of us are probably in agreement that it’s a 3rd rounder?
August 7th, 2008 at 2:56 am
Man, I don’t see Farve-in-NY doing anything but ending badly. The NY press will be ALL over him, first bad start he has. If he thinks the press in Mississippi Burning or WI is bad and nosey, he should just wait…
And you can be sure there is at least a gentleman’s agreement between the Chumps and the Pack not to again trade or release Favre for at least a year.
August 7th, 2008 at 6:13 am
thought the coverage was unbearable in Green Bay? now it is going to be downright sickening. crap.
August 7th, 2008 at 6:13 am
Terrific. The only thing that could make the Brett Favre story more obnoxious would be if he was traded to New York.
He’s the top fricking story on CNBC right now.
August 7th, 2008 at 6:28 am
All I can say is that I’m glad TB doesn’t have to deal with the Favre mess anymore… unfortunately he get trade to biggest media market in America…Great just what Favre needed, more coverage
Btw if he gets trade to Viking from the Jets, GB get 3 FIRST ROUNDS PICKS, so yea, Travis Jackson, your job is now officially safe
August 7th, 2008 at 7:23 am
they are already calling in Broadway Brett, kill me now.
August 7th, 2008 at 7:31 am
TBL – I specifically remember Greenburg saying he didnt want Farve about a month ago, it was something along the lines of “he’s not our guy, he’s a GB guy” now this scmuck is all about him. Somebody find that audio and or video. I hate that prick. Golic can stay, he reminds me of Baloo.
August 7th, 2008 at 7:36 am
vicious sarcasm there!!
August 7th, 2008 at 8:00 am
I cant even watch sports TV or listen to sports radio right now. its fucking obnoxious. saved by the bell reruns, here i come!
August 7th, 2008 at 9:23 am
Does this finally put the nail in this story? Or must we suffer through another week of “analysis”, “breakdowns” and footage of Favre’s “arrival at Jets camp”?
Favre will soon replace F–k as the preeminent curse word. Favre this blog! Favre that chat!
