Detroit’s Bats Pining for the Offseason
Baseball, Television September 29th. 2008, 6:00pm
That’s how it seems, anyhow. Chicago’s up 1-0 and the Tigers have only been able to muster one stinkin’ hit off Gavin Floyd through four innings. We got bored and switched over to 90210 … Dylan just cheated on Brenda with her best friend Kelly while she was in Paris for the summer! Ohhhhhhh! And if you have Universal HD, they’re showing the first season of Friday Night Lights – the second episode, we think. Riggins is more brooding than ever, and Tyra hooks up with Smash.
Ed. Typed too soon: Brandon Inge RBI double in the 5th, tied 1-1.
Ed. Wow. Ramirez (Alexei) just drilled a grand slam to left. 6-2 White Sox.

Go White Sox, it’s an absolute joke that in Chicago the White Sox get no love. 80% of the people have supported a team that has lost for 100 straight years and absolutely suck. People just like going and getting hammered in Wrigleyville, not caring what is going on on the field. The city of Chicago should be glad they have 2 teams in post season contention, and embrace the successful seasons both teams have had. Look at New York….

Alexei Ramirez is awesome.

Fuck Longoria…Alexei is the rookie of the year.
And Gavin Floyd shoved it up a whole bunch of people’s asses this year.

P.S. Sox still lose to the effing Twinks tomorrow.

Possibly but their playoff game was probably the most important in terms of who won the coin flip…while everyone made a big deal about the Sox being 1-8 in the TrashDome this season the Twins were just 2-7 in Chicago
Game on…John Danks is supposed to be the more composed of the two young pitchers and Gavin Floyd pitched well enough tonight so it’s on him tomorrow

Hey, just noticed that with the loss the Tigers are alone in last place…congrats to the 4th place Kansas City Royals!

Danks is the more composed of the two, but he is absolutely gassed. For the past month, it’s been a struggle for him to keep the ball low; in his last start, he left an ungodly number of pitches up high. I was confident in Floyd this game, as he has seemingly shaken that head-case label, but am terrified of Danks tomorrow. If he can give the Sox something like 5 innings and 2 runs I would be overjoyed

IMO, Danks is the better prospect going forward…but as Jeeves said he is gassed right now. IIRC, tomorrow will be his 3rd straight start on 3 days rest….Ozzie really screwed the pooch by not giving Broadway or Richard a spot start.

This is true…I thought the same thing about Floyd a few weeks ago but he got a second wind in September so maybe things will work out
Supposed to be cold and windy tomorrow night which should help the pitching…there been any recent word about Carlos Quentin?

What else would you expect from “16-win” Floyd.
September 30th, 2008 at 9:16 am
TSH-Hes now “17-win” Floyd.
September 30th, 2008 at 9:24 am
That too flows off the tongue like a Dr. J finger roll.

I heard he wanted “Pretty boy” Floyd. Mayweather was not having it.
