Bizarre. Al Davis should have been forced out the moment he traded coach Jon Gruden to the Bucs in 2001 after Oakland lost the “Tuck Rule” game to the Patriots in the snow. You know how that worked out - Oakland hasn’t had a winning season since 2002, and newly-promoted o-line coach Tom Cable is the team’s fifth coach since. (Gruden, meanwhile, has been to the playoffs three times in six years in Tampa, and memorably defeated the Raiders in the Super Bowl.)

Here is Lane Kiffin’s response, best summed up as “bewildered.” Too bad he didn’t address the “Chris Mortensen is a liar” comment.
