ESPN Tells Bill Simmons He’s Not Allowed to Have a Porn Star in his Fantasy Basketball League
Bill Simmons, ESPN, Fantasy Sports October 28th. 2008, 9:00am
Has Bill Simmons forgotten that he works at Disney? In his inexorable quest to be edgy, Simmons tried to slide one past the Mouse sensors: He nearly had a male adult film star (his blog is NSFW and shows him banging chicks; these two two girls are from his blog) participate in his fantasy basketball league:
Oh and finally, Bill Simmons, the Sports Guy, sent me an email tonight. He basically apologized for the fact that due to the graphic and adult content on this blogsite, that ESPN wouldn’t let him and Matthew Berry let me into the league. He also said that ESPN chopped off the part where he stated this fact on his podcast yesterday.
That wily Simmons. Wonder if he’s having fun trying to sneak stuff like this into his podcast, or if it is thrilling for the few minutes/hours that it is posted … and then frustrating when it gets yanked. We’re going to lean toward “immense fun” because A) Even though he’s not getting Reilly money, he’s getting paid, and B) There seems to be nothing he can do to get fired.

And I thought we lived in America.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:04 am
the lady on the left looks to be about two roofies in.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:05 am
You gotta let’em play. This America, man.

Fire him
October 28th, 2008 at 9:08 am
Left one looks like the chick on Intervention last night that was addicted to huffing Dust Off. Gully. On the right? Splendid.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:10 am
Which is the porn star: J-bug or Sully?
October 28th, 2008 at 9:13 am
The guy whose blog is linked: a guy named Christian.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:15 am
How much porn is Simmons watching if he’s inviting a dude to play in his league?
And, yeah, the chick on the left is about 3/4 of the way through an 8 ball in that pic.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:17 am
funny stuff
October 28th, 2008 at 9:18 am
In Simmons’ defense, this dude’s blog is hilarious. You should read through the archive TBL, you’d probably like it. The guy’s a trainwreck. I started reading it after hearing Simmons talk about it on his podcast a couple weeks back.
BTW, read this somewhere this morning concerning the Colts and the truth of it really stung: “the season is far from over, but the torch has been passed…and it burns.”
October 28th, 2008 at 9:18 am
I am thinking Simmons invited a buddy and as it turns out the dude is a bit on the “Tucker Max” side… I don’t think Simmons would seek out a gutter dweller and ask him to take part just to piss off the suits.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:19 am
She looks too sedated to have done an 8-ball. I gotta agree with Maggs and say that girl huffs paint.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:20 am
bsanders – the font is so damn small. my vision is bad enough – but i did read some of it today. problem is, the pictures of hot naked women getting banged is slightly distracting.
im impressed/surprised you listened to a simmons podcast. do many people do this?
October 28th, 2008 at 9:21 am
what’s wrong with huffing paint? jesus, so a guy likes to smoke a little grass, sip a little ripple, challenge the governor’s son to a gentleman’s duel…
October 28th, 2008 at 9:22 am
Do many people listen to any podcast? Sounds like something a nerd would do.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:23 am
The podcasts are really good TBL. Even when he talks to his boy John about Yanks/Sox.
Anyone know who the chick on the right is?
October 28th, 2008 at 9:24 am
Spence, do you ever watch Cops? The only time I truly felt sad while watchiing that show was when it showed two guys who were addicted to huffing paint.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:24 am
I loathe Simmons’ Boston homerism, unabashed hatred of the Colts and the fact he doesn’t know anything about football…but he talks about gambling lines every week, is very good when it comes to the NBA and gets the dudes from Football Outsiders to come on once a month. That and you gotta listen to something in the car.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:24 am
I’m too busy watching Gossip Girl and Regis to listen to some stupid podcast. (double high fives TBL)
October 28th, 2008 at 9:26 am
You can get addicted to huffing paint? My brother said he could stop whenever he wanted to. He just doesn’t want to stop right now.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:26 am
Spence, do you ever watch Cops? The only time I truly felt sad while watchiing that show was when it showed two guys who were addicted to huffing paint.
Bsanders I think I saw that episode. It was some mexican guy he had silver paint all over his mouth. It was fucked up. Last night though they got some guy naked in the bushes after he shot up coke.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:27 am
The chick on Intervention who was addicted to huffing dust off was a loon. It makes your lips freeze and shit. She looked like she had a definite chapping problem or a moustache. No HD so I couldn’t tell. It was pretty damn gutter though.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:27 am
im impressed/surprised you listened to a simmons podcast. do many people do this?
I don’t any more, but it’s simply because I don’t have 30 consecutive minutes during a day to do it. He does a decent job with them.
I have a buddy who moved to Australia who listens to the Simmons podcast (among other things) on his commute (train) to work.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:27 am
you’re putting a bill simmons podcast up against the witty writing of gossip girl?
regis splits time with sportscenter; what else is on at 9 am?
October 28th, 2008 at 9:27 am
I meant Cool Rick
October 28th, 2008 at 9:27 am
rick…i watch every now and then. i didn’t think you could really get addicted to huffing paint. people seriously do that? are people that desperate to get that fucked up?
October 28th, 2008 at 9:28 am
He’s the same guy that the Wilbon-Kendra Wilkenson pictures came from.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:28 am
TBL I suggest you watch Maury and Judge Mathis that is quality daytime TV.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:29 am
Podcasts are great if you have a commute. Simmons, NPR has several good ones, This American Life, Elvis Mitchell’s “The Treatment,” pretty much anything from KCRW out of Santa Monica.
Lotta good podcasts out there.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:29 am
You can get addicted to huffing paint? My brother said he could stop whenever he wanted to. He just doesn’t want to stop right now.
My Uncle is the same way. Sometimes he just switches to White Out.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:29 am
i couldnt imagine Intervention in HD.
“look how clear her track marks are!!!”
October 28th, 2008 at 9:30 am
Judge Joe Brown > Judge Mathis
October 28th, 2008 at 9:31 am
And Tampa, in that episode they were homeless and camping out behind a paint store. They were really fucked up and had paint all over themselves.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:32 am
Clown That is bullshit.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:32 am
Is this blog in question worth checking out after work? I’m intrigued about a blog of a dude banging chicks, with pictures of said banging.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:34 am
unrelated, but just heard on stern: McCain accidentally drops the c-bomb
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qX1ImnGQYcE
October 28th, 2008 at 9:34 am
depends on your taste. i’d say most are vegas 6s, which would probably make them 8/9s wherever you live
October 28th, 2008 at 9:35 am
carnivore? carpet? cantankerous?
or is it C U Next Tuesday?
October 28th, 2008 at 9:35 am
So do you have to download a podcast before you listen to it like you do a song? Do you buy it from itunes or are they free? Do you have to take time to actually look up and download a podcast or can you just like tune to it and listen at any time? I have almost zero technology in my life…
October 28th, 2008 at 9:36 am
Not surprising really, we all know McCain thinks his wife is a c-bomb and tells her so often.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:36 am
I wish I had a blogsite.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:37 am
How long before Mike NYC digs up a link of Obama calling someone a bitch?
October 28th, 2008 at 9:37 am
maggs:
“ITS LIKE IM WALKIN ON SUNSHINE!!!!!!!!!”
/girl who huffs dust-off
October 28th, 2008 at 9:38 am
Maggs
- They’re free. What you do is find one you like on itunes, hit the “subscribe” link next to it and then itunes will automatically download all the new episodes of any podcasts you’ve subscribed to. So basically, after a little setup at the beginning, all you have to do is plug in your iPod every day and it’ll upload any new podcasts you like in about two minutes.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:40 am
“ITS LIKE IM WALKIN ON SUNSHINE!!!!!!!!!â€
I need to watch this Intervention show. I’m in desperate need of some one liners.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:40 am
@mmonast
I was wondering if anyone actually saw that! It was awesome! I mean sad, but also awesome! She was so retarded from that shit it was crazy.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:40 am
huffing glue >>>> huffing paint
/Charlie’d
October 28th, 2008 at 9:40 am
Spence – people who huff paint are really sad. I am usually an asshole with no remorse. But seeing these people irks me.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:41 am
“Over the next two years, he was a decent male performer, he worked 15-20 times a month, and did good scenes. Where he really made his niche however, was getting new girls into the business. Do you realize that he found Alexis Texas, Rachel Roxxx, Rachel Star, AND Lacie Heart (I did a great scene with her for Face Fucking Inc. and Joey Silvera)?”
This shit is gold.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:42 am
@bsanders
Thanks man. Now I just need to save up for a mac book and a flat screen…
October 28th, 2008 at 9:42 am
@Magglio…you can listen to Simmons’ podcast directly from the ESPN site without d-loading it.
He does a very good job with his podcasts…gets a lot of interesting guests.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:43 am
rick…im going to have to watch that later…then again, i don’t know if i really want to see someone sniff paint.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:43 am
maggs, some podcasts, you can just stream right off the internet w/o downloading them. Simmons’ podcast is available at his page at ESPN w/o downloading.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:45 am
Cool Rick -
That is all kinds of messed up. I’m glad I got addicted to huffing gasoline. I feel somewhat normal compared with that video.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:45 am
maggs, I think you can listen to Simmons’ podcasts directly from ESPN without downloading. at least, that’s what I’ve heard.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:46 am
@Sterlin- The Chick on the right is Kayden Kross. Very, very Nice.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:48 am
maggs, yup thought the same thing…it was very entertaining and sad but when she said that…it was impossible not to laugh my ass off
October 28th, 2008 at 9:49 am
I have a 40 minute commute one way. Listening to Podcasts beats the hell out of whatever is on the radio. And they are all free. Can’t recommend it enough.
Simmons’ podcast is pretty good. The WSJ daily, the Moth podcasts, and Kevin Smith’s “SModcast” are good as well.
October 28th, 2008 at 9:59 am
Who “accidentally” drops the C-bomb? That is a word that even I know not to use, and I can make sailors blush at the drop of a hat. Ridiculous.
October 28th, 2008 at 10:00 am
OntheDLPodcast.com has a ton of sweet podcasts with sports media members. they’re very similar to the interviews TBL does, but in audio form and longer.
October 28th, 2008 at 10:08 am
I listen to the BBC World News podcast, which is invaluable. NPR has some good ones. Basically, podcasts >>>>> talk radio
October 28th, 2008 at 10:11 am
I wish I had internet and a personal computer. I do have an ipod! Yay for me!
October 28th, 2008 at 10:17 am
What about us losers without iTunes or an iPod. Can we still get access to podcasts from a central source to download onto our mp3 players? Crap, sounds like I need an iPod.
October 28th, 2008 at 10:20 am
@SJ: you can get Itunes for free and still download the podcasts without an ipod. you can listen to them right on your computer. i’m sure you can put them on an mp3 player because they download just like normal mp3s.
October 28th, 2008 at 10:34 am
Yeah, but I guess I love the idea of it all being automated and streamlined. Damn. That’s the first thing I’ve heard about iTunes that I actually like.
October 28th, 2008 at 10:39 am
wait, so on Itune i can just download podcasts for free?
October 28th, 2008 at 10:40 am
How long till TBL has his own podcast?
October 28th, 2008 at 10:41 am
Yes, but i sense you may be being sarcastic. The Ricky Gervais show podcasts actually cost money, but you can find them on the internet for free. they’re the funniest podcasts i’ve ever heard.
October 28th, 2008 at 10:42 am
I enjoy the PTI podcast as well. You don’t lose much not having the picture.
October 28th, 2008 at 11:05 am
Huffing paint? Sniffing glue? What happens to the good old days of drinking an entire bottle of robotussin or eating a sheet of cough pills? You crazy kids freak me out.
October 28th, 2008 at 12:22 pm
This dude’s blog is great. Been reading it ever since TBL linked to it with the whole “Wilbon hanging out with porn stars” fiasco in Vegas.
