Odd: Colorado sophomore WR Josh Smith is the uncle of freshman RB Darrell Scott. Weirder: They played on the same team in high school. According to the Rocky Mountain News, Smith’s sister is Scott’s mother. Scott, you may recall, was the top-ranked prep RB in the country last year, and the Buffs (and presumably his Uncle), stole him away from Texas when the Longhorns hired former UT QB Major Applewhite to be the team’s running backs coach. (USC’s Mark Sanchez attempted to make a last-ditch effort for the Trojans via text, but to no avail.)

We find this uncle-newphew combo extremely compelling, and thus we will be rooting for the Buffs Thursday night at home against WVU. The line recently kicked up to three, and taking into account the first night game at the school in 18 years (can you imagine the partying?), plus two weeks off for Dan “Intramurals” Hawkins to prep for Pat White, and we’ll be on Colorado.
