ESPN Replacing Rick Sutcliffe in the Postseason?
Baseball, ESPN, Media Gossip/Musings September 11th. 2008, 2:00pm
Clearly, ESPN baseball analyst Rick Sutcliffe never got the “chill out with incessant Erin Andrews stuff” memo: He was at it again last night, says a reader who sat through most of Boston’s 14-inning loss to Tampa. Thankfully, it wasn’t over-the-top like that time in Chicago, but what’s the deal with calling her “our girl” and wondering what college football game “our girl” would be covering this weekend?
At any rate, we hear Sutcliffe won’t be calling MLB postesason games for ESPN radio, and the network is in the midst of seeking a replacement. According to a source, ESPN is saying the need to replace Sutcliffe is “health-related” (he underwent chemotherapy for colon cancer in the spring) but the conspiracy theorist in us wonders if that’s just a cover-up for all the bad press he’s earned the network this year. It wouldn’t be the first time ESPN has reprimanded the former Cy Young award winner.

Has anyone (TBL) emailed ESPN or someone there to find out if they had any issues with a hand job getting put on live TV and then having Bob Davie circle it?

Calling a game right is more important than coming back from cancer.

Seriously, colon cancer is a bitch. If they do replace him, I hope it’s not due to health reasons.

He had fucking cancer give him a break. Hes pissed because EA wouldnt give him some ass. Hes all like you ever fuck a Cy young winner and when she said CC Sabathia, hes had it out for her ever since. Just my theory.

The cancer is a bitch, but Sutcliffe is awful.

Don’t give me the cancer excuse..I am happy he isn’t dead..it doesn’t give him a free pass to suck at his job…

10 bucks on Rick Reilly getting the call.

After that All-star game performance no chance. So he can talk about the lack of Jews in baseball or the surplus of Puerto Ricans.

Seriously… the cameraman knew that was going on. I’m all for lewd, but that was a bit beyond the pale…

Bob Davie was in a circle jerk? Was Lou Holtz involved? What about Golic?
September 11th, 2008 at 2:45 pm
Golic would only join in if Brady Quinn was involved.

Great stuff, Jimmy +1
And why is the 2-minute drill always like 8 minutes of trash? I don’t even know if ‘trash’ is an accurate description of Berman and his work.
