PM Roundup: DC Ballers Know How to Party
College Football, Media Gossip/Musings, NBA, NFL, Video September 3rd. 2008, 3:00pm
Really wanted to work in a new member of the 90210 cast here – since it was a ratings success – but you’ll have to settle for Miranda Kerr, the Victoria Secret model.
Andray Blatche of the Wizards has a moderately cool b-day jam: KD and Beasley were there, as well as a pink-shirt wearing Gilbert Arenas and lots of tall men wearing straight-billed caps. (DC Sports Blog)
Anyone know why the Jags aren’t on Fidel Goodell’s radar? (CBS Sports)
Posnanski’s debut second offering at Sports Illustrated. (SI)
Pacman’s strange sartorial decision. (Landry Hat)
Weird to see Lamar Odom’s name partying with all those celebs, but hey, sounds like fun. (Eye Patch Dude)
Gannett continues to made inroads online. (Yahoo)
Interesting chat with Kathryn Bertine, who narrowly missed the Olympics. (Sports on My Mind)
Dull pennant races. (USA Today)
Snapshots of college football’s first week. (Wiz of Odds)
The funny double-ball video from the Wrigley Ivy last night. (MLB.com via Fark)
Scientific study: Why do we watch sports? (Lion in Oil)
Kyle Boller’s season is over before it began, so he’s free to romance C-listers. (AP)
Always room for an old school Manning photo. (Sparty & Friends)
And big-hair Palin, as well. (Reader)
Fred Taylor, allegedly, to police dogs looking in his car for drugs: “Get that f***ing dog out of the car.” (YBF)

90210 ratings beat out Smallville, impressive. Smallville is the second most anticipated premiere of the year for me (24:Exile)

The most successful debut in CW history. It’s like The Dark Knight of 3rd-tier cable television!

I read the article and I still don’t understand how 5 of the 6 divisions in baseball being up for grabs is dull.

see ya,

Didn’t Blatche get caught with a hooker last year?

America’s Game: The story of the 2007 New York Giants premiers tonight on NFL Network, should be good.
RomanWarHelmet is planning on showing up to the site tomorrow to talk about the Giants beginning their quest toward mediocrity in 2008 right?

Who are we kidding? Kyle Boller is gayer than gay buttsex.

September 3rd, 2008 at 3:16 pm

“Posnanski didn’t leave his KC paper did he?”
Nope.

The NBA should’ve embraced them. I mean c’mon, who’s fooled by the NBA tossing them out of the program?

You can take the players out of Lawrence, but you can’t take Lawrence out of the players.

lowest grossing team in the NFL that can’t sell out playoff games in a market that can’t sustain a team full of players who are sick of being targets of racism playing for an owner who is sick to death of being in the region…makes me think goodell doesn’t care because they aren’t making any moneyFOOTBAW!!!

At CBH I heard from a manager of a hotel where NBA teams stay when in Salt Lake that the LA Clippers are the biggest pot smokers in the league. They just stay in the hotel and get baked. I guess there really is not much else for them to do here.
September 3rd, 2008 at 3:27 pm
Are the Clippers holding tryouts soon?
September 3rd, 2008 at 3:30 pm
@Sparty: Smallville premieres the 18th. It looks like a “Justice League” episode with Green Arrow, Black Canary, and the much maligned, but my favorite, Aquaman.
September 3rd, 2008 at 3:30 pm
i wonder what NBA players like to smoke…if they’re fans of high grade, hydroponically grown, carefully cured weed or just like beesters or nasty brick shit weed.
September 3rd, 2008 at 3:31 pm
If I wasn’t a 6′2″ skinny white guy with no ups, a mediocre jumper and OK range with no dribbling skill at all whatsoever, I’d fit right in. The only thing I could do is outlast them all at anything that involved stamina. Dammit.
September 3rd, 2008 at 3:32 pm
saw the preview last night. they have new producers this year on the show…from what i read, they will be moving him more towards Superman than the original creators had originally wanted.
September 3rd, 2008 at 3:34 pm
Spencer, probably depends where they grew up, I bet a lot of them are happy with schwagg.
September 3rd, 2008 at 3:35 pm
I’d like to think they get the hydroponic, pricey stuff, but cbh is probably right. Most might also be too fucking dumb to know the difference.
September 3rd, 2008 at 3:36 pm
Shouldn’t smoking pot be a part of the NBA Rooking Transition Program?
September 3rd, 2008 at 3:43 pm
see…if i was an NBA player, i’d go nuts. id have pounds of all the best strains i could get my hands on. even if i was raised on schwag, id still get the most/best quantity/quality i could, just cuz im a baller.
i should try and join the PGA. hooters tour, here i come.
September 3rd, 2008 at 3:45 pm
spence has the right mindset. Too bad he can’t ball with me.
September 3rd, 2008 at 3:48 pm
Miranda Kerr is so fine
September 3rd, 2008 at 3:48 pm
You all need to stop talking about balling each other.
September 3rd, 2008 at 3:50 pm
Fuck.
September 3rd, 2008 at 3:51 pm
spencer, I got a buddy that plays on the hooters tour. Tough to make a living but he said it’s a good time.
September 3rd, 2008 at 4:15 pm
arkbadger…yea, ive heard it’s rough making ends meet especially since a lot of those guys don’t have many endorsements to pay the per diem. but then again, golf for a living is golf for a living.
