Pistons Pumping In Crowd Noise
1-liner, NBA November 4th. 2008, 11:45amDEE-TROIT BASKETBALL!!!: Viewers of Saturday’s Pistons-Wizards game noticed a startling amount of inappropriately timed crowd noise, that was artificially enhanced. Apparently, the pyrotechnics, whistles, thundersticks and stentorian stylings of John Mason are not enough to get The Palace rocking these days. (We’re Off To See The Willards) P.S. Of things I miss about living around Detroit, drunk fights in The Palace upper deck may crack the top ten.

This is the same thing that happened with the fans after the Bad Boys won. they only cheered loud when that stupid meter showed up on the big screen.

I heard Stan Van Gundy interviewed on LeBatard’s radio show down here, and he said he HATES all that crap. He said the opening night intros in Orlando took longer than playing the first quarter. He said the NBA is now about everything BUT basketball. I couldn’t agree more. This over the top shit before games is ridiculous, imo

but the Palace crowd in the playoffs the last few years has sucked too. their energy is a reflection of the teams. or vice versa.

Every single NBA, NHL, and MLB & NFL dome teams do this. Not a big deal and shouldn’t even be a story.
