Not a bad tradeoff, huh?
August 8th, 2008 at 8:09 am

i cannot believe that Jets are letting Favre wear Glenn Foley’s number 4.
August 8th, 2008 at 8:39 am
Speaking of “The Cute Kardashian Sister”, when are we getting some more Kim K (or other K) on The Roundup? I’ve been missing.
August 8th, 2008 at 8:41 am
US soccer fans trying to be hooligans……like the thought, but its just kind of weak
August 8th, 2008 at 8:46 am
@WhoDey: Check out http://www.imfamousformybigass.com or http://www.notalentbigass.com or http://www.morecottagecheeseforme.com
Meanwhile, keep that thing off of the roundup. This site is sooo much better than that.

August 8th, 2008 at 8:55 am
Great Duff pic. Who could have recommended that to TBL?
/points to self
August 8th, 2008 at 8:56 am
Also, this is a fun game — guess the party affiliation!
Gotta love the AP.
August 8th, 2008 at 8:59 am
kudos to NickP for stepping up and taking the blame from TBL for picking a turrible pic of Duff.
August 8th, 2008 at 9:01 am
anyone noticed that wood-paneled Jeep in the background? those things were official.
August 8th, 2008 at 9:01 am
@Wally: I don’t know what you’re talking about - Kim K and TBL go together like Peanut Butter & Jelly.
August 8th, 2008 at 9:03 am
Piss poor personal decisions don’t nullify some of the great points he made, but yes, John Edwards’ career as a professional candidate is justifiably 100% done.
August 8th, 2008 at 9:04 am
@miz: There is no such thing as a bad pic of H-Duff, but your kudos are duly noted.
August 8th, 2008 at 9:04 am
The following was John Edwards’ response to CBS News anchor Katie Couric’s question about whether voters should care if a presidential candidate is faithful to his spouse:
“Of course. I mean, for a lot of Americans — including the family that I grew up with, I mean, it’s fundamental to how you judge people and human character — whether you keep your word, whether you keep what is your ultimate word, which is that you love your spouse, and you’ll stay with them. … I think the most important qualities in a president in today’s world are trustworthiness — sincerity, honesty, strength of leadership. And — and certainly that goes to a part of that.”
August 8th, 2008 at 9:06 am
Mandy Moore > Hillary Duff
August 8th, 2008 at 9:07 am
@nwilson: No arguments from me. Mandy is #1 in my book.
August 8th, 2008 at 9:07 am
Also, this is a fun game — guess the party affiliation!
Haha! So true! Republicans only have gay affairs.

August 8th, 2008 at 9:13 am
Hillary Duff at 16 > current Hillary Duff
that is a disgusting comment
August 8th, 2008 at 9:18 am
Um, wrong link maybe? Try here for a little background.
August 8th, 2008 at 9:19 am
The following is Bush’s assumed response to news he got nailed forging documents to manufacture a case for war:
“Oh. Shit. Can I leave yet? Anyone who can read already wants me to leave and I’m obviously the most intellectually and morally flawed person ever elected to the White House [followed by inaudible weeping]…”
August 8th, 2008 at 9:21 am
Thanks, Joe Buck.
August 8th, 2008 at 9:21 am
Mike: Where does it say that Kwame had gay affairs? I think youre misunderstanding me.
August 8th, 2008 at 9:22 am
Kwame Kilpatrick is/was the most obvious product of a corrupt machine [much like the Fords in Memphis, though I like Harold Ford Jr.]
It’s dumbfounding that he was ever elected in the first place.
August 8th, 2008 at 9:24 am
Oh, brother - picking on Bush again? That shit’s old. You must have BDS.
Anyway, back to bashing Barack Hussein!
/Mike NYC
August 8th, 2008 at 9:25 am
I’m not sure how “affairs” of any kind have anything to do with my first link re Kilpatrick … so, um, your comment kind of threw me off.
August 8th, 2008 at 9:25 am

August 8th, 2008 at 9:27 am
@miker: she’s not the cute one. the cute one is Kourtney.
August 8th, 2008 at 9:28 am
Nice, clown.

kwame is the african dude from captain planet:
earth!
August 8th, 2008 at 9:34 am
@ mike: fair enough… but what did party affiliation have to do with it? Scandals are across the board.
August 8th, 2008 at 9:37 am
Well, if we use one of mmonast’s examples … that was kind of my point. [2nd graph]
August 8th, 2008 at 9:37 am
Kwame is an American hero.

Live blog of the Olympic opening ceremonies!?
August 8th, 2008 at 9:38 am
i know mike…i was showing that scandals happen to the GOP too…to point out a democrat for cheating is stupid because you can look across the aisle and see just as many republicans doing the same (or worse)
August 8th, 2008 at 9:41 am
no shot at a liveblog of that, Miz.
HOWEVER … introduced the in-laws to Grand Theft Auto 4 last night for a few hours. They were riveted. Man, that game rocks.

Sorry @Miz, not august. But you’re invited too, none the less.
August 8th, 2008 at 9:44 am

August 8th, 2008 at 9:44 am
because the Olympic opening ceremonies and GTA 4 are intimately related?
August 8th, 2008 at 9:49 am
Is there a pres candidate running who cheated then left his wife after a vicious accident to go marry a sugar momma?
/not sure, don’t follow politics
August 8th, 2008 at 9:49 am
@August - I really felt kinda bad for Ford because he was related to his corrupt family. with some more national political experience, I think he would be a more electable presidential candidate than Barack.
August 8th, 2008 at 9:50 am
GTA IV does rock, but it’s kinda bothersome that 11-year olds are having their parents get the game for them and playing it, no one under the age of 16 should be playing that game.
August 8th, 2008 at 9:51 am
@TBL- i heard senior citizens prefered the Wii. Gets them to exercise and to get that circulation flowing
August 8th, 2008 at 9:57 am
Both parties have scandals, but the AP is much better at including the party label when its an R.
August 8th, 2008 at 9:58 am
“Hillary Duff at 16 > current Hillary Duff”
Most definitely.
Edwards had no shot at VP any way.
August 8th, 2008 at 10:00 am
Im partial to the Orange Chicken at Panda Express
August 8th, 2008 at 10:00 am
GTA IV rocks havent played it in about a month now though. Its amazing how many teens play the game go out and do stupid shit and want to blame the game for it. Where are there fucking parents?

I love politics as much as the next guy, but this is a sports blog - go to politco.com or something if you want to argue about that crap.
August 8th, 2008 at 10:09 am
Or burying it waaaaay down at the bottom.
Come on, I’ve give you 4 examples so far!

August 8th, 2008 at 10:15 am
Mike, that was a CNN report on Spitzer…

August 8th, 2008 at 10:20 am
D what, D bag? I don’t need them to tell me that.
/sincere
August 8th, 2008 at 10:31 am
Point taken.
August 8th, 2008 at 10:31 am
Paranoid is a good description..
There is a difference between Congress and Governors/mayors. Senators and Representatives are routinely referred to as “Party - State”. So fucking sick of the cries of liberal media bias.
August 8th, 2008 at 10:36 am
So fucking sick of the cries of liberal media bias.
Either you are watching Fox News or you are completely blind.
August 8th, 2008 at 10:41 am
cracker jack has a point.
August 8th, 2008 at 10:43 am
My gf’s aunt works in the media, she is a television reporter in Dallas, Texas. She was telling me it is ingrained in members of the media to think with a liberal slant, defend the common man against big business.
Of course that doesn’t make everyone liberal but the media goes for the best stories, which tend to have a liberal bias and slant towards them.
August 8th, 2008 at 10:46 am
What difference would that be?
/could do this all day
August 8th, 2008 at 10:49 am
Yeah, stories about tax cuts for the rich don’t have that sizzle that they used to.
August 8th, 2008 at 10:51 am
Rich doesn’t equal Republican.

August 8th, 2008 at 10:59 am
Clown didn’t say that, he just playfully pointed out that Republican does equal helping those who already have the means to help themselves (i.e. massive tax cuts for the top 1% while govt. spending spirals out of control due to programs that don’t help those really in need).
August 8th, 2008 at 11:08 am
My gf’s aunt works in the media, she is a television reporter in Dallas, Texas. She was telling me it is ingrained in members of the media to think with a liberal slant, defend the common man against big business.
I work in the media, right now at a television station. “Ingrained to think with a liberal slant”, that is a load of crap.
August 8th, 2008 at 11:10 am
August, any thoughts on the so-called Fair Tax?
August 8th, 2008 at 11:22 am
Not particularly, though on a knee jerk level I distrust anything wit “Fair” in the name… how about yourself?
August 8th, 2008 at 11:25 am
Yeah I don’t know too much about it either, I just remember Huckabee (I think?) being behind it.
August 8th, 2008 at 11:28 am
Yeah.. that’s the whole ‘abolish the tax code’ movement… their progressive sales tax is interesting, but I’d have to have some impartial people who are way more knowledgeable than I about macro-economics go over it at length before I’d feel very secure about doing something that drastic.
August 8th, 2008 at 12:25 pm
I work in the media, right now at a television station. “Ingrained to think with a liberal slantâ€, that is a load of crap.
Or maybe she just had a different experience than you? Wow, that might be possible.
August 8th, 2008 at 1:30 pm
Or maybe she just had a different experience than you? Wow, that might be possible.
uh, you said ingrained in the members of the media. That sounds like you’re (or she) is saying this of all members of the media. Maybe you should tell her next time not to make such a broad generalization, that might be possible.
August 8th, 2008 at 2:14 pm
by cute you mean not attractive?
