Thanks to ESPN, Kimbo’s Fight Being Investigated
1-liner, ESPN, MMA October 10th. 2008, 10:30amWas the fix in?: Who says ESPN doesn’t care about MMA? Some nice scoopage from Franklin McNeil: “While the Department of Business and Professional Regulation doesn’t have any reason to believe there was a problem with the Slice-Petruzelli fight, given the interest in it, the Department has begun a preliminary investigation to thoroughly review the circumstances of the fight.” This could get fun. I know next to nothing about MMA other than what CRM posts and I glance over looking for dick jokes. I’ve seen that video a half a dozen times and Slice is either Glass Jaw Joe or he took a dive. And I can’t think of one reason how taking a dive would benefit him.
Does Vegas post MMA fights? If so, what were the odds on this fight?

That shit was fixed You know it, I know it, and Cores knows it. Seriously the way he went down was so fake.

I like how the story goes from this:
“The promoters kind of hinted to me and they gave me the money to stand and trade with him,” Petruzelli said on “The Monsters in Orlando” show. “They didn’t want me to take him down, let’s just put it that way. It was worth my while to try to stand up and punch with him.”
To this:
“While the Department of Business and Professional Regulation doesn’t have any reason to believe there was a problem with the Slice-Petruzelli fight, given the interest in it, the Department has begun a preliminary investigation to thoroughly review the circumstances of the fight,” said Jennifer Meale, Communications Director for the DBPR.
The department doesn’t have any reason to believe there was a problem? Um, didn’t you just read the previous paragraph?

They do post MMA odds, but I don’t know if they posted any for this fight since they announced the switch for Shamrock so late.

Speaking betting. Am I crazy for thinking about putting money on the Lions this weekend? They’re 13 point dogs against the Vikings…

Vegas does post odds, but this fight couldn’t have been on the board for more than…4 hours? It was Kimbo-Shamrock until 3 hours before the fight.

Hawkeye, Kitna is sitting i believe. i smell a blowout there. i could see the temptation though with that huge spread.

Also, he got hit on the chin and fell on his face. It’s clear he got hit. Same way (different angle) Rampage knocked out Liddell.

HawkEye, don’t do it. Their defense is amongst the worst I’ve ever seen. They decided to stop Forte last week, which allowed Kyle Orton to throw for over 300 yards. I put his name in bold in case you forgot who the Bears QB is. It’s Kyle Freaking Orton. 300 yards for Neckbeard. Yeah don’t do it.
Freaking Kyle Orton. Orton Freaking Kyle.

The Lions are the suckiest bunch of sucks whoever sucked, but it’s the Vikings offense. After the Purple Jesus, we’re looking at Gus Ferrotte and Bernard Berrian…
October 10th, 2008 at 10:52 am
After Forte, we’re looking at Neckbeard and Brandon Lloyd’s backup…

How does Kimbo Slice taking a dive help EliteXC? Or Kimbo Slice? Or MMA?
The opponent they trotted out was meant to be easy. He lost.
Besides, unless there was betting involved, I can’t see how the government justifies an investigation.

It doesn’t help anyone! That’s the genius part! Have you ever seen Snake Eyes? Nic Cage holds all the answers!

The investigation is into this: “They didn’t want me to take him down, let’s just put it that way.” Not into whether or not Kimbo Slice took a dive.

This just furthers my theory that MMA is nothing but pro wrestling without the ladder matches…
