Jets and Saints Hold on, Rams Score a Field Goal
NFL September 7th. 2008, 4:19pm
I guess Chad Pennington’s arm wasn’t strong enough to throw the ball out of the end zone. The Jets intercepted Miami’s last gasp at a victory thanks to Darrelle Revis. Jim Nantz and Phil Simms enlightened viewers minutes earlier with the news that Ricky Williams visualizes making big receptions the night before games. Weed joke goes here.
In New Orleans, Scott Fujita intercepted a Jeff Garcia pass with less than a minute remaining and the Saints held off Tampa Bay 24-20.
On the individual front, Willie Parker scored three times and ran for 138 yards. He had just 2 TDs all last season. Thomas Jones had a 101 yards and a TD in Miami, equaling his TD total from a year ago. Michael Turner finished with 220 yards and two touchdowns in Atlanta.
So far the NFC West has been outscored 72-13.
Let’s keep it going, Frisco and Arizona. Maybe you each score in the negatives?
ps: Vince Young, Brody Croyle and Nate Burleson fell to injury.

Browns defense… still suspect.
September 7th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
Cowboys strike first! Browns better find a pass rush very soon or it will be a long day.
September 7th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
and Marion Barber is in!
my only afternoon bet was the Browns +6. not all that confident. more of action play than anything
September 7th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
It’d be awesome if Garrard could have gotten some protection like that
September 7th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
jeff are you the guy who wanted to bet me on the titans-jags?
i have forgotten who it was .. but that person was confident. too bad the jags couldn’t rush the ball for shit
September 7th, 2008 at 4:38 pm
I probably said something along those lines TBL, the offensive line was horrendous to start, and was only worse when they started getting hurt. They were down to 4 healthy linemen. Titans played well though, their D line looks for real but its hard to tell against 4 healthy linemen.
September 7th, 2008 at 4:40 pm
catch the f’ing ball, Braylon Edwards
geez
jeff – no excuses, man. jags will probably get em back at home
September 7th, 2008 at 4:40 pm
Braylon looked too much like TO with those alligator arms there.
September 7th, 2008 at 4:42 pm
that was a ugly drop by edwards, but thats not an excuse TBL its a fact, they had 7 healthy linemen coming in and 3 got hurt, they were one injury away from a TE lining up on the O-line, titans played well and took advantage, even when Garrard had protection he took entirely too long to throw the ball
September 7th, 2008 at 4:48 pm
Ravens Defense: Still the shit. 150 yds for the bungles and 1 total catch for Whosyourmamma and Ocho Shitto. If the Ravens recievers could actully catch it would have been 30-3
September 7th, 2008 at 4:54 pm
Prediction: Scott Linehan will be fired, in season.
I don’t know if the Eagles were that good or if the Rams were that bad.
If you have Bulger on your fantasy team and are depending on him in any meaningful way, do yourself a favor and find an alternative. He did not look very confident behind the Rams line and Pace got banged up during the game.
September 7th, 2008 at 4:54 pm
winslow soldiers into the end zone
7-7
September 7th, 2008 at 4:56 pm
I think they’ll have some previous AP copy to work with on this one
September 7th, 2008 at 4:56 pm
If you took Bulger, it was in the middle rounds and you don’t care too much. However, if you took Steven Jackson..
September 7th, 2008 at 4:58 pm
fuck the rams for not putting up a fight against the eagles. Now everyone in Philly will be screaming super bowl. Fuck the eagles too, btw.
September 7th, 2008 at 4:58 pm
i know it’s all about football – cards/9ers, baby! – but nadal is attempting to rally against murray over on cbs.
not familiar with murray’s game, but he’s playing very well. kid’s a wall. nadal for set point to draw within 2-1 …
September 7th, 2008 at 5:00 pm
Speaking of off topic, I wouldn’t trust the Twins bullpen to wash my car, much less pitch in the late innings of a close game.
Andy Murray is my pick for next player to win a grand slam on home soil.
September 7th, 2008 at 5:02 pm
nadal finally takes it, down 2sets to 1
September 7th, 2008 at 5:03 pm
panthers are manhandling the chargers d-line, but only lead 3-0.
September 7th, 2008 at 5:03 pm

September 7th, 2008 at 5:06 pm
Browns fans chant “asshole” at Terrell Owens.
They will all now be ejected.
September 7th, 2008 at 5:06 pm
good god the cowboys are good.. romo has 18 seconds to throw on every play, and terrell owens looks just as good as he did 4 years ago.. TBL’s super bowl pick looking good!
September 7th, 2008 at 5:09 pm
Don’t know why my earlier comment hasn’t been posted but you gotta love the Browns “matador” defense against TO.
September 7th, 2008 at 5:11 pm
I cannot handle one more viewing of the Microsoft/Jerry Seinfeld commercial.
September 7th, 2008 at 5:12 pm

September 7th, 2008 at 5:22 pm
break point No. 7?
nadal ace.
terrific stuff
September 7th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
The Browns defense is garbage. It may end up being the worst in the league.
September 7th, 2008 at 5:25 pm
Wow Murray is good. It’s too bad this is on opposite NFL cause this is incredible tennis. More people should be watching this. Not to mention we get the sweet sweet pipes of Dick Enberg.
September 7th, 2008 at 5:25 pm
He has hands?
September 7th, 2008 at 5:27 pm
ahhhh marion barber with a sick move and then neat dive
September 7th, 2008 at 5:28 pm
nadal breaks him … murray choking?
September 7th, 2008 at 5:37 pm
Romo and TO fantasy owners pissed that the officials didn’t give a TD there, while Barbarian owners are in heaven. Gotta love fantasy football.
/still pissed that I have none of these guys on my team
September 7th, 2008 at 5:39 pm
i like TO’s sprinter pose celebration.
September 7th, 2008 at 5:42 pm
I’m surprised Lebron wasn’t wearing a TO jersey pregame.
September 7th, 2008 at 5:43 pm
I don’t wanna jinx it, but it looks like Nadal is choking now.
September 7th, 2008 at 5:46 pm
i think murray could have him. 4-3 lead
September 7th, 2008 at 5:47 pm
yes, me thrilled
September 7th, 2008 at 5:49 pm
Well they’re still on serve TBL, and I like Nadal in a tiebreak.
September 7th, 2008 at 5:55 pm
Shaun Rogers deserves to have his own zip code. Geez, is he huge……
September 7th, 2008 at 5:57 pm
Rogers and Leonard Davis were roommates at Texas. Imagine the food bill.
September 7th, 2008 at 6:00 pm
murray is two points away from victory
September 7th, 2008 at 6:03 pm
nadal has to work so hard on every point
murray is just playing incredible

September 7th, 2008 at 6:03 pm

September 7th, 2008 at 6:03 pm

September 7th, 2008 at 6:04 pm

September 7th, 2008 at 6:12 pm
So Federer’s getting a major this year after all…great match by Murray, but Federer will eat him up tomorrow.
September 7th, 2008 at 6:24 pm
The Ken Dorsey chants begin at Browns stadium. Felix Jones is a TD waiting to happen on any play.
