Your 2008-2009 NBA Predictions Go Here
NBA October 27th. 2008, 1:45pm
Predictions should be made like toasts: Brief, yet memorable. So take your time, take a few chances, and if anyone is able to correctly nail all five of these, we’ll buy you two tickets to an NBA game in your market the following season. All you need to do is remember this post, write your picks down somewhere, and stick with this blog for another year. Not too much to ask, right?
1. Who reaches the NBA Finals.
2. Who wins the title.
3. Team with the worst record in the league.
4. League MVP.
5. Rookie of the Year.
Our predictions after the jump.
1. Cleveland Cavaliers vs. LA Lakers
2. Los Angeles Lakers
3. Memphis Grizzlies (don’t expect anyone to guess their win total, but we’ll go with 19)
4. LeBron James, Cleveland
5. Greg Oden, Portland
Much more on the NBA tomororw, and beginning Tuesday, we start in with the college hoops “previews.”

schnitzengiggles – what are your thoughts on the Warriors? Baron Davis bailing over the summer was a killer. I hope Nelson finally plays Belinelli, aside from garbage time.

Honestly, I’m not expecting much this year. With all the turmoil, with Baron leaving, Montas injury, and Mullins contract situation, it really has our hopes tempered this year. I really do think Randolph is going to be a baller. (any SEC hoops guys want to give me some more background info on him?) I guess it all depends on when Monta comes back and how effective he is. (and I think he will be very effective, its an ankle, not a knee) Right now I think they’ll be right around .500 and miss the play-offs. As far as Belinelli, hes very streaky and I dont think Don Nelson trusts him in anything other than garbage time. But he will definitely see a bump in minutes while Monta is out.

League ROY: Michael Beasley
October 27th, 2008 at 3:15 pm
do all of you really think beasley will be a successful NBA player?
October 27th, 2008 at 3:21 pm
Beasley will be successful right out of the gate, because:
a. the team is built to get him the ball often, and he’s the most NBA scoring-ready rookie out there
b. they will play high-energy ball under coach whatsisname
and
c. Darell Arthur rolls a mean fattie.
October 27th, 2008 at 3:23 pm
1. Lakers v Cavs
2. Cavs
3. OK city

October 27th, 2008 at 3:38 pm
There isn’t a doubt in my mind that he will be.
really? i mean i don’ have anything bad to say against the guy, i’m just not 100% sold. they do have him listed as a 3, is that really where he is going to play?
October 27th, 2008 at 3:40 pm

3. bobcats
4. dirk
5. oden
October 27th, 2008 at 3:50 pm
@irish: because he went to OSU.
/sorry sarcasm.
//seriously, i think oden will be the best overall rookie beacuse he’s probably going to make the biggest rookie impact on a team that is already on the up and up. i think he can be the player to put the Jailblazers over the top and make the playoffs. without him i don’t see that happening. i think he has more players to feed off.
