No need for us to further inflate the egos of Urban Meyer and Tim Tebow. Meyer possesses a devious offensive mind; Tebow (bonus photo after the jump!) is a stronger, more accurate version of former Nebraska QBs like Tommy Frazier and Eric Crouch. (Some might worry about Tebow possibly losing focus with his many distractions; doubtful.) Everyone knows the Gators - who return eight starters on offense, including fun-to-watch WR-RB hybrid Percy Harvin - will score at a prodigious pace. (We’re pumped to see speedy Chris Rainey, too.) But can the defense, which lost its best player to the NFL draft, stop anyone?

Eventually, someone - Jermaine Cunningham? Carlos Dunlap? - will emerge as a star on the defensive line, because somebody always does (Kearse, Warren, Moss, Harvey, etc). The linebackers, led by All-SEC talent Brandon Spikes, are solid. The secondary? It can’t be worse than last year - the Gators pass defense was ranked last in the SEC. But with zero senior starters and only one, Major Wright, whom we trust, will things improve?

You know what might save the defense? A favorable schedule: depending on what you think of Florida State, Tennessee could be the only true road test. However, we wouldn’t rule out teams like Hawaii and South Carolina coming into the Swamp and pushing the Gators due to UF’s inability to stop the pass. We’re thinking 10 or 11 wins, with a loss to Georgia and in a bowl game.

10. Tennessee
9. BYU
8. Clemson
7. LSU
6. West Virginia
5. Ohio State
