Problems in Nashville: Pacman Jones Arrested (Again); Jay Cutler Is Too Big-Time For Old Friends
Courts, Legal, Media Gossip/Musings, NFL August 25th. 2006, 12:48pm
Weve got another athlete arrest, but this one should come as no surprise, since West Virginia University appears to be churning out criminals faster than Florida State: For seemingly the 47th time in his brief but checkered career in Tennessee, Titans defensive back Adam Pacman Jones has been arrested.
This time, its for disorderly conduct for being drunk and rowdy outside of a rap concert early this morning in Nashville. Police spotted him loudly arguing with a woman, and noted he possessed all the hallmarks of a night of boozing: bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and reeking of alcohol. Jones claimed the woman stole his wallet, and repeatedly shouted profanities after cops told him to simmer down. Jones was cuffed and stuffed.
When Jones ran afoul of the law in spring, we urged coach Jeff Fischer to keep Pacman a safe distance from promising rookies LenDale White and Vince Young. Now, it appears the best solution is to banish Pacman to Cincinnati, because the Criminals Bengals are in the market for a talented cornerback with a lengthy and distinguished rap sheet.
In other Titans news (not really, but oh well), Nashvilles own Jay Cutler hes already being dubbed the next Elway in Denver – recently blew off local sports anchor Neil ODonnell after the TV station flew a crew all the way to Denver hoping for an interview. Cutler wouldnt even spare 15 minutes of his time for ODonnell, because he was moving into a new house on his off day. That, friends, is what is called “getting the stiff-arm.” Perhaps it is a case of Cutler not wanting O’Donnell’s bad Super Bowl karma rubbing off on him?
