Buckle Up This Weekend Kids
Baseball, College Football, NFL October 3rd. 2008, 6:00pm
That’ll be all for us this week, people. We’ve carved out a nice space on the sofa for watching insane amounts of sports this weekend. In addition to postseason baseball (White Sox/Rays and Red Sox/Angels tonight), there’s also the return of Kimbo Slice (CRM will be live-blogging the cauliflowered ear madness) Saturday night, unbeaten and untested Texas traveling to Colorado, and Redskins-Eagles Sunday.
Party like the Caps, and go get yourself a beauty pageant winner like Michael Phelps. Or, laugh at this Sam Cassell photo.

October 3rd, 2008 at 6:26 pm
Gina Carano tomorrow night!
October 3rd, 2008 at 6:29 pm
1. I love HR, but I don’t think Kazmir hit Cabrera on purpose.
2. To only get 2 there is not very good for the White Sox.
3. I’m a world class retard for studying and doing hw tonight rather than going out and getting trashed.
October 3rd, 2008 at 6:29 pm
yeah, but at least hes pushing 40 pitches after one now
October 3rd, 2008 at 6:46 pm
Please tell me these fans aren’t going to start booing.
October 3rd, 2008 at 6:48 pm
its their right to be frustrated after a decade of ignoring the team
October 3rd, 2008 at 6:57 pm
No offense to mole (but tons of offense to the White Sox), the Rays are bad against lefties so Buehrle must really suck balls.
October 3rd, 2008 at 7:05 pm
Anyone want in a free fantasy hockey league? My brothers convinced me to play and we need 3 more. thanks.
October 3rd, 2008 at 7:06 pm
Again with the cowbells…I guess when you have a bullshit “fanbase” they need aids in order to make noise?
October 3rd, 2008 at 7:13 pm
Fetch, you shouldn’t say retard.
/very serious
October 3rd, 2008 at 7:17 pm
rick is it a livedraft?
October 3rd, 2008 at 7:18 pm
mole - yeah, cbs free league. All my brothers played hockey in college. I will likely suck.
October 3rd, 2008 at 7:19 pm
shit id be down, i missed my yahoo draft and while i like my team i would like to have one that i control the lineup of (read: sucks and is loaded with pens third liners)
October 3rd, 2008 at 7:25 pm
“Charlie there’s a dickhole in the bar I need you to come fill it in.”
October 3rd, 2008 at 7:26 pm
mole - private league named Dusters and Benders, codeword pizza1. 12 team league.
October 3rd, 2008 at 7:28 pm
draft during the pens game tomorrow weak! oh well, ill be on the couch watching anyways so why not
October 3rd, 2008 at 7:29 pm
alright im in, thanks
October 3rd, 2008 at 8:29 pm
no problem, if you know anyone else that wants in let them know. We gotta fill that last slot. best of luck.
October 3rd, 2008 at 8:43 pm
im sorry none of those were strikes
October 3rd, 2008 at 8:58 pm
Fucking Sox. Its ok though we have danks and Floyd going in Chicago and we are capable of winning 3 straight.
October 3rd, 2008 at 9:19 pm
Can I dream the dream that the White Sox and Cubs will go a combined 0-6 in these Playoffs???
That would be awesome. No New York teams and Chicago going oh-for. Two more losses needed.
October 3rd, 2008 at 9:21 pm
Buehrle pitched his ass off but this offense didn’t take advantage early like they should have
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the Sox won both in Chicago since the Rays won’t get those bullshit turf hits that they thrive on but I don’t know who starts a Game 5 so I think they’re done
October 3rd, 2008 at 9:45 pm
three words …. black. jack. mcdowell.
October 3rd, 2008 at 9:46 pm
well at least the angels came out ready to play
October 3rd, 2008 at 9:48 pm
well espn gets its wish with an all AL east alcs. goddamnit.
October 3rd, 2008 at 9:49 pm
is there any way the angels can afford both texiera and cc?
October 3rd, 2008 at 9:54 pm
yes.
October 3rd, 2008 at 9:58 pm
think theyll splash out all that cash though? whats vlads contract looking like, one more year left?
October 3rd, 2008 at 10:08 pm
Javier Vazquez is scheduled to pitch game 5.
October 3rd, 2008 at 10:15 pm
Vlad has a one year option for 13 mil, I think they’ll exercise it but I really have no idea. I don’t think they’ll try to sign both of them, but they definitely have the money to. Well all teams do really, but I think the Angels have more willingness to spend that type of money than most teams. I think they could get a “discount” for CC seeing as he wants to go to California, but if I could only have one, I’d take Teixiera.
That was a RWH length comment
October 3rd, 2008 at 10:28 pm
if it gets there, i think you have to pitch marky mark on short rest after the egg javy laid. pray to god for a rainout over the weekend.
October 3rd, 2008 at 10:37 pm
Like the way you think Moleman
October 3rd, 2008 at 10:39 pm
I hate to always bring up farm systems and stuff, but if the White Sox don’t do it this year, it’s gonna be awhile. Kenny Williams’ biggest strength as a GM is he knows how to go for it, but he’s a pretty bad drafter and pretty bad at building up a farm system. Obviously the scouting and farm directors share blame in that but they’re in pretty bad shape.
October 3rd, 2008 at 10:47 pm
alot of their bats are quite old and the back end of the rotation is a mess …… so yeah
October 3rd, 2008 at 10:57 pm
And their offense is gonna take a hit when either Wise or Anderson plays everyday, plus when Cabrera leaves their defense is going to be worse. Chris Getz is a nice player, but he’s no stud.
Oh and in reference to the picture…no, extra-terrestrial creature, yes.
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:14 pm
bo i thought you were a rays fan?
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:17 pm
Hell no Chi sox baby! I like the Marlins more than the Rays.
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:24 pm
like the way you think lol
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:29 pm
COrtes thats why I read your Blog Im down with the Marlins.
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:37 pm
yeah the farm system is pretty bare at the moment. the future isnt exactly so bright i would need to wear sunglasses.
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:38 pm
Mole- If we had a healthy Crede we would be in better shape Kenny Williams is gonna make some moves Im not worried.
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:39 pm
Apparently the Twins are interested in signing Orlando Cabrera. That’s the worst news I’ve heard all day.
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:40 pm
whats a healthy crede?
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:42 pm
Fetch I wish that on you I hate him hes a cock.
Mole-I guess a 05′ Crede
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:47 pm
TB- Bill Smith has been an awful GM so far, but I don’t think even he can be that dumb.
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:50 pm
I want Morneu, Ill give you KOnerko and Cabrea. Deal?
October 3rd, 2008 at 11:56 pm
haha, there isn’t a player on the White Sox or in their farm system I would take for Morneau. There probably isn’t even a combination of two players. MAYBE Danks and Poreda. But probably not.
October 4th, 2008 at 12:01 am
Danks cant go It makes me sick how much money we pay Contreas
October 4th, 2008 at 12:01 am
fetch, what do you think of the marlins trading something like uggla/olsen for howie kendrick and prospects? yay or nay?
October 4th, 2008 at 12:03 am
why would you want HOwie Kendrick? Hes sucks you can do better than that.
October 4th, 2008 at 12:07 am
I love Howie Kendrick, but I’ll admit there isn’t a lot in his numbers to suggest why I would love him. But he has tons of potential if he could ever stay healthy.
I don;t think the Fish would do that cause they have Chris Coghlan coming up. If they trade Uggla I think it should be an SS and move Hanley to the outfield. I don’t know what SS would be comparable to Uggla though. I do know that I kind of want the Twins to trade for JJ Hardy, but I think Uggla could get someone better than him back to be honest.
October 4th, 2008 at 12:08 am
im with bo. i dont like kendrick, or that trade very much.. its just what i’ve been hearing from a few different circles so i wanted to know what every1 else thought before i bashed my boy beinfest
October 4th, 2008 at 12:10 am
Didnt they just sign wes helms for 2 years today? They might move Cantu.
October 4th, 2008 at 12:11 am
What prospects would they be getting back, Cortes?
October 4th, 2008 at 12:18 am
haven’t heard names on the prospects, though that is important.. beinfest doesn’t miss on those.. my guess would be they flip jacobs for sure, and call up gaby sanchez (from the U) to play first base (at least he wont give you a 250 OBP like jake) and go at from there… the thing is, they have tons of players they want up. coughlin is an option at 2nd, so is dominguez at 3rd and stanton/morrison in the corner OF spots/1B.. which makes me think beinfest would trade any of the infielders sans hanley if the right deal came along
October 4th, 2008 at 12:20 am
Dominguez won’t be up anytime soon dude, he was a HS draftee last year.
I don’t really know a ton of the Angels’ prospects, unless they traded Adenhart. Hank Conger maybe?
October 4th, 2008 at 12:22 am
Jacobs can get flipped his stats improve every year. Cant think who would want him though.
October 4th, 2008 at 12:36 am
Someone else needs to comment so I can have more distraction during my hw.
October 4th, 2008 at 12:45 am
Do your Homework son.
October 4th, 2008 at 1:12 am
Watching Angels-Sox, by any chance? Drew just murdered a 87-MPH Nothingball from K-Rod to put the Sox up 7-5 in the 9th.
October 4th, 2008 at 1:15 am
Late to the party, turns out the sports bar by my house is kinda lame. It’s more fun here.
October 4th, 2008 at 1:20 am
That actually was the first batter I watched in about an hour. Hopefully the money I laid on them to win the WS will pay off for me.
October 4th, 2008 at 2:11 am
OJ found guilty. 13 years too late, but still guilty. I’m a Bill’s fan, but I still hope he gets butt-fucked every day.
October 4th, 2008 at 9:39 am
Da Dodgers, Da Dodgers, Da Dodgers.
