I am going to catch the WC feed of Stern. Looking forward to hearing O’Connell, good heads up.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:05 am
he is good on the show, i like how he throws in show references during his interviews
September 4th, 2008 at 8:08 am
way off topic-I was just checking the storm tracker for Hanna since I have family in South Carolina. Well it will still be a tropical storm come saturday and it is heading here to Jersey…it has been a few years since I was in the cone of death…

September 4th, 2008 at 8:13 am
She’s kinda hot….how do you decapitate a hot chick.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:17 am
thats the way to do it, when we play you guys here on MNF ill be doing the same
September 4th, 2008 at 8:19 am
Anytime I decapitate someone, I make sure they are ugly. That Egyptian really did a diservice to the world.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:20 am
Mike Greenberg got a nose job? Just weird.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:22 am
@cracker - not that I’m surprised, but where did you hear that?
September 4th, 2008 at 8:24 am
They were just talking about it nonchalantly on Mike & Mike, the same way they casually brought up that Golic took steroids that time.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:27 am
No politics in the Roundup? I am bit surprised.
Palin is a she-bag.

September 4th, 2008 at 8:27 am
all those comments about the new 90210 and gossip girl look pale in comparison.
what, no comments on palin’s speech? come on, i know you people watched …
September 4th, 2008 at 8:30 am
Wow, so the New York Sun is pretty much the worst place to intern ever. When I did my internship in Manhattan I wore whatever I wanted to work and when 6 p.m. hit I got the fuck outta dodge. I guess EW’s a bit different.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:30 am
Palin, IMO, had to be selected like something out of Farheinheit 451 or Brave New World. This shit is just downright scary.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:31 am
she pandered to her live audience, much like Biden and Obama did. I really look forward to the debates.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:32 am
I watched Palin’s speech… seemed, what’s the word… condescending? Too snarky and sarcastic for her first national speech.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:33 am
little white guy > Lebron
September 4th, 2008 at 8:34 am
And I guess the nose job was back when he was 20… his dad paid for it… even weirder. Must have been a honker.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:34 am
Biden said it best; “I was really impressed with how she rallied her supporters without ever mentioning Pakistan, the economy, terrorism and the increase in unemployment.”
September 4th, 2008 at 8:36 am
So true. She barely mentioned drilling for oil and winning wars. The rest of the speech was hockey moms and Obama sucks.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:39 am
A simple analysis of what actually has came out leads me to believe this bitch is Karl Rove with heels.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:39 am
I don’t really know too much about her right now, but I have a strange feeling Biden is going to eat her alive.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:41 am
Is Tampa Bay’s Geno Hayes the next Derrick Brooks
Barrett Ruud will take over
September 4th, 2008 at 8:42 am
Of all the pictures Ive seen of Palin this past week, has anyone been able to detect the puppet strings attached to her by the nut-job Christian Evangelicals?
How many times did she mention “Change” last night with no specifics?
September 4th, 2008 at 8:42 am
Charlize Theron was totally underrated in Hancock
I don’t see how she was… Almost every person over the age of 20 that saw that movie raved about her looks in it. I just think everyone was suprised at the size of her role because of the approach to the trailers.
Oh and Sparty/RWH, die slow fuckers. Sparty I’m glad you took tomorrow off. Now you’ll have some recovery time after tonight’s beat down.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:44 am
The speech was meant to introduce her to the conservative base and allow her to show them she is strong enought to take/dish out attacks on her. She did that effectively. If you were looking for a speech to pander to “the swing-voter” you were in the wrong spot. Not bad for her first time on the national stage though.
/No clue who I am voting for.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:45 am
i definitely not taking sides, yet. but she was introducing herself to the nation last night, just a couple days after being slammed about her daughter being pregnant. when the debates come, we will really get to know about her platform. at this point we still have no clue.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:46 am
Palin was dreadful, and I wasn’t expecting much. Way too snarky, came off as bitchy/condescending, not funny.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:48 am
And I guess she wasnt actually speaking to the entire nation when she told us Obama would raise our taxes. Not mine, bitch.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:50 am
Guys, she is being slammed because she hasnt done anything. She sounds like a “bat shit crazy” Jesus freak with no experience. It looks like she has used her position to carry out personal/family vendettas. I know who I am voting for and I also know it is useless to type this into a computer. Just being an American and seeing this shit, recognizing that a 72 year old man and a nutbag could be in the office makes me want to drive to Windsor and get a fresh start.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:52 am
I’ve delt with crowd control mechanisms for my job. One of the key components taught is never to provoke the crowd because you’re always out numbered. That officer on the right was out of line. The other officers who paid for his dumbass decision to beat the hell outta the guys should return the favor to him.
September 4th, 2008 at 8:52 am
She looks like a tranny.
I second cool_rick by the way.

September 4th, 2008 at 9:03 am
here’s my take of palin being criticized for lack of foreign police:
only twice in the past 108 years has america elected a senator. many of those presidents were either ex- or sitting govenors. how much foreign policy experience did reagan or clinton have?
plus, we’re talking about a vice president. maybe i’m out to lunch but i believe the president chooses his own cabinet and advisors.
September 4th, 2008 at 9:03 am
If someone who was truly objective watched Palin speak, you’d have to admit she was pretty damned good considering she was coming out of nowhere. This was not James Stockdale and certainly not Dan Quayle.
I’m very interested to see how she does in the VP debates. And by the way; while Biden does outpace her, experience-wise, long time Biden watchers (I was born in DE and went to high school there) know that Biden has a tendency to put his foot in his mouth and look like a fool on big stages. So, let’s not score the VP debates for Biden just yet.
If you were already voting for Obama (seemingly the majority of the people that comment here), outside of the revelation of a sex tape that she starred in, nothing was going to make you happy with her speech last night.

maggs a summary of that video please, dont have 119minutes to commit to watching it
September 4th, 2008 at 9:13 am
I actually watched it. Looks like troopers from Halo are arresting anybody they can catch. Good Link. Although the way she talks reminds me of Greta Van Suestren.
September 4th, 2008 at 9:16 am
Why does Hanna Storm dress like a slut for the AM SportsCenters?
September 4th, 2008 at 9:16 am
“If someone who was truly objective watched Palin speak, you’d have to admit she was pretty damned good considering she was coming out of nowhere. This was not James Stockdale and certainly not Dan Quayle. ”
She was pretty damn good if her goal was purely to show she was ready to fight. Some of us just would have liked to see more substance instead of being in attack mode. If you are truly objective, what are you take from that speech? You learned nothing. Stretching the truth doesn’t help either.
September 4th, 2008 at 9:17 am
Maggs, didn’t sit through the whole thing, was messed up what happen to the journalist though it does sound like some of the other protesters were a little rowdy, doesn’t excuse what the police did though.
Btw.. video was worth watching for about 10 mins just to see the old white activist dude with white dreads
September 4th, 2008 at 9:20 am
It was at the RNC and the police were a little brutal to a reporter there. It seems a little biased, but I don’t have sound at work so I really didn’t get the whole thing. No one is reporting it, which seems a little odd.

“Hi pot, I’m kettle.”
September 4th, 2008 at 9:24 am
I have a hundred reasons not to vote for McCain, and not one to vote for Obama.
The hipocrisy of this campaign, from both sides, is incredible.
September 4th, 2008 at 9:24 am
Respectfully disagree.
You learned that someone with allegedly no experience would not shrink giving a speech on a large national stage. She lived up to a big moment. Now she has to take the next step, and show some more substance. This is not unlike what Obama himself has had to go through in the course of his campaign.
But it’s only a step. Like I said, she has to get through the debates, which won’t be easy.
September 4th, 2008 at 9:24 am
Good morning Mr. Kettle, how are you this morning?
September 4th, 2008 at 9:25 am
VIDEO added to second post - it’s insane
September 4th, 2008 at 9:25 am
NSR: Say what you want about Obama, but at least in his speech he outlined his views and plans for taxes, the economy, Iraq, the mortgage crisis, he even brough up abortion and gay marriage. I’m not saying you can never attack your opponent, but at least talk about the issues for more than 30 seconds.
September 4th, 2008 at 9:27 am
I can’t remember who, but they said the VP Candidate basically has to be good on three days. The they are introduced, the convention speech, and the debate. 2 down one big one to go.
Personally, I find this race fascinating. Palin and Obama mirror each other in many ways, as do McCain and Biden. I’d almost rather see a debate with those pairs being matched-up.
September 4th, 2008 at 9:28 am
cracker jack,
That’s the Presidential nominee’s job. Not the VP’s. Let’s wait and see what McCain has to say before we judge the entire convention.
September 4th, 2008 at 9:29 am
Okay, Biden spent 80% of his speech attacking McCain, Obama finally used a speech to outline some policy after 12 months of change we can beleive in. Palin had to make an introduction to the republican base and re-assure them that she will be able to stand up to attacks from the dems. I dont see how her speech was any different than any obama/biden speech before Barry-O’s at Mile High.
/Hope that link is false TBL, im not voting for anyone yet, but damn, sucks for that husband if true.
September 4th, 2008 at 9:32 am
I love that people are citing the National Enquirer. Great.
They also reported Obama was involved in a Sex Scandal as well.

September 4th, 2008 at 9:35 am
jonedewar, you’re impressed that she was able to read a speech that a team of speechwriters prepared for her?
I’m still wondering, has she ever actually been to D.C, I mean actually stepped foot inside the district, or do I have more inside the beltway experience.
September 4th, 2008 at 9:37 am
JFK had speechwriters. Reagan had speechwriters. Clinton too. And Obama has speechwriters. And when Obama is without teleprompter, he is not very good.

September 4th, 2008 at 9:38 am
jonedewar, you’re impressed that she was able to read a speech that a team of speechwriters prepared for her?
Funny how that isn’t a valid argument against Obama.
September 4th, 2008 at 9:38 am
From the WSJ:
I also love how the Dems were making the Abraham Lincoln comparisons before the Palin pick. Now? Not so much.
September 4th, 2008 at 9:39 am
Exactly coop. I love how everyone is praising her for STEPPING UP TO THE PRESSURE and proving she can handle it by making a speech. She’s a governor for god’s sake. You think she is going to get on stage, stutter a few times then shit herself? My god. That doesn’t make her any more qualified than a dude who runs the toastmasters seminar down the street from my office.
September 4th, 2008 at 9:41 am
Here’s a good example of him when the teleprompter goes down.

September 4th, 2008 at 9:43 am
Or a first-term junior senator from Illinois.
Seriously, Palin’s lack of experience is fair game, but the drive-by comments from Obama supporters are funny. I have yet to hear how they justify Palin’s lack of experience. And saying it’s because he’s been running a campaign for 2 years is laughable. He hasn’t even done that very well.
September 4th, 2008 at 9:46 am
I’m not an Obama supporter either. I’m not a US political machine supporter. It’s all bullshit and is an insult to anyone with half a brain’s intelligence. It’s like a high school beauty contest complete with the snarky attacks and gossip.
September 4th, 2008 at 9:51 am
when will a president ever really speak w/out the use of a teleprompter? that criticism doesn’t really strike home w/me
September 4th, 2008 at 9:54 am
mmonast,
Nor should it. There’s criticism of Palin’s prepared, rehearsed speech. I was pointing out that everybody does it, even the great orator, Obama.
September 4th, 2008 at 9:55 am
Democrats seem to think the environment is an issue. You disagree?
September 4th, 2008 at 9:58 am
choosing palin is brilliant. every criticism of her lack of experience turns it right back on obama’s lack of experience.
September 4th, 2008 at 9:59 am
shawnfromtex,
You must not have heard, McCain is dying soon.
September 4th, 2008 at 9:59 am

The funny thing reading these comments is liberals acting like they EVER would have liked McCain’s choice for VP or EVER would have liked that person’s speech. Of course you hated it, you were supposed to, they aren’t looking for your vote.

September 4th, 2008 at 10:20 am
Here are all of my thoughts on this whole clusterfuck of an election:
Palin should run for president, this whole thing is turning into Plain vs. Obama. Palin is running for VP which to me is the mother vs. the president being the father figure of our country. As a real mother shes not doing hot. I cant think of an analogy for a 17 year old knocked up daughter.
September 4th, 2008 at 10:22 am
That’s really not fair. There were over 6 or 7 token minorities peppered throughout.
September 4th, 2008 at 10:23 am
And the camera focused on each one of them.
September 4th, 2008 at 10:24 am
Say what you want about Obama, but at least in his speech he outlined his views and plans for taxes, the economy, Iraq, the mortgage crisis, he even brough up abortion and gay marriage
