Texas Cheerleaders Stage Mock Execution!
Cheerleaders October 8th. 2008, 9:45am
At a Nacogdoches high school pep rally in Texas last month, cheerleaders thought it’d be funny to come up with a skit where they “kidnap” their rivals, ask them to get on their knees and “pretend” to execute them (gun shots from Paper Planes went off in the background). Then, the girls tossed money in the air! Blame it on that darn rap music! See video of the skit here.
[Aside: When you try to say Nacogdoches, don't you think of that line in Office Space where the Bobs try to pronounce Samir's last name and they go, 'Samir Naga ... Naga ... ah, Not gonna work here anymore!' and then erupt in laughter?]
Naturally, a parent complained, a petition was circulated, the principal yanked an editorial about the incident from the school paper, and we’ve got a crisis in Texas. This seems right in the FNL wheelhouse, although church-going Lyla Garrity could never pull the trigger.

I can’t wait for next week’s “Mock Drawing and Quartering” of their opponent’s mascot. Nothing like some bull screaming “FREEEEEEEEEDOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!!!!”

Having to talk to high schoolers on a weekly basis for one of my jobs I can attest that many of them are not very bright and those that are would probably go along with something like this if it made them more popular.

The choreography was impressive.

At least they’re trying to entertain the students at the pep rally. And in regards to your aside; no, never. But I live in Texas, so maybe it’s different for me.

Those schools were in my high school district. I don’t blame them – I always hated Lufkin too.

Maggs do you tell them they are all going to have AIDS and die? and by Jobs do you mean community service?

Edit – Apparently the districts have changed in East Texas. That’s not Lufkin cheerleaders being fake murdered after all…dang.

It only stands to reason that the morons are bigger in Texas too.

Rivalries are serious in Texas. I’ve heard stories from my small town where live mascots were killed and such back in the ’90s. I think this is nothing to get upset about, but I always prefer funny over violent. A few weeks ago in the DFW during a game two students dressed as a gorilla and a banana, and the banana chased the gorilla across the field. That was classic, and non-violent. The banana was arrested, both were suspended from school.

You go down on your mom with a mouth like that?
October 8th, 2008 at 12:29 pm
I’m disappointed that this wouldn’t go over more smoothly in Texas… You’ve gotta love the creativity – a hell of a lot more entertaining than pep rallies when I was in high school.

Further proof that government education works like a Swiss watch.

Oh so clever Zeke…are you one of the Texas morons?
October 8th, 2008 at 5:10 pm
Not a moron, but yes I’m from Texas… oh yeah… the Yankees suck, accept it, so now you can spend less time fantasizing about them spend more time during the off-season wining and dining your boyfriend. Weak ass.

More great intelligent stuff there Zeke. I can’t help it if you raised this biggest moron of them all, Dubya.

That haymaker you just went for missed it’s mark. I am a democrat, so your not gonna hurt my feelings with a shot at Bush.
