How is that a clean hit?

Between this and the Marv Albert one-liner, TBL is bein’ quite the horndog today. Well done, sir.

“Facial-related”
TBL just threw a big ‘ol milkbone to the dogs.

After reading the title I was severely dissapointed.

Best Screamin A quote ever

the fact that he led with his helmet was dirty, but to insinuate he is dirty because he came in from the side when rivers wasnt looking is fucking ridiculous. are you only allowed to hit someone if they are looking at you? maybe he got hurt because hes a rookie and was lolligagging towards the ballcarrier and didnt have his head in the play. the last i heard the penalty is ‘block in the back’ not ‘block in the side’.
ward is one of the best blocking wideouts to ever play the game, and he is tough as hell in both play and durability. black sports can eat my shit.

As in the only good Screamin’ A. quote ever? Wow, I hate that man.
October 20th, 2008 at 4:22 pm
wow
yeah the term ‘expert’ should not be applied to that wrtier
October 20th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
the fact that he led with his helmet was dirty
That voids everything you just said to defend him.
October 20th, 2008 at 4:26 pm
he doesnt need me to defend him, he has fourteen billion asians to do that
it wasnt clean but to suggest it was dirty because he hit from the side when rivers wasnt looking at him is insane. its not like rivers wasnt involved in the play, he was within striking distance. blacksports seems to suggest it would be okay as long as he ‘took him out’ from the front
October 20th, 2008 at 4:27 pm
um…hines ward IS dirty tho, no one’s refuting that right?
October 20th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
he has to be the most infuriating player to go up against. he’ll take you out and just smile like a fucking cheshire cat.
October 20th, 2008 at 4:30 pm
I’ll confirm that shit. Ward is a fucking douche and a huge dirty player to boot. I always pray for Ed Reed to decapitate him whenever he comes across the middle.
October 20th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
fucking cheshire cat
Someone tripped out and watched Alice In Wonderland this weekend.
October 20th, 2008 at 4:37 pm
i wish
man its really hard to tell what hit rivers. hines’ head doesnt really move like you would think it would if he cracked another helmet. gotta be another angle to see if it was the shoulder or not.
October 20th, 2008 at 4:40 pm
Sorry to interrupt the Hines Ward love fest, but how exactly was that dunk “on” Bosh? He was coming from the side and behind, basically just put his arm up to show some effort. Farmar can sky for a little dude, yes, but that was no facial.
October 20th, 2008 at 4:44 pm
If you look at that replay, he tucks his head, but hits him square with his shoulder. I have no bias for or against ward, just merely pointing out what I saw. Looks like a clean hit to me!
October 20th, 2008 at 4:45 pm
i dont think there was any other angle of it during the game, not that i remember. but if he hit with his helmet, dirty. if not, thats a textbook block on someone who wasnt paying attention and sadly paid the price.
October 20th, 2008 at 4:47 pm
are you sure ward got him with his helmet? looked clean to me
October 20th, 2008 at 4:49 pm
TBL-He lead with his helmet.
October 20th, 2008 at 4:49 pm
it almost looks like hines’ shoulder caught rivers’ shoulder and hit his own jaw.
they showed him on the sideline with a bunch of blood gauze in his mouth and i thought hed bit off his tongue
October 20th, 2008 at 4:58 pm
That was dirty he lead with his helmet. He should be fined and suspended a game. If it was Keith Rivers hitting Hines Ward there would have been a penalty called on the play.
October 20th, 2008 at 5:23 pm
totally legal, looks like shoulder hit the helmet, and hines ward got his helmet in front of rivers, therefore its not a block in the back. To me thats a perfectly executed crack back block, and the type of tape you show aspiring football players. If you’re a OLB chasing down the ballcarrier on an outside run you have to be looking for the crack back, and its blocks like that that make outside running that little but more effective and can lead to big plays
October 20th, 2008 at 5:30 pm
I got zero love for the Steelers and Hines Ward and I thought that hit was completely legal. Ward looked to me like he got him with the shoulder….the angle shown makes it look like he led with his helmet, but I believe if you look again, you’ll see Ward drove his shoulder into Rivers.
If Ward had truly made impact leading with his own head on that play, I would think Ward would have gotten hurt as well, considering the rate of speed he was travelling before colliding with Rivers.
October 20th, 2008 at 6:01 pm
That was the most far-from facial dunk in the history of “facials.”
October 20th, 2008 at 7:35 pm
I’d buy that as a “part of the game” hit if Ward wasn’t known for things like this. He’s too good of a blocker to be headhunting. This is three times in one season.
