Favre Admits to Talking to the Lions
1-liner, Media Gossip/Musings, NFL October 22nd. 2008, 1:45pmFavre: In his press conference today, Brett Favre admitted to talking to the Lions and former GM Matt Millen, just as Fox’s Jay Glazer reported over the weekend. However, Favre said the chatter was innocent – the two talked about about hunting, and the football stuff was “pretty basic information,” most of it regarding last year’s games against the Lions. Favre also said that Millen called him, not the other way around. What’s the guess here? Lions’ front-office types embellished the story to Glazer, or Favre was still bent about how his Green Bay tenure ended, and offered up secrets? ESPN.com is now covering the story.

I wish Favre had given Mangini some “pretty basic information” on the Raiders.

You’re single handedly spreading this bullshit across the blogosphere and have now infected major news outlets. There is no evidence that Brett Favre is anything but a great guy who would never do anything wrong. Why can’t you just leave Favre alone like he so wants us to? Like when he leaves his teams hanging all summer while he plays “just the tip” with Chris Mortenson every years since 2003.
/Is it 4:20 yet?

given rod marinelli’s continued “no comment” stance, i’m guessing favre is spinning.

Favre: I can piss this far.
Fox: Well, I think you can piss that far.
ESPN: I didn’t want to mention you guys pissing over there, but since everybody else is talking about it, I guess I’ll look bad if I keep ignoring it.

ESPN says they didnt report it at first because they had confirmed it wasn’t true. Then why wouldnt they report something like “ESPN sources deny Foxsports report of..” I mean they just plain pretended it didn’t exist. Now they have a story up saying “Favre denies blah blah blah”. What the heck has changed? ESPN looks reallllllly bad today..

I think it was more along the lines of two big morons discussing huntin’ n’ fishin’ n’ beer n’ ‘merica.

Maybe I should have added a “B-B-B” before Bretty. Joke ruined.

If the Pats were playing the Packers… and Brett talked to Belichick… ESPN would have imploded.

I always knew Brett Favre was a royal prick, I just want Packer fans to face the truth.

@TBL — i’ve been there a couple times today…weird considering a new AP poll just released has them in a virtual tie
October 22nd, 2008 at 2:11 pm
In the last 24 hours I have heard polls saying it is a virtual tie, that Obama’s ahead by 4, by 8, and by 10. I hate polls.

the AP is to McCain as MSNBC is to Obama. Polls with likely voters are dubious since they use the same models from 2004 to gauge whether someone is likely to vote.

with drudge’s style sometimes it almost seems like it’s more satire rather than praising barry… some of the pictures he puts up seem to be taking jabs at dems rather than agreeing with their headlines.

I liked Favre on the Falcons.
